The Alfama River II apartment is a 2-bedroom 3rd floor flat with with splendid views over teh River tagus, and suitable for up to 6 guests.
This is a clean & modern property, renovated in 2009, which forms part of a traditional building in the historic Alfama district in the heart of central Lisbon, located next to the Santa Apolonia Metro/Train station for convenient transport facilities and nestled amongst the cobbled streets, picturesque squares and traditional Fado restaurants of the charming Alfama district.

Just a short walk to major sights such as the National Pantheon - where the famous fado singer Amalia rodrigues is buried - and which is just round the corner, the Fado Museum, Lisbon Castle and Lisbon Cathedral, together with the central squares of Rossio and Praça do Comércio, and the wonderful 'miradouros' (viewpoints) of Alfama, like the Portas do Sol, and Miradouro Santa Luzia.
This area has plenty of cafeterias, bars, traditional fado restaurants, as well as the small village-type shops typical of Alfama.
In the Santa Apolonia station just 150 metres away there is a 'Pingo Doce' supermarket and just opposite the station there is a Chemist's (pharmacy). On the opposite side of the main road, next to the river, there is a large open-air car park which charges approx. 5 Euro per day.

Great location - especially as it was Sardine Central with the Santo antonio celebrations on June 12. Fine apartment, with plenty of room. Not ideal if you have a stairs or steep hill phobia, but it's just up a hill from the train station and you're only minutes' walking distance from the beautiful city centre. Alfama itself is a maze of narrow streets and oozes atmosphere. We loved it and would highly recommend this apartment.

My wife and I were very pleased we chose this apartment for our stay in Lisbon. It is really clean and comfortable. Roger was very helpful in answering all of our questions. It's a close walk from the apartment to the nearest metro station. The grocery store is close and has a good selection. The only drawback for some people would be that the uphill walk to the apartment from the metro station and the climb up the stairs might be too much for people with bad knees or those who have trouble walking. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Lisbon and would recommend this apartment to others.

We had a wonderful 3 day stay in Lisbon, thanks in no small part to this lovely apartment overlooking the port. Close to shopping and transportation at the nearby metro station, right in the historical alfama district, and a short walk to the center of the city. The apartment was clean, convenient, airy and comfortable.

The room was a surprise after arriving at the apartment block, it was modern, clean and comfortable. The walk up the stairs was an interesting and memorable challenge but well worth it. The apartment was out of the bussle and hussle of the city but close enough to walk in or catch the local buses or trains for a short trip to the city. We enjoyed our stay very much.

not very confortable, the bath room was without window and air circulation, and one bed room was separeted from the bath room by a glass trough the wich entered much light since the early morning.

I'm not sure what you mean about too much light, since both bedrooms have window shutters to block the light.
The bathroom is interior, but has an opaque window which can be seen on the photos to provide some natural light from one of the bedrooms, but that hasn't caused a problem for any of our previous guests.

This trip was wonderfull ! The city is really typicall, with a lot of different things to do (visits, beachs not so far, animated nights). Transports are very well organisated, food and drinks are delicious and portuguese people are so nice !
And, on top of it all, this appartement was a very good experience : Roger was here at our arrival, the appartement was totally and recently cleaned. We had had all explainations needed for our 4 days stay. The location of the appartement is absolutely perfect (subway, trains and buses at 2 minutes walk from the appartement). The equipement is complete. Well, all I have to say is "thank you Roger. We are really happy of this experience and we hope coming back another day". For sure, it'll be in this appartement ! -

The apartment newly renowed was welcoming and very well located.
We enjoyed wandering in the tiny streets of almafa and benefiting from the magnificiant view on the Tagus River.
Shops, restaurants, typical trams are closed to the apartment.
If you opt for this stay, don't forget that the Lisboa stairs are straight! -

We had a fantastic time in Lisbon..the apartment had everything we needed and the location was really good since we arrived and departed at Santa apolonia station.
The view of the river is absolutely a highlight.
Roger was very helpful and a great host..he provided heaps of useful information. He speaks Spanish flawlessly
I recommend this apartment for an unforgettable stay in this lovely city.

We have been Roger's guest for a city weekend. It's a pretty location in alfama, the view is as shown on the website's movie. Supermarket nearby in the railway station and typical fado restaurants around the corner. The appartment is fully equiped, also very suitable for longer stays to explore the surroundings or beaches. Public transport is good value. Roger provide excellent check in and out support and suggestions for a real Lisboa experience.

La situación del apartamento en pleno centro del barrio de alfama, además de poseer todas las comodidades necesarias, hacen de este apartamento un sitio ideal para aquella persona que quiera conocer realmente la esencia de la Lisboa más cotidiana y profunda. A menos de cinco minutos de él tienes locales donde oir fado en directo mientras disfrutas de una cena con la mejor cocina portuguesa, tiendas tradicionales de alimentación, y la estación de Santa apolonia, verdadero nudo de comunicaciones ( tren , metro y autobus ) que te permite desplazarte a cualquier zona de la ciudad barato y en tiempo record. En una semana de estancia no utilizamos el vehículo particular ni una sola vez, con la comodidad que ello conlleva, permitiéndote además tener más contacto con la realidad y forma de vivir de los lisboetas.
Para cualquier duda o necesidad que pudiese surgir, Roger, el propietario, es una persona encantadora que ejerce como el más atento anfitrón preocupándose de que la estáncia de sus inquilinos sea lo más placentera posible.
