About the Surroundings:
Santa Catarina, one of Lisbon's most typical neighbourhoods, is located in a quiet quarter between the busy Santos, Bairro Alto and Chiado. Perfect for resting and having a good night sleep. During the day you can walk to the 'Miradouro de Santa Catarina' where you can enjoy a wonderful view of the river, while drinking a cold beer or a hot chocolat. Take a walk alongside the river Tagus, rent a bike or even a GoCar Tour. 'Bairro Alto' is a very old quarter of the city full of trendy stores, boutiques, art galleries and original bars and restaurants. Right next to it there's 'Chiado', the elegant center, with cafes, theaters, the opera house and big brand stores. Don't forget the well known 'Elétrico 28' (tramway 28) that can take you on a mythical ride through both monumental and popular sites of the authentic Lisbon.
All this in a short walking distance form the apartment!

Lisbon is an old city but full of energy. Either to climb to 'Castelo de S.Jorge' or to visit the old 'Torre de Belém', literally on the Tagus River, you can enjoy fine walks making the best Lisbon's weather can offer. With mild winters and warm to hot summers, Lisbon is know for its unique light!
If you want to spend a day at the beach, take the train (near the apartment) and go to Estoril and Cascais, a picturesque and cosmopolitan old village. If you prefer a more romantic escapade, try Sintra with its enchanting views and palaces!

We booked this apt some months in advance. Previously to our arrival, I sent Miguel (the owner) some emails asking for infomations on car rentals, the apartement's surroundings, stairs, etc, etc, etc. All my messages were promptly and kindly answered. A few days previous to our arrival, we asked Miguel if it'd be possible to arrive a day earlier. To our luck, it was possible. So, in our experience, Miguel is accommodating, professional, attentive and recomendable.
The apartment itself is a gem! The five days my husband and I spent there were great. It has space enough, a very good kitchen with everything you could need to prepare simple meals and a charming and useful table. The wi fi conection works perfectly.The bed is confortable. The bathroom is small, but it's ok an has a very good shower.
If you're driving a car, there's a parking lot some 200 meters from the apartment, but we think it might be expensive.
Although the surroundings may appear shabby upon initial glance, it's a familiar, quiet and safe place to stay in and it's really close to everything. You can easily walk to Chiado, Rua augusta, Santa Justa Lift, etc. The famous Tram 28 is just around the corner.
There're lots of nearby cafes, little markets, restaurants, old book stores, etc
all in all, we higly recomend this apartment and it's owner. If we had a chance, we'd definitely stay there again. -

The service was very good and all our questions were answered promptly. The location was very convenient as we were able to get around the city easily on foot or by tramway. We liked the layout of the apartment best as it allowed all of us a comfortable stay. The furnishings were very attractive as well.

L'appartement est très bien situé pour visiter Lisbonne à pied ou avec les transports urbains (tram, métro)et dans une rue calme.
Les propriétaires qui sont accueillants et disponibles ont très bien meublé et agencé ce petit appartement et nous avons passé une agréable semaine à Lisbonne. -

Very nice appartment in the centre of Lisbon. It is cosy and stylish. There is a modern fitted kitchen. Also we liked that there is wi-fi. Everything was clean. The owner and his brother are friendly and helpful. It is an excellent place where you can stay!

We were very pleasantly surprised by this very well placed apartment, unless 100 meters of a station of the mythical streetcar n°28 and in 10 minutes on foot of the city center and the historic district. The apartment is very quiet and pleasant to live. There is also a lot of taxis which can take you if you ask them by a sign of the hand. The welcome was very warm and the owner xas very helpful. We were very well advised on the possible visits to make during our stay.
For information, there is a good restaurant not far from the apartment. Its name is "Rosa da rua" in the street "Rua da Rosa".
It's a recommended address.
