Left on 04/02/2013 for a stay in March 2013
There is really not much to complain about in this very well-equipped two-bedroom, two-bath apartment, except some of the supplies most travelers take for granted in their accommodations was absent. No soap or shampoo and no toilet paper was provided. And the kitchen was mostly absent of any cooking supplies, except for a bit of leftover olive oil and salt. So going shopping at a Pingo Doce supermercado located about six or more blocks away will be the first order of business before settling in. However, fortunately, it is a comfortable place to settle into. The owner must have been a serious world traveler, as the book shelves are filled with guide books on nearly every major country and city. There are also several shelves of movies for viewing, but since this apartment is located smack in the middle of the bustling Baixa central city, it's not likely you will want to stick around home for an old movie or two during your stay when there is so much to see and do just out the front door. And while you have a well-equipped kitchen, there is a street filled with restaurants, albeit mostly of the the touristy kind just outside as well. The bathrooms could use some updating, but otherwise this apartment is a good value in a great location. You have no excuse for not having fun in Lisbon from this convenient centrally located base.

LondonSuperb apartment, super central, with everything you need!
Left on 03/14/2013 for a stay in February 2013
We stayed at this fantastic apartment in February. It's as central as it gets, beautifully appointed and even has a lift!
We were very pleased by the efficient and warm welcome we had when checking in (the freebie bottle of wine was an unexpected pleasure!). The ability to pay the deposit by credit card and not having to find bundles of cash for a damages deposit were a big bonus. Having rented lots of apartments all over Europe, having to find working cashpoints and taking out large amounts of cash is the biggest hassle when you've just touched down, not to mention the security risk of carrying it around town until you can check in.
It is slap bang in the middle of town - on a pedestrian street in Baixa and 2 minutes walk from the metro station (extremely easy access to the airport). And there are no steep hills to drag your suitcases up (a common problem in Lisbon!).
The apartment was a real home from home - beautifully decorated with lots of personal artefacts, books and videos fo guests to enjoy. 2 large bedrooms, one en-suite, both with powerful, hot showers. A very large, light and airy lounge with three floor to ceiling windows which all open out onto a Juliette balcony. Plenty of space to lounge around on three sofas! An i-pod dock, cable TV and video machine for those who want in-house entertainment.
A large-ish, fully equiped kitchen was the real draw for us as we like to shop and cook like locals when we travel. A proper oven and gas hob, large fridge freezer, plenty of pots and pans, kitchen knives etc meant preparing meals was easy and unstressful. The only, tiny niggle was that the coffee machine was the drip-drip type, as we like a morning espresso - so we mentioned to our host that it would be good if they could provide a stove-top espresso maker for future guests. But as there are excellent cafes on every corner of every street in Lisbon, it was no more than 100m from our front door to a hot shot of black gold.
A 5 star reccomendation!Response from Traveling to Lisbon - 03/18/2013
