Apartment number 96 is placed in the slope of one of the 7 Lisbon hills, between Baixa and Bairro Alto at the second floor of the same building of apartment 15.
From there you can easily walk to most of the historic neighborhoods. It is on the second floor (as the terrain is steep, the back of the apartment corresponds to a fifth floor) of a building designed by the famous Portuguese architect Cassiano Branco. We were a group on 9 pepole (with 3 kids) and we enjoyed a lot the apartment, which was large, comfortable, and with a large and well equipped kitchen. The living room has a nice view on the city and the location is perfect to reach by feet any major "turistic" area (Baixa, Alfama, Chiado, etc.). Very close to public transportation (bus, metro, taxi).
Only to note that the apartment heating is electical. Nonetheless we were in Lisbon in winter and the various electrical heaters worked very well.
It has also to be highlighted the good and prompt support we had from Travel To Lisbon (TTL) organization for any need we had (transportation, change in arrival/check out time, fixing of one shutter, managed for a baby sitter for one evening, etc. etc.).Response from Traveling to Lisbon - 01/16/2013

My family and some friends had a lovely stay in apartment 96. The TTL representatives were very helpful and made our stay very comfortable. The apartment is large and contained everything we needed. The location is excellent - just 2 blocks off of avenida de Liberdade - and is just a 5-minute walk from Rossio. I very much recommend both apartment 96 and TTL in general. Thank you so much for helping to make our time in Lisbon so memorable.

we would rate this rental in the excellent category. Part of our group arrived on the weekend & needed help with the clothes washer & someone came right away. Service was just great. The apartment was large & since it faced a number of directions we could always get a breeze - lovely. The kitchen had everything we needed, as did the rest of the apartment. The location was perfect - right in the middle of old Lisbon yet far enough away from the night clubs so noise was muted. Just down the hill was the metro & just up was a nice park for our groups small children to work off some energy. We loved having the bedrooms away from the living/dining areas. All in all, it exceeded our expectations by far & we would absolutely return.

A group of 8 blokes find out 24hrs before leaving UK that their accomodation is flooded.. oh poo... Travel to Lisbon were excellent we had 2 apts all sorted for same price and one was a complete upgrade. The level of service we received was second to none and and trust me I am not easy to please. The apartment itself was comfortable and spacious. My biggest complaint is the street it was located on. It was extremely noisy at night (workers outside moving dumpsters at 3 am? Drunkards screaming out the window). The street was also dirty and run down, with people sleeping on the street a half a block away.
The size of the apartment was great for our large group, and we could walk to many places which was great and helped make up for the streets down below although truthfully, I would choose to stay in another neighborhood next time. -

I was there with three friends in Dec 2010. We booked with Traveling to Lisabon agency.
1. When we arrived the lock was not working so they gave us another apartment with 3 bedroom instead 4 so two of us had to share a bedroom. The apartment they gave us was nicer than this one but still, one of us didn't sleep well because the other guy was snoring and this is why we wanted and booked 4 bedroom apartment at the first place.
Also, we lost almost 2 hours on the check in because of this and 2 hours on the second day to move back.
2. They didn't have airconditioning or centeral heating so they gave us some heaters which could heat approx 30-40% of the apartment. There is a toilet in the kitchen with a hole that allows the cool air to get in so the kitchen was freezing - there was no need to put things in to the fridge.
3. The linen were not white and it didn't look and smell clean enough.
4. One of the twin bedrooms has stuff in it that smelled really bad so a guy how sleeped in it had to keep the window open even thow it was December (and it was really cold on those days).
5. The don't have a proper internet access so I had to hire a mobile internet connection stick with them. This is a real rip off - 10 Eur per day and you get a total of 10 hours regardless if you use it or not. Clock is ticking if you are connected.
6. When they were moving us in the begining a guy said we will get a discount becaise of what we have been through. We needed to pay 740 Eur for the apartment + 40 Eur for the internet and we got 20 Eur discount, can you belive it!
All in all, the apartment is OK for spring and autum I guess but don't go there in the winter or summer and aske them to give you white linen and to clean up the bad smelling room!

However I would like to take the chance to reply to your items, as we have a high standard of service and place the comfort of our guests above all. Firstly I would like to apologise since you experienced a problem with the door lock on arrival. Unfortunately this was not a problem that we could have predicted, and indeed we had been at the apartment earlier that day and did not experience any problems with it. We suggested you go for dinner so you did not have to wait and when we could not fix the problem that evening we tried to upgrade you to an even better apartment, which is indeed one of our best. I am sorry that you found it not to be appropriate as a temporary solution, whilst we sorted the problem in your apartment. Regarding the comments of the flat, I would like to point out that the hole in the toilet in the kitchen you mention, is in fact a proper hole for ventilation and if it is fantastic in summer indeed can be less pleasant for winter. We take great care and pride in our apartments so we have taken on board your comments about the linen being a bit worn out (it is an apartment in high demand) and the smell, which I regrettably did not notice when I was in the apartment earlier that day.
We really appreciated you being so accommodating and understanding that the door lock problem and the unexpected move to another apartment was beyond our control; we would have not let an apartment with a defective lock.
Just as a note and a suggestion regarding the Internet usage you commented on, I am afraid that the clock is always ticking once you are connected, even if you meant to disconnect but didn´t.
On behalf of TravelingtoLisbon we are sorry and saddened that none of the problems you mention here were brought to our attention during your stay as we would have made it, as we always do, our point to rectify everything immediately, to guarantee you would have a fantastic stay in our apartments.

The apartment has a great location with good accessibility to the main sites.
I did ask for all 4 rooms to have the beds made up but only 2 were so we had to make up an extra 2 rooms but fortunately enough bedding available.
Bathroom could also do with a decorate and new shower curtain needed.

El pasado 4 de Diciembre del 2009, mi familia y yo viajamos a Lisboa, para pasar unos días de vacaciones. Nuestro objetivo era buscar una casa que estuviera cerca del centro y como no, que no le faltara de nada,en cuanto a comodidad y agradable a la vista. La verdad que este apartamento está precioso, es amplio, se respira limpieza y frescor en cuanto a la decoración...bueno habría que decir que pasamos mucho frío.Es cierto que durante esos días azotaba un temporal de frío y lluvia en toda Europa...pero el tiempo no impidió que disfrutaramos al máximo de nuestra estancia allí.Lo pasamos muy bien y estuvimos como en casa!! Lo recomiendo a todo el mundo, tanto para pasar unos días como para larga temporada.

Stayed in apartment 96 in June 2009 for a few days , it location is ideal , close to the city centre , only a few minutes walk from the lively Bairro Alto , and the main train station. The apartment has excellent facilities , good sized rooms, and a great view of the city.
