The Turquoise House is located in the famous Graça District - in one of the famous 7 Lisbon hills - which gives you a panoramic view of the City and Castle and hosts the “Feira da Ladraâ€, every Tuesday and Saturday morning, Lisbon’s proudest Flea Market since the 12th century.
From here you can enjoy a nice walk towards the Tagus River, catch the famous Tram 28 that goes through an unforgettable journey through the historical city center, crossing many touristic attractions. You can also quickly catch the tube down town to the trendy and night-out place to be of Bairro Alto & Chiado.
Graça District is well known to be one of the most typical, safe, handy and full of character districts, where all the visitors can breath the Lisboners hospitality and way of living... and first and foremost for it incredible Belvederes (viewpoints over Lisbon).

:::HOUSE RULES:::
There are no strict rules - we just expect you to take care well of our place as much as you'd like us to do if we were visiting yours. However, just some notes:
1. We ask you to leave the apartment has you found it
2. Portuguese law for Urban Noise really enforces that minimal noise is made between 10PM and 8AM (during this period, the air conditioning should also be switched off as it’s being provisioned from the exterior)
3. For stays longer than 3 days, the Housekeeper must come to the apartment to maintain the garden, plants and flowers. The best time to do so is dependent on your preference!
4. Smoking is only allowed on the Terrace and Balcony
5. Cleaning, Linens and Towels included on the 1st week. Upon request a professional cleaning service can be provided as well as change of towels and linens (surcharge of 50 EUR total, per additional week)
6. We're flexible with check in and check out times, just let me know what would work for you and we'll do our best to accommodate your requirements
7. Pick up keys is at the apartment - should you've other requirements, please do let me know!
8. Smokers are welcome but only allowed to smoke on the Terrace and Balcony
At the end of the day, we just want you to enjoy Lisbon - a magical place.

This apartment worked perfectly for our family of four including a toddler and an infant. Nuno and Tania made every effort to meet all of our needs. The location was perfect in a quiet residential neighborhood, yet close to metro and tram and many sights.

My wife and I stayed at this lovely apartment in Lisbon in May, 2013 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The owner, Nuno, was a wonderful go to person, and Tania the hostess also made us feel welcome from the start. Very professional and friendly, they both ensured the apartment was ready for us upon arrival, and we had an idea of what tourist sites might be of interest to us even before we arrived. The apartment was beautifully furnished, and in a great location in the Lisbon, very close to public transportation, so a car was not required. We would absolutely recommend Nuno's Turquoise House in Lisbon if you are visiting this great city. It was a wonderful experience for us, and we can't wait to come back again!

Nous avons séjourné avec nos deux enfants à la Turquoise House au mois de mai 2013. L'appartement est magnifique, joliment décoré et pratique. Les pièces sont très grandes. Nous avons apprécié le petit couloir entre le séjour et la terrasse, parfait pour se détendre après une journée harassante de visite. L'appartement est frais, et malgré la chaleur extérieure, les pièces restent fraîches. C'est très pratique pour se rendre dans les différents quartiers de Lisbonne: le tram 28 est à peine 2 min de marche, la station de métro ligne verte est à 5 min de marche et vous êtes à Rossio et à Baxia à moins de 15 minutes. Nous avons vraiment apprécié notre séjour. Nuno est d'une gentillesse et d'une efficacité incroyable. Nous avons été bien accueilli par Tania qui est gentille comme tout.

How wonderful it was to fly so far and be in a foreign place but be able to arrive to an unknown accommodation and be made to feel so welcomed and so at home. That was our experience when we arrived at The Turquoise House! The house was so warm and inviting and traveling so far with three children in tow, it was nice to feel that the house had everything we would need to enjoy our stay in Lisbon! Tania was so nice and so informative and willing to answer all of our questions! We would definitely recommend it to our friends in the States!

We enjoyed a long week in The Turquoise House very much. In the apartment we had everything we needed, first of all a plenty of space, cleanliness and any kind of useful utilities (however we didn't even use most of them ;-) It is always a great experience to stay in an original place where natives also live. We would never prefer any luxury hotel in Lisbon since we know The Turquoise House!

