An apartment with lots of natural light. You can enjoy its private terrace!

This apartment is located in the 4th floor (with elevator) of a building at Chiado where Paço Ducal was. Today it belongs to Casa Real. The building is completely remodelled. Apartment 227 and 228 are at the same building and apartment 229 is at the building next door.

Located on one of the main streets of chic and active Chiado, you will be surrounded by trendy cafés and shops. Definitely it is ideal for a stay in the city during holidays or for business...

The subway is at a few steps away and is it also walking distance to the train... stations that can take you to the beaches around Lisbon, to Sintra and to all the sightseeing in and outside the city.

There are two public parking garages at your disposal within a 5 minutes walk.

The apartment has 80 m2 and has been renovated to include the following:

*

one living room with sitting and dining areas, cable TV, DVD and stereo

*

a bedroom with two single beds (100 cm x 200 cm);

*

a bedroom with double bed (160 cm x 200 cm) that can be divided in two single beds;

*

a bathroom with bathtub;

*

a kitchen is fully equipped with electric stove and oven, dishwasher, washing and dryer machine, microwave and a fridge with freezer.

The building has an elevator.

All the rooms are provided with central heating and air conditioning.

Wireless broadband access available for those who have their own laptop with Wi-Fi compatible equipment.

There is a garage in another building not far away form the apartment that can be used by our guests. Contact us to know about prices.

We will welcome you with a bottle of wine.

Apartments 227 and 228 are at the same building at Rua Duques de Bragança. Apartment 229 is located in the building next door.

There are several other apartments at Chiado.

Chiado as re-emerged from the ashes of the big fire in 1988 after about 10 years. All the investment made in the renewing of this area, conciliating elegance of the past with the modern needs of comfort and design made this the most appreciated and expensive neighborhood of central Lisbon.

Chiado is considered the most beautiful area of historic Lisbon. It was a place of residence of the Portuguese royalty and of the political and cultural elites. Nearby are located the theatre S. Luis and the opera S. Carlos. A little further is Camões square (Praça de Camões), next to Bairro Alto, picturesque but raffish. Part of Lisbon's nightlife is concentrated in this quarter, where you can hear 'fados' being sung in some restaurants and cafés. Chiado and Bairro Alto are where locals and tourists meet, with elegant hotels, old cafés and the best international fashion shops. The flats are also a few minutes walking to a lot of trendy shops, and to the famous café Brasileira.

A 5 minutes walk takes you to the the funicular Bica and also to Rossio, in Baixa, the neighbourhood rebuilt after the earthquake of 1755. In the direction of the river, you can find Praça do Comércio, centre of the old Portuguese empire near the river Tejo (Tagus river).

It is close to shops, restaurants, cafes, banks, cash machines, public transports (inc subway station Baixa/Chiado station 50 meters away and electric trams) 24 hour taxi stands, etc. Also in the same square there are a pharmacy and a post office, as well as grocery shops within 5 minutes walking.

To go to Sintra or to Óbidos you must catch the train at Entre-Campos train station, which is just a short subway trip from Chiado.

The nearest airport is Lisbon International Airport at 12 kilometres; the nearest railway station is International Station of Santa Apolónia at 1 kilometre.

  This place was perfect for our vacation. Close to the Mercado da Ribeira, and very close to the metro, cafes, and shopping. The apartment is on the top floor so the tram going by only sounded like a rumble.
  
  The staff at TTL were super friendly and responsive. We would absolutely work with TTL again!

  La prima cosa che ho notato è che la casa è esattamente come appare nelle foto sul sito! Quindi nessuna brutta sorpresa! Grande, luminosa, accogliente, super accessoriata, pulitissima. Nella camera matrimoniale c'è un letto a tre piazze! Ed anche i due letti singoli nell'altra stanza, sono più grandi dello standard. Il quartiere è bellissimo e le metro molto vicina. Insomma esperienza super positiva. Unico inconveniente: non ci sono supermercati o negozi di alimentari nelle vicinanze, quindi anche solo comprare acqua o saponi o frutta, è problematico.

  The apartment itself was fantastic - it was in a great location, well presented and had fantastic amenities, eg. washing machine etc. One recommendation is that it would have been nice to have a starter pack (as we've had at other apartments) - for example with some soap, washing powder for the machine, coffee and tea. Otherwise, a great stay!

  In the heart of Chiado

  We spent 5 days in Lisbon with my elderly Mom in mid-March and had a very pleasant stay. The apartment was ideal for us, it has 2 bedrooms which is nice if you are travelling with a friend and you'd prefer not to share the bedroom. There is a perfectly equipped kitchen, a very comfy living room, TV with lots of channels, heater/cooler which we loved as one day the wather was rainy and cool and it was nice to switch the heater on. There is a lift in the building, it is a great plus for less agile people. The apartment is quiet, teh beds are super comfortable.
  Location is very good - it is a 2 minutes walk to Rua Garrett, the stop of the famous tram 28 and the metro.
  There was only one little thing which we would have needed, better information about shopping possibilities as there are no shops nearby. I mean tha basics, like juice, fruits, milk,etc. We were told to go to Rossio and indeed, there is a big Pingo Doce but you have to walk upwards (almost vertically) with your shopping back to the apartment. So better option is to walk down to Mercato Ribeira (or take the metro to Cais do Sodre), buy what you need at the Mercato and at the Pingo Doce supermarket at the Metro/train station, then take the metro for 1 stop back to Baixa/Chiado and walk the 200 meters downwards to the apartment.
  
  All in all, it was a nice experince but now, that I have some idea about Lisbon and I know what a challange walking there can be for people with walking difficulties, I would rather stay close to Pombal Marquis Square where you can find the tourist buses. If you have no such problems than you could not find a better place to explore Lisbon, really.

  fantastic local position, many restaurants within the area, so easy to get to, even by walking. Service of apt did not happen though even when it was supposed too as the booking was for 9 nights - disappointed!
  Needs booklet or pamphlet in English on how to use the clothes dryer, especially relating to emptying the drawer top left corner (took a long time to work out the pictures in other languages about the condensation drawer).
  A small container of milk, a few tea bags and coffee would be nice for a cuppa on arrival instead of then having to find a supermarket after 2 days of flying.
