The flat was really great. It was spacious for two people. Everything we could have needed was there, even a little balcony! The location is fantastic and we could reach all the sites we wanted to visit by foot. Loads of nearby restaurants and bars, but the actual road it is in is quiet and peaceful. Melina was great, she organised a driver to take us to and from the airport at a really cheap price. Also when I realised I had forgotten to bring a power adaptor, Melina's driver took us to the store, explained what we needed and we had what we needed within minutes. Would highly recommend this place.

First of all: 5 stars are for the the hospitality of the owners and what you get for the price!
It is very close to the city center, nice bars, docking station for bikes (= bike rental for just 1 Euro per week), bakery, supermarket and river just round the corner.
What we liked best:
- personal communication and information beforehand via e-mail
- any everyday commodities at your disposal (umbrella, coffee powder, hair-dryer...)
- immediate processing of any request you might have
The owners were very gently and generous. We arrived on Tuesday at 6am by night train and left at 11.50 pm on Sunday night. It was most generous by Milena and her husband to pick us up that early in the morning and let us stay in the apartment until late in the evening on Sunday. Surely this was because there were no other guests before and afterwards - but still it is most generous and helped us a lot in organizing the trip!
Choosing this apartment will contribute to a relaxed stay in this wonderful capital! -

Nous avons passé 4 nuits dans cet appartement situé dans une rue piétonne, a quelques métres du vieux centre de Ljubljana ou se trouve les bars et restos de la ville !
le studio est très bien équipé, en electroménager et méme avec le nécessaire de base pour manger (café, sucre..)
Milena vous accueille et vous renseigne avec gentillesse et est joignable a tout moment pendant le sejour !
Le seul point négatif, du a sa localisation c'est le stationnement lorsqu'on a une voiture. Autour du studio les places sont payantes et par période de 3h uniquement. Sinon a 1km du studi (10 min a pied) un parking a la journée est disponible, ce qui facilite les choses !
je conseil vivement cet appartement très bien situé et trés propose, et calme : (alors qu'on est en cengtre ville) ! -

Milena was extremely friendly and helpful collecting us from the station and providing us lots of information about the city and transport links. Milena was on hand throughout our stay when we had a problem with the washing machine it was fixed within hours.
The apartment is really cosy and fully equipped. It is conveniently located and we really enjoyed our stay. -

The first plus was when Milena picked us up and returned us to the train station. The second plus was the location, close to the center with its bridges and restaurants. The third plus was the studio itself, comfortable with a balcony. The upstairs studio was a little cold at first, but warmed up nicely.

We were visiting Ljubljana for a short break for our 25th wedding anniversary, on arrival we were met at the airport by a friend of the owner who took us to the apartment for a reasonable fee, I'd very much recommend this as it is about 30 minutes drive. The owner was waiting at the apartment to meet us and she greeted us warmly, she showed us around the apartment and explained where some of the local essentials were Markets, Pubs, Bakers etc. We were also welcomed with a chilled bottle of champagne to get our break off to a good start. The apartment had everything in it that we could have wanted, it was warm and bright with all mod cons. 10 minutes away by foot is the old centre of Ljubljana, full of restaurants, bars and shops. The trains and buses were 30 minutes away and easy to use. We visited the castle using the funicular railway, Postonja Caves by train and foot and we also visited lake Bled using the train and bus. We also had plenty time to eat out, enjoying Chinese, Asian and local food. Union and Lasko are the local brews of which we had a few. One major bonus in the apartment was having free wi-fi and digital TV which happened to show sky football.
During our break it snowed heavily turning the city centre into a christmas card scene, easily a foot of snow...to their credit this does not slow the Slovenians down roads and paths well cleared.
We got taken back to the airport by the arranged driver which was a great help at the end of our stay.
Overall we had a great time on our visit and I would suggest if visitors want to be their own boss, do their own thing and have a small home from home this apartment will fit the bill. We heard virtually no noise from neighbours even though there is a small bar barely 10 metres away.
The apartment is close to the river.

This apartment was everything we could have wanted! We were looked after from start to finish by the owner, who was kind enough to collect us from the station and drop us off again when we had an early departure. The apartment was warm and spotlessly clean, with everything we needed and more (tea, coffee, and soap powder were even supplied). Great location and in a quiet pedestrianised street within a short walk from Ljubljana town centre. Lovely balcony for breakfast. Would thoroughly recommend it to anyone and wouldn't hesitate in staying again. Thank you very much!

My friend and I spent a long weekend in this apartment. It was well equipped with more than we needed or used. Seriously, anything you could want was provided. We didn't have to worry, need or want anything else.
On top of the facility it was the perfect location. Close (5-10 minute walk) to city center but far enough out of the center to be quiet and peaceful. The walk to the city along the river was quite enjoyable as well with many cafes, restaurants and shops close by.
Aside from the place itself, the owner was available to answer questions and lend a helping hand, if needed. She arranged transportation (1/2 the price we would have paid if we did it on our own) from and to the airport. She also gave suggestions of places to see and things to do. She genuinely cared that our stay was the best possible.
This option is perfect for 2 people and definitely more affordable and more comfortable than a hotel. If I ever find myself in Ljubljana again, without a question this is where I will be staying. -

I stayed at this apartment with my girlfriend for 3 nights at the end of November. The hostess Milena was very helpful even before our arrival. We were met at the apartment and everything was explained to us. The apartment itself was clean, warm and very cost and contained everything that we needed. The weather was very bad during our stay so it was a joy to come back to. The prices were also very reasonable at €40 per night. It is very central location, about 5 mins walk to the centre and there is a little supermarket around the corner and some extremely cheap bars right next door. Would highly recommend for a stay in lovely Ljubljana and Slovenia. Oliver and Siobhán

This was the perfect place all around. Perfect location: not too far away from the center but just far enough. Perfect size and perfect set up. There were even all the little things: coffee, tea, sugar, oil, dish soap, etc so that you didn't have to buy all that stuff for just a couple days. Everything was great! You can even have a car come pick you up at the airport for cheaper than a taxi or bus!

