We stayed in Lisbon for a week and we were glad that we decided to go for an apartment instead of a hotel. Sao Pedro I is in a lovely alfama area, with lots of fados places around. Actually, there was no need in going somewhere to listen to fado, every evening we just opened the kitchen window and listened to the beautiful songs (so, it is not a quiet area, but we loved it). The apartment itself was tiny but very cosy and very well furnished and equipped. We have a small problem with a shower - the water went down the drain really slow, but that was the only complaint.

A prefect solution for those looking for a place clean, well furnished, conveniently located. Me and my girlfriend have been here for 5 days in august 2013 and all went very good. Just to mention two small cons (but that's just to be 110% true), Portugal is about to have political election. Why is that relevant? Well, everywhere there are works to restore old buildings meaning from monday to friday you'll hear a bit of noise because of that. Nothing major though. You'll sleep more than fine. The small road (walking only) is not packed of night bar or so. You'll find nice location round the corner but not just out the door.
Another small inconvenience have been the two italian guys that were living in the flat above our. They had the insane habit to make a lot of noise from two to 4 am. Something like moving chairs or so. Also, one of the two was often smoking keeping his cigarette out of the window... al the ash felt down on our clothes hanged on the wire to dry up... We are italians and we were ashamed having such bad compatriots. Sorry about that. Shouting "Stop it" should be enough to get back to the normal calm of your flat ;)
Said that I'd definitely recommend that place! aside the two downs I wrote all the rest is very good thus no need to write poems. Location perfect both for walking around and get to the main touristic area as well as for having all around (nice restaurant, bars, mini market). We rented a car to drive south to algarve later on and the parking lots (free of charge) are nearby. Remember Lisbon is a very small city. Don't get mad about locating the nearest tube... everything from alfama is walking distance but if you really need public means, you got'em close by. Last but not least, the location is safe (almost all the city doesn't look very dangerous at every time of day or night).
Very interesting experience

We liked our stay very much. Apartment well equipped. A little tight but in a very good location. Had to experience the Sant antonio festivities... Did not sleep for 2 nights.

The apartment was just what was required, clean and tidy, with all necessary amities. Easy to find and the rep for Heart and Soul was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the location, especially where the local supermarket was. Would definitely recommend to anyone for a short stay in Lisbon.

We recently stayed in this apartment and thought it was wonderful. The tiny street it is located on provides you with an intimate and authentic look at Lisbon. At night, Fado music wafted in our windows mingling with the chatter of passersby. Noisy? I little-- but it all calmed down by midnight. The apartment itself, while very small, was laid out very efficiently. The combination washer/dryer was particularly appreciated and the kitchen was outfitted with everything you would need. We were met by Goncalvo (sorry about the spelling if it is wrong) who was extremely helpful and forthcoming with ideas of where to dine and how to negotiate the winding and confusing lanes of the alfama. Of all the places we stayed on our trip, we felt this apartment allowed us to best become part of the culture of the city. Would definitely stay there again.
very pleasant,convenient, eventhough bit noisy

I stayed in one bedroom apartment. Apartment was cosy, small but it did not miss anything. It was in the heart of alfama and it was closed to everything. Little con was that it was noisy as there is restaurant with fado right bellow. But if you love fado than there is no problem :)

The flat was well located. It was small but well furnished, the materess was very good and large.
The only matter was insuffisent noise insulation and very loud fado restaurants in the street (even if it makes the stay even more authentic).

This is a small, but very conveniently located apartment. It's close to a bus stop and within walking distance of many tourist interests. We had everything we needed in the apartment to cook simple meals. A small heater kept the rooms warm. The bed was comfortable and the price was reasonable. There were shops for groceries and restaurants either on the same street or in the nearby plaza. It's easy to catch a taxi nearby if you need one. The apartment owners were very accommodating with our early arrival and late departure.
The flat to be in Lisbon!

I was travelling to Lisbon for the first time, with my elderly mother, who has some mobility issues, needing a wheelchair for long distances. The flat was in the alfama area and very picturesque. The cobble-stone streets were a bit difficult for the wheelchair, but not impossible - we certainly managed. Anyway, the flat itself had everything you could ever need for a home away from home, and it was in pristine condition. The location is perfect within the old historic section and easy walking distance to shops/restaurants and a metro station (maximum 10 minute walk). Eduardo and Freddy did everything possible to make our stay pleasant, especially with my mother's mobility issues. Lisbon is a great city to visit, and this is a great location from which to visit it. I would definitely stay here again.
A fantastic place to stay!

in the hearth of alfama, we have enjoyed the location close to facilities , restaurant, train station... and just 10min walk from the City center.
A cosy house to share family holiday!
we just loved it and we are sure everybody will feel the same.

We spend 1 week in the appartment. It´s small, but much bigger than it seems on the pictures. It´s perfectly equipped with everything you could asked for. The location is very good for exploring the city of Lissabon. You can walk everywhere or take the tram or tube close to the appartment. Alfama is a lively district - so it´s a bit noisy in the evening and in the morning.(no traffic- just many chatting people, dogs, fado singing, noise of people enjoying the quarter) If you´re very sensitive you should take your earplugs with you. Anyway it´s a very nice place to stay with lovely and helpful people who are running it.
