This guest home is in Livingston Montana, 50 miles from the north door of Yellowstone National Park. The north door of the park is the only door that is open all year. Livingston is on I90, 20 some miles from Bozeman, home of Montana State University. Livingston has the population of about 7,000, Bozeman is about 40,000. There is outdoor adventure abound including hiking, rafting, fly fishing, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, skiing, downhill skiing in Bozeman, bird watching, wildlife viewing, etc.

The house is less than one mile from the nearest Yellowstone River boat access, a golf c...ourse and an off leash dog park. The cottage is pet friendly. It is in town nestled in a family type neighborhood. It is about 1100 square feet. There are 2 bedrooms, one with a queen bed, the other with 2 twins. 2 full bathrooms. There is queen size inflatable bed and one small roll away. A big living room, a dining area, a kitchen which is stocked well with dishes and pans and some little emergency treats like coffee and coffee beans, tea, a little pasta, etc. -just in case you come in after a long day and don’t have time to get groceries. Great place. Private backyard with deck and gas grill. It is in a family type neighborhood. The house is chocked full of warm character with wood floors, some original to the house, original board ceilings in kitchen and main bedroom., wonderful artistic flair in the palette and character. Original art work abundant on walls. We, as owner/operators try to run the house in the most sustainable,green way possible. Bamboo towels, dishes, cotton bedding, cleaning with eco friendly cleansers, etc. except where regulation and safety require germ killing,etc. Do not expect a highly watered groomed lawn. We only water plants and the plants that we have added are native. In dry years the lawn will also be dry.

House and area amenities include: pet friendly, no smoking!, wireless high speed internet, (no tv or cable- you must stream for that), in house desk top computer (mac) for your convenience for streaming or music, wood burning stove, gas heating stove, gas grill outside on deck, and laundry.

Some guests have reminded of the fabulous star gazing to be had right from the deck in the very private backyard. Sometimes there may even be some northern lights. They are not the crazy spectacular ones that folks further north see, but they can be very entertaining nonetheless.

Livingston is the most beautiful town in Montana. Stunning view down Main Street business district of the mountain range above. Additional Location Information

This neighborhood is a basically a family type neighborhood in a small town with modest homes. Deer walk the streets in the winter and in the fall we are sometimes visited by black bears who like to knock down our trash cans. There is ample street parking directly in front of the house. The drive to Yellowstone River is less than one mile. The walk to the river is accessed on a city dog park trail. The town golf course is also less than a mile. Downtown Livingston is about a 15 minute walk but most people drive there.

  What a great find this place was! Spent a long weekend here with girlfriends in September. The weather was perfect, crisp mornings, warm afternoons, and clear, starry nights. The house is lovely and so comfortable. We were a group of three but with 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths and a large living area we could have easily been more and not felt cramped. The kitchen had everything we needed and having laundry on site was great, especially if you're into outdoor activities. The owners were attentive and eager to help with local info from great restaurants to a good rafting company. They live nearby so were available for problems (of which we had none) or questions, but they certainly didn't intrude on our vacation time. The drive to the north entrance of Yellowstone was just under an hour on easy roads. You can walk into town in 15 minutes but there is a little micro brewpub just around the corner in case you're feeling lazy. We loved sitting in the private backyard. This would be a great place for families looking for outdoor activities in a comfortable setting, 2 couples could share this and enjoy relaxing together, but it's also the perfect romantic getaway. Base Camp Bungalow seems to have it all and I'm definitely hoping to get back soon.