We spent 7 nights in this apartment mid March. It was myself, my wife, our 2 daughters and my brother and we flew in from amsterdam. The location of the apartment is excellent for some quietness whilst being close to the must see in Lisbon!! You can easily get on the famous tram 28, the tube.. and be everywhere in no more than 20 minutes! It's well suited for tourists but you also get an authentic neighborhood to go with it. The apartment itself is super clean (they've a professional cleaning company!!), with a terrific and impressive decoration and yet very cozy.
The apartment is truly special. Beautiful and well appointed there is no way a hotel is better than this. If you ever wanted to live (and I mean live!) like a local this is the perfect place to do it. Nuno and Tania are wonderful hosts - diligent, supportive and kind. Their attention to detail is evident from the moment you walk through the front door.

Nous avons eu la mauvaise idée de séjourner dans cet appartement, suite aux commentaires plus qu'élogieux de tripadvisor. Nous sommes arrivés dans un appartement crasseux, très inconfortable (surtout au niveau de la literie) proposé au prix ridiculeusement élevé de 140 € par nuit (mails à l'appui). De plus, l'ordinateur, était tombé en panne, comme par hasard, la veille de notre arrivée. Ecoeurés, nous sommes partis le lendemain, pour trouver un hotel 4 étoiles, ultra propre et spacieux au prix de 80 € / nuit. Chercher l'erreur. A éviter absolument, sauf pour ceux qui aiment séjourner dans les draps du précédent hote. De plus, le propriétaire n'a pa daigné nous parler directement au téléphone, mais nous a fait parvenir un mail plus que menacant. Nous avons vraiment eu l'impression de s'être fait berner.

thanks for sharing your experience with the TripAdvisor and Flipkey community although it comes as a truly unpleasant surprise that you've had the determination to share inaccurate, misleading and insultuous statements of your 1 (one) night stay at the Turquoise House. Because of that and also because I trust, it's worth of the community to know that there are guests that are overprivileged by having the opportunity to stay at great places worldwide, I hereby share with everyone the email that was sent to you, 1 (one) hour after you've unfortunately checked-in at the Turquoise House, one of the TripAdvisor/FlipKey award winners.
I'm therefore deferring to the every single reader to go through it and then take an informed opinion on your appalling review.

it is with my utmost regret that I'm being forced to host you at the Turquoise House for 1 night. I've been made aware of the incidents this morning during your check-in where you and your wife, without allowing my team to address your concerns:
a) complained about the desktop not functioning properly - which we've said we'd solve it on the same day (we couldn't predict that the desktop wouldn't start up properly as it never happened before) - you've said no.
b) complained about dust on 1 piece of furniture which was superficial - we've apologised and we've immediately asked the professional cleaning services we use to go to the apartment and solve the situation - you said no and yet they went there.
c) complained about the price of the apartment and said that the nightly rate should have been 50EUR - you were always aware of the nightly rate and actually it's a great deal for 9 people (yes, nine). I think it's also worth to share with the readers where you've found an accommodation for 9 people, in Lisbon, for 85 EUR i.e. nowhere, false.
d) you were always made aware of my concerns on accommodating 9 people (4 people and 6 children) and you've said it that would be fine and you'd still like to proceed with the reservation - that issue should never have been raised this morning during your check-in (I've a copy of this conversation of ours which I'm happy to resend)
e) we've always been extremely kind to you and we have even offered you a complementary late check-out, a complementary late check-in as well as the first night for free as your flight was cancelled. In a normal occasion you'd still have to pay for that night as the Turquoise House is not responsible for the cancellation of your flight.
Regrettably you and more so your wife, have been appalling, non constructive, not keen to have a proper discussion to find the best situation and you've even refused to leave the apartment. It was my decision not to accommodate you and issue a full refund of the deposit in cash (which I'm not even obliged to do based on the terms and conditions) and you said that you were not leaving. I appreciate you were very nervous regarding the situation you went through in Madeira prior arriving to Lisbon (regarding a robbery/assault you've been victim of) but that doesn't justify the approach you've taken, very rude.
For the record, you're only allowed to stay at the Turquoise House tonight because you've 5 children with you, otherwise I'd call the police immediately. The Turquoise House has an excellent reputation, has been an award winner 2012 on Flipkey/TripAdvisor, you've been made aware of all the conditions which you've accepted and you've failed to respect the terms of your stay.
Apart from any legal action I'm entitled at this stage to progress with, I want to inform you that you should be leaving the apartment tomorrow by 11:00AM and pay 20EUR for the remaining of the daily price of a 8 people stay at the Turquoise House (again something that is against the terms and conditions of your letting which has a 2 days minimum stay period) .
I also want to inform you that by now, I've already contacted my solicitor and I already have witnesses of what happened this morning at the apartment. I also want to inform you that if any of the equipment of contents at the Turquoise get damaged or missed the police is ready to intervene straight away.

