    Additional Location Information

    Location and Surroundings
The apartment is in a traditional area called Lapa, where old mansions, churches and convents (all remodeled to fit different purposes nowadays) will still give you a little taste of what the area has once been. Besides, its high location will provide you an unforgettable view over the river and the dockside.
Its a neighborhood that is stiill highly sought after by locals, not only for the high quality of life it provides but also for being an area that is both close to the river and considered part of the centre of Lisbon.
Here you will find the true spirit of the city, where old traditions coexist with young and modern lifestlyles.
Avenida 24 de Julho, is a very famous avenue that runs in parallel with Cascais railway and Tagus river, and its located only a 3 minute walk away.
If you are looking for a more cultural or culinary oriented stay, you’ve come to the right place! You can find the emblematic Museu de Arte Antiga (Ancient Art Museum) only a 3 minute walk away from this fantastic apartment, where you will have the oportunity to appreciate remarkable works of art ranging from sacred to indo-portuguese art.
After visiting this surprising museum, enjoy a few cocktails at Le Chat, a recently opened street cafe with a stunning view over Tagus river.
Due to the apartment’s prvileged location we suggest that you catch a train and, after 15 minutes of a pleasant journey, start enjoying the lovely beaches od Cascais. This will give you the opportunity to mix your city tour with a pleasurable swimming experience in the atlantic waters of Portugal. The same train allows you to go to the area of Belém, where Mosteiro dos Jerónimos (an old monastery), Torre de Belém (a tower) and Padrão do Descobrimentos (a monument) are must-see attractions that will astound you not only for their architecture but also for their sumptuousness. In the end, its impossible to resist the typical and delicious Pastéis de Belém.
After passing through the riverine zone you will reach the docklands. Its has a harbour and a small Marina surrounded by several restaurants with a privileged view over the river. And since you are around, don’t fail do visit Museu do Oriente!
You can opt for moments of culture, leisure, fun or even sports around the area. Enjoy the sunset to jog by the river.
Walk a few more meters and let Terreiro do Paço – the most visited square in Lisbon – astonish you. Later, walk around the commercial area of Baixa, where you will find all sorts of items.
If what you want is a bit of exciting nightlife, you are in the right place! There is a wide variety of venues from Avenue 24 de Julho to Cais do Sodré, ranging from bars, night clubs, restaurants and exhibitions. You should start the night with a drink around “Pink Street”, especially at Pensão Amor – an old building, originally a brothel highly visited by sailors that would moor at Cais do Sodré, now turned into an emblematic trendy bar where you can still see the bedrooms of the prostitutes now converted into shops, show rooms, hairdressers etc
    Welcome to Lisbon!

    Transportation
The closest underground station is Cais do Sodré, located a 13-minute walk away – this will be the most efficient and easy mode of transport that will take you anywhere in the city. You can also try the trams 25 or 28 that will ride thorugh the main neighborhoods and touristic points in Lisbon. As stated before, the train is a good option to take you to the area of Belém or to the beach. Taxis can also be easily found anywhere in this area