Stayed here for a week in november with my fiance, it was raining when we arrived but it was sweet to find an umbrella in the apartment:) plus maps:) the apartment is like a home, perfect for two. its 5 to 10 minutes walk to the city centre for food,shopping and bars, if you walk straight and take left there's a good pizza place and decent chinese restaurant only 2 mins away, pastry shop 3 mins away across the bridge, there's a bar right outside though we never had time to check it out, it never gets noisy. its quiet and peaceful. loved the sound of church bells.
It has a cute balcony that i didnt sit on since it rained half the time and we were out and about.
The hostess malina is simply the best,when i first read other reviews i thought maybe they were just being polite but she's so easy to talk to, lives nearby, is eager to help with anything and is always happy.
The apartment has all necessary amenities and thoughtful ones too like an umbrella, flat iron, hair drier, maps. It was excellent at that price.

Appartment Polona is in every aspect an excellent choice for accommodation if you arrive in Ljubljana. Location excellent, very clean and tide, equipped fantastic.The owners are very kind and hospitable willing to help you as a tourist more the you would expect. All of the recommendations. Milena is an excellent hostess who was most concerned that we had a good, affordable vacation in Ljubljana. She warned us that taking a taxi from the airport was expensive and offered to help get us affordable transport into town. The apartment was well stocked and is exactly how it was described in her advert on the internet.
It is located in a quiet neighbourhood with plenty of shops and cafe's within a 2 minute walk yet is not noisy. I couldn't think of a better location. We spent 12 days there and are intending to book it again when we go back for another visit. -

My boyfriend and I stayed at Polona apartment from the 7th September to 9th September 2012 for a wedding. The studio apartment is spacious, clean and in an excellent location to explore the City. Prior to our arrival we had been in contact with Milena via email and she had notified us of the taxi cost from the airport (which was 40 euro) and said that she would kindly arrange a taxi to pick us up upon arrival for 20 euro so we agreed and did not have any problems, the taxi driver was waiting for just outside arrivals. When we arrived at apartment Polona Milena was waiting outside and showed us around the apartment and gave us leaflets and maps of the area which came in very handy. She was the perfect hostesses.
If you do go to Slovenia I would recommend travelling to Lake Bled, it is the most beautiful place, very picturesque.
Ljubjana is a beautiful City and I would recommend staying at apartment Polona.

My husband and I stayed at the apartment Polona for a week and couldn't have been happier. The owner, Milena, is very warm and helpful. She even arranged a driver, Dusan, to pick us up / drop off at the airport for a great price. Dusan even took us back to the airport to pick up a lost bag and stopped by a supermarket for us to pick up some Slovenian spirits on our way out of town. The apartment was immaculate and nicely furnished. It even came with an umbrella, which was extremely helpful when it poured rain for 36 hours straight. The apt. is perfectly located in a quiet neighborhood that's a very short walk to the river and old city. If we return to Ljubljana we'll be sure to stay here again, an absolutely lovely place.

Me and my girlfriend stayed in Ljubljana for 3 nights and I must say that apartment Polona is truly an excelent place to stay. The apartment was spotlessly clean, spacious and well-equipped. The location could not have been better: the apartment is quiet because it is not in the very heart of the old town, however, all the attractions and great restaurants are just around the corner and easy to reach by foot. Milena and her husband are very friendly and caring people and they made every efford to make our holiday at Ljubljana as good as it can get!

We stayed here for 3 days in June 2012, and the appartment was clean and well presented, with everything we could need for a short stay. Washing machine and full kitchen facilities included. There is a balcony with outside seating however it was raining lots so we didn't use it.
We were provided with lots of information about getting to the appartment, as well as local information about Ljubljana. The main streets are about 5 minutes walk away. Milena was easy to contact and quick to help.

Apartment Ponola was exactly what I needed for a 4-night stay in Ljubljana--a cosy sweet home away from home. Dear host Milena is very responsive with email communication and warm and caring in person. She keeps the place clean, stocks many essentials for cooking, doing laundry and toiletries for short or long term stay. Since she and her husband live near by, they are great for information about where locals eat, drink, socialize and offer help when in need. The apartment is airy, bright and in great location for sightseeing the best of Ljubljana. I wish I could have stayed longer and look forward to coming back "home"!

We have been in Ljubljana before, but after we descovered Polona apartment, we have had even more nice experiance exploring wonderful city Ljubljana.
The location is perfect and despite of central position, the place is very quiet. No traffic, because is pedestrian zone. You can also rent a bike for free, bike station is only 100 m away from apartment. Wherever you go, everything is right there or just few minutes away - restaurants, bars, shops, wine cellar... everything you can reach walking. Owners were very friendly and they were always ready to give us informations we needed.
We would definetely recommend this apartment to friends or enyone for stay in Ljubljana.
