Sydney, AustraliaPerfect for a family celebration
Left on 01/27/2013 for a stay in December 2012
We spent Christmas at Littonfields Barn with our sons, their partners and their family. Others stayed in nearby accommodation and B&Bs.; It was a wonderful experience made perfect by the warm and comfortable barn with it's welcoming fire and large eat-in kitchen where everyone could gather. Bridget and andrew were most accommodating providing us with extra chairs and plenty of fire wood. Litton is a beautiful village in a beautiful part of Derbyshire, midway between the Peaks and the Dales and I would recommend Littonfields Barn to any family wanting the very best place to stay.

A group of us have been going to the Peaks for new year's for the last four or five years and this time we left booking somewhere a little late and went for Littonfields Barn which looked lovely but was a little pricier than we were used to. However, the moment we walked through the door we knew it was worth every penny. Masses of space, fantastic facilities - underfloor heating, en-suite showers in almost every room and even a games room!!! We've booked a couple of places that have claimed to be for 12 but this really is. There are also a number of walks that can be accessed without driving or any faff which was handy, a nice pub down the road which was even handier and the small town of Tideswell a 20 minute walk away so even the location was perfect. The owners were friendly and responsive, booking easy. All brilliant.

London, United KingdomFabulous family holiday accommodation

Our extended family stayed at Littonfields Barn for a week over the Easter break this year and it was an absolute pleasure to stay there. The barn was beautifully decorated and had ample accommodation to suit all of us, including children, and provided pretty much everything we could possibly have needed during our stay, including every bit of kitchen crockery and utensils you could think of, a highchair and stairgate for the littlest one, plenty of comfy seating in the living room for all 9 of us, games and dvds, plus a games room, and the chance to feed the newborn lambs too. It's situated in a fabulous central location within the Peak District and we managed to visit Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, both within an easy drive. I would definitely recommend this for a large family or group getaway.

Just spent a fantastic weekend at Littonfields Barn. Bridget and andrew were great hosts. Making sure we had everything we needed on arrival and even giving the youngest members of the group a sit on the tractor and tour of the calf barn. the accommodation was first class, and the games barn had something for everyone- playhouse for the youngest members of the group and pool/table football for the older members. the bedrooms were spacious and all had en suite bathrooms. the barn is situated in picturesque litton- which boasts a traditional pub within 5mins walk from the accommodation, a great outdoor playground for kids and a whole host of picturesque walks. we would really recommend Littonfields.

My stay at the barn was a wonderful surprise for me which was arranged by my husband and family to celebrate my birthday. Sometimes surprises can come as a disappointment but this one certainly was not - it had everything to make the weekend perfect and more besides, including a welcoming bottle of champagne! The accommodation is clean, stylish and very comfortable and you really felt that you were able to relax too - you weren't afraid to put your feet up or lie on the sofa! We were 11 in total, including 3 children, and there was enough space for us to enjoy each others company or take some time out if we felt the need. Bridget was lovely and encouraged the children to help with feeding the lambs, which they loved, and when asked to choose some of their favourite moments from the weekend this came top of all their lists! The kitchen is extremely well equipped and we had all the utensils and pans we needed to knock up some delicious food - the slow cooker was particularly useful! The linen, towels and bathrooms were all spotless and, very importantly, there was an endless supply of hot water. A very special barn situated in a beautiful village and picturesque surroundings. All round, quite perfect!!

We stayed at Littonfields barn for the feb half term with 2 young children and extended family. The barn itself is beautiful with ensuites to all bedrooms of a fabulous standard. The kitchen/dining room is tremendous and the fantastic lounge with wood burner and squishy sofas makes it very difficult to leave. The added bonus of the games barn right next door was brilliant and the kids loved it. The finish to the overall barn is 5 star and to see the new born lambs this week was the icing on the cake. Bridget and family were brilliant and we will definitely be returning.

We have just spent four wonderful days at Littonfields Barn, and what a beautiful place it is. I have travelled extensively for the last 25 years, and have been fortunate enough to stay in some of the worlds best hotels. I have stayed in lots of barns and villas all of a very high quality, but I can honestly say this ranks in my Top 10. We were a group of 12, and we never felt at any time during our stay that we were on top of each other. The house is very very spacious, and each bedroom has an en suite, with an extremely comfy bed, cosy duvets and ample room for you to hang your clothes. The showers are all power showers and everything in this barn is clean!!! The kitchen is fully equipped with every gadget you require, there wasn't anything we didn't have. The living area was sooo cosy with 3 very big sofas and a gigantic bean bag, a welcoming fireplace, and gorgeous high beamed ceilings. Our son enjoyed all the games, and Dvd's they had to offer and especially enjoyed the games room over the courtyard which provided him with a wendy house and lots and lots of fun toys. The men loved the pool table and the table football. It was also lovely and warm in there. We had a small get together on the last day with about 30 people. Everyone loved the barn, and at least 4 of them have asked for details as they too would like to stay there for a holiday. It's a wonderful place to entertain!!! Bridget the owner is so sweet, and as it was my mums 70th birthday she bought her a lovely bouquet of flowers. She also took my little boy around the farm, where he saw the livestock and even got in to a tractor. Littonfields Barn in my opinion is a 5* place, and somewhere I will certainly be going back to. Thank you Bridget for everything.x

