Apartment full of charm, that combines ancient features and materials (tiles, stone walls, wood structure) with modern decoration! Ideal to accommodate families and groups! (3 bedrooms; 2 bathrooms, 1 toilet, max people: 10). Experience the authentic Lisbon in a perfect balance of old and modern! (wheelchair accessible!)

Situated near Rua dos Remedios in Alfama, in a quiet and calm street without traffic, this apartament is full of charm and a mix between old and modern.

The apartment is on the ground floor of an ancient building that was renovated recently . The recovering works tried to preserve the most typical and traditional... materials, like old tiles, wood structure and stone walls, and the result is a charming apartment where it was added a mezzannine (1,85 m height) with a third room!

The apartment even has part of a cannon that was found in the area, used as table leg's (you can see it on the living room photo, with a yellow lamp on top). Here was the site of the Artillery Factory since the 16th century!

On the main floor it has:

* 1 bedroom, with private bathroom, with double bed

* 1 bedroom with double bed (can be prepared as twin beds)

* 1 bathroom

* kitchen fully equipped

* living/dinning room

Upstairs, in the mezzanine, (just attention that the ceilling height is 1,85 m) there is:

* a small working area , where you can put your laptop if needed;

* TV room with a double sofa-bed

* and 1 bedroom with 1 double bed + 2 twin beds (or another double bed) + toilete.

The bedrooms are interior(no windows) but they are very confortable as it is an "old construction" with thick walls that keep the temperature inside almost always constant either in winter or summer.

Wheelchair accessible apartment (located in the groundfloor) and suitable also for people with mobility issues.

Central location in the heart of the Alfama neighbourhood.

The apartment is at walking distances from some of the hottest points in the city.

Walking distance (indicated by Google):

- São Jorge Castle (9 min) , Se Cathedral (10 min), Museu do Fado (5 min) , Praça do Comércio (15 min), Rossio - downtown (20 min), Chiado and Bairro Alto (25 min).

Less than 5 min from all kind of transports!

- Santa Apolonia Metro/Train Station (4 min), bus stop (4 min) with lines to airport, Belem, Cais do Sodre (that serves Cascais), Expo area, modern centre... and of course, close (5 min) to the famous 28 electric tram.

  Modern funky apartment - perfect for our pre teen family of 5.

  We visited in the winter was pleased there was heating for every room. Nice touches such as fluffy towels, bottled water, tea coffee salt pepper etc
  My husband could just stand upright in the the mezzanine floor but the kids loved it up there in their own private area. Apartment was very clean and freshly painted. The metro station just down the road, buses and taxis all nearby. Small convenience store and bakery 1 min walk away. Visit the Taberna Moderna for Portuguese and Spanish tapas. Modern and funky. Rua dos Bacalhoeiros, 18, Lisbon 1100-070, Portugal The street had a few nice looking eateries. Check in service was great very helpful and they have a great guide of things to do and places to eat in a folder inside the apartment.

  I stayed in this apartment with my sister and my daughter. For the price of one medium-grade hotel room we had each a double bedroom and bathroom . The standard of fitting is good and the agent was very welcoming and helpful. The apartment is full of interest and character and above all we loved the location and felt safe even at night wandering back past small shops and restaurants. Disadvantages: it has been said, but none of the bedrooms or bathrooms have windows and there are electric radiators and fans only. The top floor has a very low ceiling which my teen daughter just about cleared with her height of 165cm. This aside, it is a lot of apartment for the price and we felt part of the local area in a way we could never have done from a hotel. Top tips from our trip: dinner at Largo and the foodie Segway tour . The little port shop near the apartment is a friendly place to buy port or wine. Getting around from the apartment is easy and we walked everywhere using public transport only for Belen and to try the famous elevadours. Do both on one day as the 5euro travel daypass expires if not used. Obrigada to all at Heart and Soul Lisbon from three happy travellers .

  Había hormigas y nos encontramos una super-cucaracha.
  
  Dijeron que iban a dar aviso de fumigar pero debían conocer el problema ya que había trampas y un bote de insectida ya casi gastado.
  
  Además el wifi no funcionaba.
  
  Espero que realmente solucionen el problema porque no me importaría volver.

  Great trip to Lisbon

  We visited Lisbon in December 2011 and stayed at these lovely apartments. Our group had 5 people, but to stay in these apartments can be 8-10.
  
  Very good location in old town, there's the beauty of the history around you. Nearby are many small cafes with fado, this is not for tourists and for those who appreciate local traditions.
  
  At the same time, not far from the apartment is located railway station, there is a metro station, there is a good supermarket.
  The apartment is beautiful, it has everything for a good rest after walking in Lisbon. Historical reasons are organically combined in the design of the apartment. It is very clean, cozy, comfortable.
  
  Owners of the apartment were very kind, all wishes were fulfilled. Also, we have received from them many valuable and useful information about Lisbon, entertainment, public transport.
  
  I will recommend this apartment to my friends. And also look forward to meeting again with the Lisbon and be sure to stop in these apartments.

  Beautiful apartment with great location in Lisbon

  The owners of the apartment were extremely helpful and friendly, and went out of their way to make our stay as easy and enjoyable as possible. Eduardo welcomed us to the apartment upon our arrival and gave us lots of of useful information about the city - as well as a number of restaurant and bar recommendations which turned out to be fantastic.
  
  The apartment itself was incredible - really beautiful and extremely well designed. The photos reflect it accurately. It was a really special place to stay - with the restored original brickwork and lots of great features.
  
  The location was great too - the bus stop just a couple of minute's walk away took you straight into the centre of town, and also to the station where trains take you to Belem. Plus it is located in the heart of alfama, with great walks, bars and restaurants on your doorstep.
  
  We had a fantastic stay in this apartment, and I couldn't recommend it highly enough.

  This apartment was fabulous for our stay. We are a family from London who visit Lisbon at least once a year, we stayed in the apartment with the other half of our family from New York. The house comfortably slept the 7 of us and it was nice because the children had the TV upstairs while the adults had a room to socialize downstairs. The quirky features of the apartment were particularly impressive, the living room and kitchen were bright and airy. The apartment has lots of individual features that made it unique but it also made it feel like home. It was located in an amazing area, slightly set back from the main road so it was quiet but with less than a 2minute walk you're surrounded by life. We would definitely stay again, hopefully soon.

  The apartment was absolutely wonderful. Beautifully decorated and appointed with all the equipment one could want. Especially loved the hoist for getting heavy luggage to the second level. The owners had thought of everything! Their prompt respons to issues (there was a blackout one night) was much appreciated.
  
  Would recommend this apartment without hesitation and hope to stay there again someday.

  We loved Lisbon it has so much to do,we easily filled a week.Sintra is well worth a visit too,the Palace in the mist!
  Fatima met us off the train and drove us to the apartment,then spent half an hour giving us directions and local knowledge.The apartment itself was lovely and right near the metro/train station.Also it was an easy walk to the city centre.We would recommend this city and apartment without hesitation.

  This apartment is exactly what we needed! The apartment is completely refurbished but kept the charm of an historical building.It is very comfortable and a lot of space (2 floors) for our child to run around...
