Description from the owner
Hazelgrove enjoys an elevated position overlooking Loch Ness, at Inverfarigaig, midway down the south eastern shore of Loch Ness, in the heart of the Scottish Highlands and 16 miles from both the city of Inverness and the village of Fort Augustus.
The cottage has a charm all of its own, with stunning views over Loch Ness to the famous Urquhart Castle. The veranda is for long summer evenings to watch the sun go down over the loch. Miles of waymarked trails meander through Farigaig forest, to some of the finest viewpoints on Loch Ness. The kids and dogs will love it and with a secure fenced rear garden, you can relax with peace of mind. I...Read more

Peace and tranquility in a beautifil location!
The cottage was outstanding, the cleanliness and facilities were excellent and the views to Loch Ness were fabulous. The location and gardens were ideal for the dog, with plenty of walks from the door. Inverness and Fort augustus are within easy reach and the local shop at Foyers sold everthing we needed that we had forgotton. Overall a fantastic get away holiday and will hopefully be back. Thank you Fiona and Graeme for the loan of your beautiful house.

Peaceful
Enjoyed our four night stay here. The house was clean and well equipped. Nice little welcome pack for our arrival. The garden was great for the dogs - can confirm it is escape proof! Lovely walks right on the doorstep. Tesco do home delivery which is a bonus, saves driving all your food to the cottage. Great shower! Has a woodburner and an aga (which unfortunately wasn't on as it was still a little too warm). Free wifi which is great as the tv reception is not good (I know you shouldn't be watching tv on your holidays!).

Failing to find anything wrong about Hazelgrove
And we did try. What could be wrong with the location, in the middle of the Highlands, perfect for any car trip? Wrong with the place itself, clean, spacious, perfectly decorated and very comfortable? Wrong with the lovely owners, who welcomed us like friends?
No. There is a time when you have to stop trying and just enjoy life. We did.
Yes, there is one problem with Hazelgrove. Leaving it.

Wonderful break
This was our first stay in Hazelgrove and it lived up to the excellent reviews! The cottage itself was spacious, clean and comfortable, with lovely little touches such as a welcome basket of food and drink on arrival. The views are especially amazing, both of Loch Ness and of the beautiful garden with its abundance of wildlife.
Right on the doorstep are extensive forest walks, which were especially enjoyed by our dog Dexter, who charged through the ferns and trees, splashed through rivers, and even got to chase a deer on the last day! If you are travelling with your dog this place is really perfect - amazing surroundings, as well as a fully dog proof, enclosed garden.
We had a few days trips too, to the Falls at Foyers, the beach at Dores, and round to visit Urquhart Castle. Evenings were spent cosying up in front of the wood burning stove with a glass of wine and a film - bliss!
This really was the ideal getaway and we will definitely be returning in the near future.
