This charming, 16th Century stone-built detached barn conversion lies in the grounds of the owner's historic farmhouse - often featured in Country Living Magazine. Situated on the slopes of the Cain Valley one mile from Llanfechain, this property is full of character. Original features include ceiling beams, exposed wall timbers and sloping roofs. With many walks and cycle pat...hs nearby as well as the charming market towns of Welshpool and Oswestry, this wonderful cottage makes a great base for anyone looking to explore north Wales.

Primarily composed of stone-built black and white timber framed buildings, the village also boasts a welcoming traditional pub. The hills and Berwyn Mountains are renowned for their bird life and visitors can enjoy walking and cycling through the lovely scenery. For other bird watching opportunities, the spectacular Lake Vyrnwy is also nearby and hosts a fascinating nature reserve. All prices are inclusive of the booking fee. The "Min. Per Night" prices quoted are based on the weekly rental price, they are not applicable for short breaks. See our short break policy or ask for further details.
Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

  The coattgae was very comfortable and well equipped. However the approaches to it left a lot to be desired, especially when it is raining. One has to go across a field to get to the cottage and it becomes very muddy and slippery especially with a car.

  Thank you for your review. We would like to point out that this property has a concreted driveway with grass in the middle for aesthetic reasons and no other guests have had a problem with access using normal vehicles. The property can also be accessed by a council maintained road to the rear. We continue to receive excellent feedback for this wonderful property and over 90% of previous customers would recommend this cottage to their family and friends.