Turquoise House is a large, classy and comfortable apartment in an excellent district close to the metro, buses and tram. We had a month's stay and very much enjoyed the time in the apartment, finding it very easy to live in.
Nuno and Tania make a great team to ensure you have an enjoyable and trouble free stay.
We didn't have a car but it is clear that parking is a major problem in the area. Fortunately, the Lisbon public transport is close by, cheap, easy to use, and efficient. There is always a bit of nervousness when booking on the internet. This apartment surpassed all our expectations. The apartment itself was beautiful, in such a quiet location and so close to the centre of town. The kitchen was well equipped so the self-catering was a breeze for our family! Lisbon was really a short stay for us, but we have really enjoyed our time here and being able to come back to such a comfortable and relaxing apartment contributed greatly to our enjoyment of the town.

The perfect apartment for our short stay - convenient location with a lot of transport links to the city centre must see, yet on a nice residential area of Graca. Metro stop almost on the corner, convenient shopping for eating-in (and saving money on breakfast and the occasional dinner); well-equipped kitchen; stylish and comfortable furnishings, very tasteful interior; quiet neighbors; gracious owner.

We have to agree with everything everyone else has said about this wonderful apartment. Staying here made such a big difference to our visit to Lisbon. We stayed in the apartment for 3 days and we could not have been more comfortable. House is extremely spacious, so much better than a tiny hotel room and beautifully furnished! The location was good as we were close to subways and were within walking distance to good traditional restaurants. The owners were very communicative and helpful, and I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone. Fully deserving of its consistent 5 star reviews.

We've stayed at the Turquoise House in early December so that we could have a girls escape before the Christmas period and we've just loved it. Lisbon is such a great city, warm people... this apartment is also a stunning property. We had a really lovely stay the apartment was really great clean, comfortable, lovely boutique decor, very well equipped. Friendly owners where really helpful, good location for family's quiet area and near to transport. We'll be back for sure!

We had a wonderful time during our stay at the turquoise house, which felt like a home away from home!
The accommodation surpasses expectation, big size apartment with 3 bedrooms (!!) yet with several small touches thoughtfully added, lovely linens, a bottle of wine to welcome us on arrival. Even though it was December we really felt able to relax on the cozy terrace, having a drink and do some reading!
You are only minutes away from local restaurants and shops and we found ourselves beautifully placed for exploring the city and all the interesting things Lisbon has to offer. Excellent transport links!

Appartement très confortable et bien situé. L'accueil par la propriétaire (que nous remercions à nouveau!) des lieux est amical et chaleureux.
L'appartement est tout à fait charmant, bien placé, très fonctionnel, lumineux avec de beaux volumes. La description correspond à la réalité. Un appartement fonctionnel, très bien agencé pour un séjour cours ou long.

We're a family of 6 coming on a trip all over Europe, from australia and we've loved staying at the Turquoise House for a short visit to Lisbon. The apartment is really big, with very very nice decoration and has all you need for a comfortable stay!!! The location is fine, although it's not on the most touristic and busy areas of Bairo alto and so on, but actually we've enjoyed staying in this most authentic and residential area, being a short tube ride to every place we wanted to visit. The hosts are wonderful and always prompt to help you out with anything. I couldn't recommend more staying at this apartment in Lisbon!!

The appartment was equipped fully with everything needed and the check-in and check out worked without any issues.
The rooms are all very comfortable and there is enough space for up to 8 people.
There are several small retailers and a supermarket very close.
The connection to the public transport (Metro and Tram28) is very good.

We had a great stay at the turquoise house...nuno and tania were perfect hosts, very helpful nothing was too much trouble, the check in was smooth, the apartment is well appointed and had everything we needed. The position is great as it is a few minutes walk to the metro which will take you downtown or uptown...we would walk downtown as well which is about 15minutes. It is close to all the beautiful sights of lisbon, but removed enough that you can enjoy the "typical" lifestyle as well! The shopping is good... supermarkets and pastelaria's close by.

