Description
This is a typical city house from Lisbon old town, renewed as a triplex. On the ground floor there is a charming kitchen and a spacious living /dinning room. on the 1st floor there is a small toilette and a suite: a 17m2 double bed sleeping room and a bathroom - connected by a corridor lined with closets. From the small balcony of the room you can see the Parliament building. On the 2nd floor there are 2 more sleeping rooms, with 2 twin beds each, and another bathroom. The house has a standard capacity of 6 persons, but it can receive 8 persons, for it disposes of 2 extra beds.
You can visit, at a walking distance, Lisbon's Botanic Garden, the National Ancient Art Museum (where you'll be able to see the original Hieronymus Bosch tryptic "Saint Anthony Temptation"), The Parliament House, to go to the opera, at the National opera house, to watch to cinema cycles at the National Cinematheque (original version). You'll be able to walk through Lisbon's old town, or catch the tramway, the "28", to try the cafes and restaurants from the charming Flores square and the stores, cafes and restaurants from Bairro Alto and Chiado. You can also try a sailing lesson in the river (the Tejo)

Response from the owner It is the first negative review the house receives, after all these years, and I am sorry to know you didn't enjoy your stay. We must admit this came as totally unexpected to us, particularly because, having met you in the house in more than one occasion to attended the several requests you've made during your stay (more ice-cubes recipients, help to turn the cable-TV on, etc.), you never gave any signs of discomfort. We do hope you are luckier in finding a place that meets your particular expectations on your next trip. Even though we find yours to be a very unfair review, we accept you consider it expresses your honest opinion — to retake its tittle. Just as we have accepted the honesty of the 18 positive reviews we have previously received, 14 of which rated the house with five out of five points. Tripadvisor’s rating is just the result of all those rated-reviews put together (they don’t rate any house/flat themselves) and that is why the house is highly rated in their platform. Even after your review, which has now a specific weight of 1/19 in that rating — as much as any of the previous 18 reviews, but, obviously, not more. The content of all those great reviews written by previous guests is actually the best answer to yours, which is why we have decided to provide your particular opinions with no specific comments ourselves.
