Apartment in Lisbon - Chiado, 2 Bedrooms, 3 Living rooms, 1 Bath (Sleeps 4)

This charming, spacious and sunny home with a large terrace and extensive views over the old city and down to the harbour is located in one of historic Lisbon’s most glamorous neighbourhoods – the Chiado.

This is what has always been considered the noblest part of the city, with its quiet streets and squares lined with imposing mansions, museums, churches, art galleries, bookshops, and the odd government ministry. The nearby (less than a minute walk) Praça de Camões and Largo do Chiado (and its cafés Brasileira and Benard) are privileged meeting poi...nts for Lisboetas and tourists alike, who are drawn by the impressive concentration of theatres, exclusive shops and high quality restaurants.

The 28 tram stops around the corner from the flat, and it is not much farther to the Bica cable-car (elevador) or the metro. A ten-minute walk down the hill brings you to the Cais do Sodre train station (Estoril-Cascais line) or the ferry for trips across the Tagus.

World-famous theaters such as the Trindade or São Carlos Opera are close by, as is the more exuberant and down-to-earth Barrio Alto neighborhood, where the streets become narrower and the nightlife more animated. This is the true home of the soulful fado music of old Lisbon, with a wide variety of venues quite literally at your fingertips.

Recently renovated, this large two-bedroom apartment (110 square meters) is fully furnished and equipped with all the amenities needed to ensure that no matter how short your stay, you will feel very much 'at home' in the heart of the Portuguese capital.

It is located on the third floor (no elevator) of a residential building around the corner from the Ministry of the Economy. The main façade faces east with several large windows opening into the main living room, a smaller sitting room and the master bedroom, while the west façade opens onto the terrace (50 square meters), with direct access through the kitchen or sun living room.

Natural sunlight thus floods the apartment in both morning and afternoon.

The master bedroom has a double bed, while the second bedroom is provided with two single beds. Extra bed linen and towels are available. Baby bed, high chair and other child facilities can be provided on request at no extra charge.

The kitchen is fully equipped and supplied with all the culinary basics (coffee, tea, sugar, olive oil, vinegar, salt, pepper and other spices, etc.). If you prefer not to use the cooker, you can always try the barbecue grill on the terrace (charcoal provided).Read more

Additional Location Information

Supermarket, grocer’s, bakery, newsstand, cafés, hairdressers, banks, etc. are all very close indeed. Also, two covered parking garages are located within 100 metres.

Nearby is the Santa Catarina belvedere, with outstanding views over the harbour, while a short walk through Bairro Alto leads to the pretty Principe Real park, which has a play area for children.

The 28 tram takes about 10 minutes in one direction from the flat to reach the equally romantic Estrêla Garden. In the other direction it passes through the Baixa shopping district before winding through the old neighbourhoods around St. George’s Castle.

Children doesn't pay. For stay of 5 days or less each extra person up first 2 is charged 10 Eur/night.

Refundable deposit damage of 50 euros is due at check in.

The rental price includes all additional costs, linen, towels and Internet access. No cleaning or reservation fees. Weekly housekeeping included for one week or longer stay.

A deposit of 30% is required to confirm the reservation. Balance of 70% required to be paid on arrival with the delivery of the keys.

Check-in and Check-out times are usually flexible, unless change-over days overlap between guests. In this case, check in is after 2:00 pm and check out is before 11:00 am.
In case of cancellation we shall refund funds received, minus a 100 Euro administrative fee, if the apartment is re-rented for the same dates.

  We spent a delightful few days in Lisbon at this apartment. Alberto is attentive and eager to help with anything you might need. The neighborhood (Chiado) is quite hip, and close to shopping, restaurants and awesome coffee shops. In fact, there is quite a diverse selection of restaurants available in the area. In addition to Portuguese food we also enjoyed sushi, Indian, and Italian food during our stay. The terrace is large and offers a nice view both during the day and at night. We spent our mornings out there eating breakfast and enjoyed glasses of wine in the evening. The kitchen is small but efficient and the beds comfortable. It is an older building, which adds to its charm, but be aware that you will have to walk up three flights of stairs and some of the rooms (the bathroom in particular) has a low ceiling. If you are looking to stay in a typical Lisbon neighborhood I would definitely recommend this apartment.
