Islwyn is a beautiful cottage in a spectacular location and the lanes up to it were pituresque. The scenery is stunning and the views of Snowdon were great.
The cottage was clean and cosy and the underfloor heating was lovely. The garden is a suntrap and lovely to sit out in in the evening.
With loads to do in the area, it is a great base for a holiday.

Apretty cottage located on a hillside with views towards the lake.
Quite quirky inside with lots of different floor levels, a nice cosy little patio which was a real sun trap.
The journey to and from the cottage from the main road did become a bit tiresome by the end of the week.
All in all a wonderful week.

This was our second visit to the cottage, the first visit had been perfect.
The second visit was mainly good however,
the freezer was totally iced up (you could not even open it), the wood provided for the fire was damp and would not light.
The bin of the adjoining cottage (which is outside on of the windows) had ben left overflowing with rubbish and the foxes pulled it out during the night and it was everywhere. I telephoned the owners and they came and tidied it up.
This is a beautiful cottage, just spoilt by a few issues!

A comfortable stay with spacious accomodation for 4 adults and 1 baby. The kitchen was well equipped and the dining room was lovely. A small conservatory made a good sitting area leading to a small walled patio garden where the fantastic views could be enjoyed. We were lucky and had very good weather which enhanced our stay.
The owners were friendly and mostly helpful, although we needed more towels and ended up buying some. The bathroom being downstairs was also a bit inconvenient.

We have previously stayed at this cottage and fully enjoyed the experience. However, after missing last year because of a house move we found that the usual attention to detail was not as good.
The kitchen had suffered most with very dirty and greasy cooking pans and trays which we had to clean before we could use them. Also the glasses and cutlery were in short supply.
The conservatory could do with some attention as the roof leaked and the paint on the doors was peeling.
I am sure that these had just been overlooked as everywhere else was to its usual high standards.
We are always welcomed to the cottage with fresh flowers and Bara Brith which is a nice touch.
