      My boyfriend and I had a very special introduction to Lisbon by staying at Mario's beautiful apartment. It's a real home away from home, spacious with ace retro touches.

      There are botanical gardens on the doorstep, with transport links within easy walking distance. We can't wait to visit again soon!

      Fun in Lisbon!

      I travel a lot but have always stayed in hotels. This was a real treat to rent this apartment. The location is within easy walking distance to the train station and many of Lisbon's main attractions.
      The apartment was very clean and comfortable. The whole process of reservations and payment was very easy. I had emailed Mario several times before the trip and always received prompt replys. Mario was a pleasure to work with and was there waiting when we arrived. He had great recommendations for what to see and do (and eat!) in the time we were in Lisbon. We felt it was a very safe neighborhood. Great experience, would absolutely stay there again! Thanks Mario!

      The service we recieved from Fadoflats from the moment we made the booking was second to none - responses to any queries were very prompt and Mario was waiting to meet us at the flat despite our late arrival. One little inconvinience is that they only accept money by bank transfer and not credit card - from the UK this costs £25 in bank charges. This procedure, however, seems to quite common for apartment rentals in Lisbon.

      The apartment itself is in a great location and in a part of the city I wouldn't have otherwise explored. There are several very nice restaurants and cafes nearby. Make sure you go to Lost Inn - fantastic views and cocktails!

      Within the apartment, there is pretty much everything you might need. The kitchen is small and basic - we only used it for breakfast. I think we would have struggled to use it to cook proper meals in (e.g. the oven door is blocked by the washing machine). The double bed is a little on the small side and that might be an issue for some people.

      All of these were however minor inconviniences - it was the perfect base to explore this vibrant city.

      This is my second time in this appartament, in this time I stayed with my sons. It's perfectly located, you have the public transportation really near, and you can go walking to the most important monuments, squares and typical neighbourhoods. Luminated, clean, beautiful viewsand comfortable beds.
      An amazing experience, again. Sure, we'll come back.

      Located less than one minutes walk from Praca Pricipe Real and a close walk to the Barrio alto, Restauradores and the Baixa, its a great place to base yourselves so you can enjoy walking around this fabulous city.

      For those who prefer the transit system to cope with the hills, the links from Praca Principe Real are as good as anywhere.

      It's on the top floor (four short flights - no lift), so there are no foorsteps on your head, and views from the living room are lovely. The height also means good breezes in the warmer weather, but you will be letting in the sounds of the city.

      Well stocked with all the dried goods basics, the kitchen also had all the appliances we needed.

      Tastefully decorated throughout and with an antique suit of furniture in the bedroom, it's a cut above the rest for it's interior.

      A good base for a lovely stay in a fantastic city

      We have just returned from Lisbon and stayed at Principe Real 1 apartment. From the first email received from Mario from Fadoflats I really liked the customer support they offered. We took a taxi from the airport (it was 23Euro as we bought Taxi Voucher from the tourist office). Mario was waiting already for us in the apartment. The apartment was just a right size for our family (2 adults and two small children). Kids slept on sofa in the living room. The apartment had all we needed, including washing machine to wash kids clothes. It was the second floor, it has no elevator but had no problems to carry our two strollers up there. We used the flat mostly as a sleeping room as we spend whole days exploring Lisbon. We really liked the location as it was just 10 min walk from the Metro station avenida and close to many restaurants. When you stay there you shouldn't miss a few attractions nearby:
      1. Botanic Garden (Jardim Botânico) - 10 min walk
      2. Jardim da Estrela - beautiful garden with great playground for kids - 15 min walk
      3. Haagen Dazs garden called Secrte Sensation (use Google to find it) - 5 min walk, narrow road right from R. Sao Pedro de alcantara, very close to Jardim do Principe Real. Nice small garden with beautiful view of Lisbon. You can have there your ice creams or cocktails while seating on the grass or on white pillows.
      3. Vegetarian Restaurant Jardim do Sentidos (www.jardimdosentidos.com ) - 5 min, walk down the stairs towards avenida Metro station. Great restaurant with a nice garden, where kids can run while you can enjoy your meal or wine.

