With a privileged location, in one of Lisbon's most sought spots, apartment Lisboa Corpo Santo has every condition to lodge 6 people and be a setting point for fabulous days in Lisbon. The apartment is situated in Chiado, a historic neighbourhood with great cultural and artistic tradition, always a symbol of cosmopolitan Lisbon, with a strong intellectual, liberal and modernist component.
Presently it is the home of many art studios and design shops and residence of a more alternative layer of the higher middle class. It is a simple apartment, with charisma and personality. It is prepared to conveniently receive 6 people in comfort. It... is the ideal lodging for a young group of friends, two steps away from Lisbon's best movida and inserted in the trendiest area of the city. The spaces are large, with few objects, but some designer pieces that give it modernity and charm. All the bedrooms have big windows and the house much light which, in Lisbon well known for its unique light, is a priceless privilege.
To wake up late, open your eyes and see outside a beautiful sunny day is the best scenario you can wish for a stay in Lisbon. The bathrooms are prepared for a house full of people, with two showers in each of them, enabling everyone to be ready early to go up and down the 7 hills of the city. We suggest an espresso in one of the sidewalk cafés of Rua Garret. There is no coffee like the Portuguese and sipping it sitting right next to the statue of Fernando Pessoa, is a must. Presently, Chiado is one of the most prestigious neighbourhoods of Lisbon, situated between Bairro Alto and Pombaline Downtown. An area of much commerce, with interesting and original shops, also a residential area for population fringes with great purchasing power.
Cosmopolitan by tradition and nature, home to places like São Carlos Opera House and the Lisbon Faculty of Fine Arts, it is peopled, day and night, by different kinds of people. It is always a pleasure to walk along Rua Garret with its centennial cafés or sit in the Largo de Camões sidewalk café where you can taste some of the traditional newfound delicacies, fallen in disuse, but alive in the memory of all. Try asking for a glass of perfumed milk, capilé or orchata. In Bairro Alto, right next door, the night is long and varied. In all the streets, bars and restaurants follow one another, every other door, and the streets teeming with people. Chiado is at the heart of the old town and hence a short distance from most of the places that merit a visit.

Additional Location Information
Cais do Sodré was for decades an area of prostitution and sailors. Wall to wall with the boats that crossed the Tagus, the bars have names named after Northern Europe - like Copenhagen, Oslo or Rotterdam - where the sailors watched striptease. These bars still exist, kept the décor, the poles, but times have changed. Rua Nova do Carvalho today is a meeting point for thousands of youths who flock to Cais do Sodré to have fun. New places like Pensão do Amor [Pension of Love], an old pension house with rooms rented by the hour and served for other purposes, is today one of most sought after bars and places linked to art.
The restoration of the area was well thought and the truth is that Lisbon gained yet another space, different, with spaces for all tastes and ages. The décor and restoration of the Pensão do Amor is an excellent example of what we have been saying, with the burlesque and typical air of other times. Today Cais do Sodré is an area you should not miss if you visit Lisbon. The rose street, as it is now friendly called, since the tar was symbolically painted rose for the opening of all new spaces and turned pedestrian, is currently one of the ex-libris of the town. An area patronised by artists from all fields of art, you can choose to dine or just have a drink and dance. One other place you should not miss is the bar/café Sol e Pesca [Sun and Fishing], also recently opened. Here you can taste some of the best Portuguese canned foods.
A place formerly selling fishing tackle, it is today one of the best places to nibble on excellent national delicacies, a place visited at the end of 2011 by Anthony Bourdain, author of the food programme "No Reservations". Another of the recent openings to visit is the Bar Velha Senhora. But Cais do Sodré is an amazing melting pot, a blend of generations, cultures, languages that you hear amidst the hubbub of the street. Night clubs such as Musicbox, also the classic ones Toquio and Jamaica, always with long queues at the gate or Europa. It is a difficult choice, here you find at every door, the world on a street, with no jetlags. Enjoy!