Just spent a wonderful week with friends in Littonfields Barn and highly recommend it.
Great location as base camp for mixed group - plenty of walks and beautiful countryside but also in range of lots of National treasures such as Chatsworth and Haddon Hall ...and for those who prefer to potter around the shops we can recommend Bakewell.
The accomodation is wonderfully decorated and really is as nice as the photos suggest...all furniture and decoration was in top class condition and as a previous reviewer mentioned the owners really has thought of everything...we were never short of anything we needed in the kitchen, bathrooms are well equipped and wi-fi or plenty of games if your staying in too.
Definitely worth a visit -

We stayed at Littonfields for a friends big birthday, the phot'os look beautiful enough on the internet, it looks even better when you get there. The furniture is beautiful, beds and bedding fabulous,Bridget has literally thought of everything, if you have forgotten anything, don't worry you can be sure its in the barn. There's tea, coffee etc to start you off, lovely toiletries in every en -suite. Even with 9 adults theres ample space, the men loved the separate games room and had a three day pool tournament. There are recycling bins for bottles, cans etc etc which we thought was great. Bridget is so helpful and does an amazing job, we didnt want to leave on the Monday. The walks around the area are wonderful, we had plenty of fresh air, along with the good food and wine!
We would totally recommend staying at Littonfields Barn, don't delay get booking, you won't be dissapointed -

Wow - this wonderful and luxourious accommodation definately lived up to the details on the website. A Truly beautiful and homely Barn, exceptionally clean throughout and everything to a very high standard.
Each room was clean, spacious and modern and designed with comfort and to a high standard.
Kitchen area was well equipped with more than enough crockery and cooking utensils and with no expense spared, and we were supplied with tea, coffee and milk to get us started.
Bedrooms were beautiful, clean and airy, with excellent quality beds and linen which made our stay very comfortable. Showers were also to a very high standard.
Within our party we had children and the barn was child friendly and we were supplied upon request suitable safety gates and a travel cot.
Living room was absolutely gorgeous with plenty of comfortable sofas, bean bags and arm chairs to provide enough space for a large party of people! There were Books, games and Dvds within the living area for all ages which was fantastic.
The games barn was another additional bonus providing games, a pool table and football table and a wonderful wooden wendy house which is fantastic for the kids and various other toys and things for the younger children! Totally perfect for everyone of all ages!!
Everything within the accomodation was exceptional and well thought through. There wasnt a thing that we could complain about throughout our party!!!
Also within the villiage was a new park with great facilities,a shop which was well equipped and pub nearby!!
The owners were friendly and accomodating and took time out to give our children a tour of the farm on Sunday Morning which was really kind and the kids loved it!!

Me and 8 other people stayed at Littonfields Barn for my hen weekend in May this year and had a fabulous time. The Barn has been decorated beautifully, was immaculately cleaned and has everything you would need including en-suites in every bedroom, making it an ideal place to stay for friends, families, couples, etc.
There is ample parking space and a games room also, suitable for adults and children with a pool table, board games, etc.
The family who own the barn are lovely, very accommodating and will even show you round their working farm, which we did and was lovely to see, including the new calves they had.
Also, they were very helpful when our minibus didnt turn up and recommended other companies we could use.
We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and I would recommend this accommodation to anyone. -

We holidayed for a week at February half term with our 2 adult children & spouses plus 5 grandchildren aged 3-10 years. We couldn't have chosen a better venue. The barn conversion has been exceptionally well done with lots of space & a superb kitchen, & it contained everything we needed. The play barn adjacent was an absolute bonus, & we all made use of it several times a day. The location is excellent for walking or cycling, & the village pub was just what on old village pub should be. It was easy to get to Buxton for shopping, & only a short drive to Castleton & Mam Tor. There are plenty of eating places within a short distance for evening meals out.
The owners, Bridget & Andrew couldn't have been more hospitable & welcoming, & as we arrived at lambing time they were more than happy to let the children vist the new born lambs. The weather was as good as could be expected in February, & we all came away feeling totally relaxed & renewed,- not easy when there are 5 small children involved! Finally we can highly reccommend Bridgets' reflexology. -

Just spent a fabulous family celebration at Littonsfield Barn. The accommodation is very well equipped and tastefully decorated. There was more than enough room for our party of eleven adults. Bridget and andrew were very welcoming and we appreciated the extra touches. We particulary enjoyed the tour around their working farm and seeing the new born lambs. The position of the accommodation is excellent, with walks from the doorstep, and the Red Lion pub serving excellent food and read ale just down the road.
