This apartment is is a 2-bedroom 2nd floor flat with views of the River Tagus and the traditional Alfama street below, and suitable for up to 6 guests.
Main features: 2 bedrooms, each with double beds, 1 double sofa-bed in living room, free Internet (both wi-fi and cable), cable TV with many English-language channels, views over the river and of Alfama's streets, and a central location in Lisbon's historic Alfama neighbourhood close to major transport facilities.

Just a short walk to major sights such as the National Pantheon - where the famous fado singer Amalia Rodrigues is buried - and which is just round the corner, the Fado Museum, Lisbon Castle and Lisbon Cathedral, together with the central squares of Rossio and Praça do Comércio, and the wonderful 'miradouros' (viewpoints) of Alfama, like the Portas do Sol, and Miradouro Santa Luzia.
This area has plenty of cafeterias, tapas bars, traditional fado restaurants, as well as the small village-type shops typical of Alfama. In the Santa Apolonia station just 150 metres away there is a 'Pingo Doce' supermarket and just opposite the station there is a Chemist's (pharmacy). On the opposite side of the main road, next to the river, there is a large open-air car park which charges approx. 5 Euro per day.

5 of us stayed in this apartment for 7 nights. We had a great time in Lisbon, apartment is very close to metro station santa apolonio wich takes you directly to the centre. Taxi was also very cheap, approximately 4-5euros...there is one store inside of the metro station, but we preferred one smaller private shop down the street with fresh vegetables, fruits and ginja:) Apartment is very nice, one of the best in which I have ever been. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and anyone who is going to Lisbon.

We stayed at this lovely apartment for 4 nights in early October. The place was exactly the way it was on the video; rustic and cosy and extremely comfortable with all amenities including Wi-fi and air con. It is ideally situated with views of the river Tagus and surrounded by historic buildings . Across the road from the apartment is Rua do Remedios that features some fantastic restaurants. The Grelhador de alfama at # 135 is listed in Lonely Planet. The apron clad owner bailed us up in the street and simply asked: meat or fish? Our salt-crusted fish, a Dorado, was served by a very proud young chef and was delicious. Next to the restaurant at
# 139 is the Mesa de Frades a Fado house. Despite it being extremely dark it was an unforgettable experience as the young Fado singer had an amazing voice. We visited a tiny restaurant that was crowded with locals the next evening. I think it is named Tasca Bela. It is two minutes from the apartment, which is just as well as the food was fantastic and we ate far too much to walk a longer distance. The owner serves a Portuguese tapas menu and the best Sangria, we'd ever tasted. Later a young man sat next to us and played Fado on the guitar, a real treat. Following the same street during the day we also ventured into the city along winding cobbled stoned streets, past landmarks such as Sao Vicente de Fora and the famous Castelo de Sao Jorge. As we ambled along, admiring architecture and vistas, it took about 2.5 hours. If you don't want to walk, buses go into the city from nearby Santa apalonia Station, where at Pingo Doce you can get your groceries and alcoholic beverages. To watch the sun go down over the Tagus from the apartment, cold drink in hand, is hard to beat. We loved our stay at alfama River III and it by far exceeded our expectations. Roger the owner, was always on hand, being informative and helpful, prior and during our visit and this further contributed to a stress free stay. We will certainly return. -

Really nice flat, with aircon, TV and internet, quite charming and in the amalfa. There's a nice bakery nearby, restaurants are a short stroll. Really good base to explore Lisbon.

Our apartment was exactly as depicted and was well priced, clean and in an excellent location. Roger was waiting on our arrival, and was 'Johnny on the spot' when we had a query re the washing machine.
Excellent value for money, and I would recomment the apartment to anyone travelling to Lisbon. -

Clean and modern for lisboa appts. Just walk out of the door turn left and you're at the train/metrostation within 2mins. Friendly welkcome and good communication.

Hello!
I recommend this very comfortable apartmant placed in the historical part of Lisbon alfama as a good place to start visiting Lisbon. Very close to the metro station but also within the walking distance (8-10 mins) from the most popular parts of Lisbon (Baixa). Many restaurants around. Only the way leading to the apartment was steep (road and stairs) but apart from that everything was perfect. Very nice service! -

We loved our stay in Lisboa, and especially in the apartment. It was clean, well located (Alfama is such a great place to get lost in all the little streets and visit like this), very typical. For 4 people it was great, with a really nice and friendly hospitality. I was absolutely recommend this place to stay in Lisboa!

El piso está muy bien para 5 personas, y super centrico para hacer turismo por lisboa, en pleno barrio de alfama. A 2 minutos del metro y andando del tranvia 28. En la zona hay muchos bares y restaurantes, incluso sitios de Fado.
es una opcion estupenda para ir a Lisboa con amigos o en familia. -

First visit to Lisbon, First class service from agent. Clean, compact apartment with all we required as a family. Supermarket near by for all our essentials. Wi-fi access was a bonus.

Four of us had a great time during our recent stay in Lisbon. the apartment was clean, tidy and comfortable and in a great location. We loved the old charm of the exposed stonework, beams and tiles. Easy access to Santa apolonia station and local bars/restaurants. Would not hesitate to recommend.

My husband, myself and our one year old daughter stayed at this apartment for four days at the end of Feb 2011. The whole experience from start to finish was fantastic! Once our booking was confirmed, Roger stayed in touch by email and provided lots of information about Lisbon and how to transfer from the airport when we arrived. We were met at the apartment even though our flight landed late at night and were shown around the flat so we knew how everything worked. A travel cot was also provided for my daughter which was great. The accomodation was clean and well equiped and the location made it ideal for sight-seeing. We had a wonderful trip and the service provided by Roger and his team was faultless. I would totally recommend this apartment for those who wish to have a comfortable stay in Lisbon.
