Sue and Greg the owners let us live our own life ,no interference at all ,just gave us information when we needed it ,left us totally alone and were great to live next door to.
The property itself was comfortable ,kept in very good order and a place we felt very much at home in .
The property itself sits three quarters of a mile from the lane that runs from the a54 into Sutton which is a large village on the edge of Macclesfield . The Sutton area is surrounded by a plethora of good pubs and eating houses and within the village there a post office stores and a very fine butchers who also sell fresh bread . Curlew Cottage is a short distance from Macclesfield Forest ,superb for walking with the climbs of Teggs Nose and Shuttlesloe near by .we never expected Cheshire was going to be so good and of course the historic town of Buxton just a few miles away on the a54 one of the most exciting drives in Britain. O.K we had good weather which helped ,but Sue and Greg the owners were absolutely brilliant a big plus particularly as we had a seven month old pup with us .

This is an excellent base for exploring both Cheshire and the Peak District, with Manchester nearby too. At the same time it was a little off the beaten track, so very peaceful to come home to after an active day.We were made really welcome by our hosts (including a very nice cake!), the accomodation was clean and comfortable, and the kitchen very well equipped for self catering. If you prefer to eat out, there are several good pubs and restaurants within a five - ten minute drive. The garden, with its view down the valley over the drystone wall was lovely to sit in sipping a wine or beer, listening to the cows tearing up the grass in the field next door.

Very friendly welcome with a card, beautiful sponge cake and flowers waiting for us. Nothing was to much trouble The countryside around was glorious. The cottage was very well cared for, clean and found we could relax with no worries. We would certainly go again and perhaps stay a bit longer.