      When we left the apartment we took a taxi from the taxi stand at the Jardim do Principe Real. This time we paid just 13 Euro as we paid directly to the driver.

      In summary: nice apartment with the great location and great people to deal with. Thanks Mario!

      "Un buen apartamento para alquilar, en un buen barrio, con un buen propietario. Con su aire retro es genial para pasar unos días en Lisboa. Las vistas desde una de las ventanas del salón son estupendas y las camas son muy cómodas. Está muy bien equipado. Respecto al ruido ,que algunos inquilinos anteriores comentaban, es mínimo; alguna noche se oye de fondo el ruido del bar de abajo y algunos de los coches que suben la calle pero nada digno de mención o que pueda causar verdaderas molestias para el descanso. "

      Comfortable apartment in an excellent Location!

      A fully furnished clean apartment was the first thing that really impressed me when I checked in. Comfort was my priority since I will be staying for 12 days and this apartment really contributed greatly for a nice vacation I sure had. In fact it was really hard to leave you can really feel at home and Lisbon is such a wonderful city. As an additional factor the apartment also has a great view from the windows since it's on the top floor. Coordinating with the property owner Mario,has surpassed my expectations. Every concerns that I have before and after booking was taken cared of in a very prompt manner. Very professional owner with a great touch of Hospitality that would make your first time visit to Lisbon memorable. This will be my second home when I visit Lisbon again.

      Lovely, cozy flat overlooking Lisboa

      This is a really nice flat. Lovely and comfortable with all the details accounted for. It's well situated on the heights of the old town, so there are lots of great views. it's just a short walk to many great sites and good restaurants and easy public transport.

      The accommodations are clean and well cared for. A beautiful apartment!

      Idéalement situé au cœur de la ville de Lisbonne, proche de tous commerces, restaurants, cafés, pâtisseries etc. et très bien desservi par un important réseau de transports en commun, ce charmant appartement d'une parfaite propreté est le point de départ privilégié pour partir à la découverte des pittoresques quartier du Bairro Alto ou du Chiado. Si vous préférez un moment de détente au milieu de la verdure, vous apprécierez la sérénité du jardin du Principe Real. Si j'ajoute à tout ceci l'accueil, la gentillesse et la disponibilité de Mario de Fadoflats, je peux que recommander la location de cet appartement à qui souhaite s'immerger dans le cœur historique de la capitale portugaise.

      A cozy and luminous flat in the heart of Lisbon

      I have enjoyed the stay along with my family in this apartment in the heart of Lisbon. It's a cozy, luminous, clean and cool flat, although a bit noisy due to the proximity to the street. The flat is well-communicated, you can get to the underground or to the city center fast since the buses stop very near, and has all comforts you may need.

      The location in Lisboa in Principe Real 1 was very nice. We - me and my boyfriend - enjoyed our time in the flat and the city. I can't say that anything was wrong with the flat, just little things.

      Somos um casal que vive nos Açores e se desloca regularmente a Lisboa, por motivos profissionais e familiares. Desta vez decidimos ficar num apartamento, em vez de um hotel, e em boa hora o fizemos!
      Este apartamento da Fadoflats está estupendamente localizado:a um passo do Jardim do Principe Real e dos restaurantes do Bairro Alto, de teatros e cinemas, e das estaçoes de metro da Avenida e do Rato; é ideal para combinar uma viagem de trabalho e de lazer.
      O apartamento estava impecavelmente limpo, decorado com gosto, com a maioria das comodidades que seriam de esperar e com um toque de "lar" que nos fez sentir em casa. O quarto é extremamente espaçoso, com uma conveniente área de trabalho, e as vistas sao relaxantes.
      Haverá apartamentos mais luxuosos, mas a relaçao qualidade/preço deste parece-nos definitivamente 5 estrelas!

      Sally and I enjoyed our stay at Principe Real very much. It was centrally located with many amenities and easy access to transportation. We mostly enjoyed the turn of the century decor and the spacious comfortable bedroom. It was affordable for us, convenient and comfortable. We shall return.Ma
