Description from the manager
Nestling in a natural tapestry of woodland and water, these 3 charming apartments form part of St Conan’s Tower, a unique and historic Tower House, overlooking Loch Awe. The Tower was built from granite from the nearby Cruachan Mountains 100 years ago. A unique feature is the ’Tower Lounge’ (shared with all apartments) which boasts amazing vistas across the Loch and mountains to Kilchurn Castle. The surrounding woodland garden can be enjoyed by guests who can loose themselves in this true haven of tranquility and relaxation at any time of the year.

Loch awe was a great place to "center" and then travel outward from. The owners are friendly and accomodating. If you are afraid of chill and weather, go elsewhere! Bothered us not at all. Always wanted to stay in a "castle" - I got to do it in Conan's Tower! One comment - place needs a full length couch. Love seat is worn out and too small to be comfortable and recline on.

Our goal was a unique Scottish town with a historic ambience in a beautiful landscape - this we have found here. We lived at the top of the tower and were overwhelmed by the beauty and tranquility.
The St. Conan's Tower you can take as a good starting point for tours - and particularly liked was the railroad. Here you can enjoy the beautiful scenery very well.
The facilities are good - we liked the wifi access - TV there as well, but not necessarily needed on vacation.
We wish the owners much luck in the further work on Conan Tower.

We had a fantastic week at Loch awe, we stayed in the Cruachan apartment in St Conans Tower, it was excellent, could'nt fault it, the accommodation, the scenery, the local people and pub were all outstanding.

I would thoroughly recommend the above vacation rental. The location is lovely with views over the loch and it is ideally situated for touring the local area whether it be in the car, on a boat or just walking. The property has an excellent standard of cleanliness and is cosy and comfortable. The owners are extremely friendly and provide a first class service. Mr Bullock, the owner, travelled 25 miles from his home on a bleak, rainy evening to sort out the smoke alarm which had accidentally been set off by another holidaymaker. Cruachan apartment is on the third floor reached by a winding staircase so would not be suitable for disabled guests. We will certainly visit again! Thank you Steven and Shona Bullock and Mackay's agency.

Ideal two-person apartment for west coast lochs and mountains; pub-grub within walking distance with other eating places a short drive away. A good touring centre or a peaceful hide-away. The small lounge at the top of the tower, with views over loch and mountains is a gem - especially early morning or dusk.

CardiffFantastic week!
Left on 07/24/2011 for a stay in June 2011
We had an absolutely fantastic week staying at St Conan's Tower. The apartment was great with absolutely stunning views of Loch awe. There are loads of beautiful places to visit and we really enjoyed walking, taking a boat out on Loch awe, visiting some of the islands and eating great seafood.
For anyone who is looking for a week to "get away from it all" we couldn't recommend anywhere better.