We stayed in Turquoise House for only 2 days before a conference just outside the city. It is spacious with colorful decoration that reflect the owner's love of his flat. We didn't use the balcony, since it was raining both days, but it would be really fun with more people and/or a little entertaining. Plenty of hot water, and everything we needed was included.
It is at the top of about a 6 block walk up a hill, and it's quite close to the metro. Access to the Bairro alto, Baixa, etc... parts of the city is very easy, with only a short 5-10 minute transit time. Walking to the flea market, one of the boxes on our list, took only about 15-20 minutes.
In the front bedroom and office, you will hear cars passing, but it's quite peaceful. Lisbon has formal rules on noise, which are quite handy.
Nuno and Tania were quite helpful, and there are tourist books and a small house rules booklet with some suggestions for highlights of Lisbon. If you'd like to get away from the high traffic areas in a very close location that is infinitely more person, do give this a try. I have just returned from a "girls trip" to Lisbon and the surrounding areas. The three of us stayed at Nuno's apt and found it to meet our needs perfectly. Tania was there to assist us with anything we needed. We rented a car for 3 days and we were able to find street parking all three days without much difficulty. However, there is a parking garage around the corner. It is a short walk (5 mins) to the metro and a short walk (20 mins) to the tourist district.

Nice flat not far from the metro station (10 min by walking).
Many appliances in the place make you feel at home, if you don't want to take dinner outside, you can cook easily.
The service is very good, Tania and Nuno are very helpful, we knew that we did not have to hesitate for information.

Excellent apartment, very much recommended! Good location, easy to walk everywhere (if you want a workout walking up and down those hills) but the nearest metro stop is also only a 5 min. walk away. If we're ever coming to Lisbon again we'll stay at this same place for sure!

This is a real living house in Lisbon. Not like an apart hotel or a ready made house to use for visitors decorated for minimum needs. We thought we stayed in a friends house where everything we need is serviced. A large living room, comfortable bedrooms, a kitchen with every need. Location was also very good and we got the most of the beautiful city of Lisbon. Best value for money, thanks a lot.

The apartment is located downtown Lisbon not far from the wonderful Nr. 28 tram way. It is large and with beautiful interiors.
All equipments worked OK. Great flexibility and availability received from the guest (check in and out for example).
We appreciated the computer with Internet connection and the Wifi, very convenient for business (just in case... ) and to plan city visits.
The Dining room is beautiful with a big TV set (2012 = Olympic Games)

The service and communication whit Nuno was excellent. The apparment is very nice, it felt like home. The location is great, you can walk to the city center our you can take a cab it cost 5 euro. You can also take the nr. 28 tram. You have a lots of nice coffee shops around the corner. And it also have a very nice Indian restaurant very near. Ask Nuno. This apartment is nice for family our if you are a group of friends. Parking mite bee a challenge but be passion and you will find it. Free wifi internet access is also nice to have.

I went to Lisbon for a weekend break with some friends. The apartment is spectacular. It have everything you need to make your stay not only comfortable but also enjoyable. Nuno and Tania were helpful all the way throughout the booking, when u return to Lisbon I only plan to stay at the Turquoise House. It was easy to travel via taxi from our apartment, lots of resturants and view point not far from the apartment.

We stayed an Nuno's apartment four days. First of all - hospitality - despite Nuno currently lives in London we felt his care all the time (all those emails with questions "are you ok there, do you need something else" etc :)
His partner hostess Tania was also very helpfull and responsive. Check in and check out was quite flexible. Also such simple things as welcome drink (botle of nice red wine) and snacks makes really good impression!
Apartment itself is just fabulous! It's not an average apartment for rent. This is the real house with it's history - you can see it in every detail. Nuno has made all decorations himself and it looks just amazing! We are really impressed! Thank you for everithing, Nuno and Tania! -

We were three people who rented a week, and enjoyed this delightful and spacious apartment. The location is perfect for exploring Lisbon without a car, metro and bus stop very close by.
The apartment is located in a quiet area but only a few stations with the metro and you are in the middle of the night life and restaurants.
Full utensils for cooking and grocery stores within walking distance. For us, it was mostly breakfast as restaurant prices in Lisbon are nice!
My wife would like to have similar decorations at our home as this apartment, beautiful. Also nice to have free wi-fi/internet and PC.

Amazing house, huge spaces, fantastic decor. Tania as hostage is very helpfull and resourcefully made us feel that we could count on her for all we were surprised with a welcome pack that included a botltle of a very nice Portuguese red wine by the owners, that was a charmie surprise. The facilities around the area are very good and the comuttting very easy. We do recommend the house to everyone and we are looking forward to come back.
