Beautiful cottage great location
A lovely cottage in a quiet location with fantastic views over Loch Ness. Everything you could need is provided, and the cottage also has a large garden where we saw all manner of birds, plus a red squirrel. Plenty to see and do in the area too.

Hard to beat.
A lovely well equipped cottage both inside and outdoors. It is in a beautiful location and the large secure pet friendly garden is a bonus . Woodland walks from the door, we loved it. tesco.com delivered the shopping soon after we arrived so couldn't be easier.
Fiona and Graeme have everything covered and it is obvious the comfort of their guests is their priority. The dog treat in the (most) Welcome Pack was much appreciated.

Fantastic cottage in a stunning location
We have stayed at Hazelgrove with our two dogs on several occasions over the last few years and can't recommend it highly enough. The garden and dining room enjoy fabulous views over Loch Ness and the cottage is extremely comfortable and well equipped. The owners, Graeme and Fiona, always give us a warm welcome.
The cottage is perfect for anyone with dogs, having a large, securely enclosed garden and walks from the doorstep. You can walk out of the door and straight onto a track that takes you into the forest - or a few minutes down the road, and you're on the shores of the Loch. Depending on how far you want to travel, this is also a great base for exploring other beauty spots such as Findhorn and the Black Isle.
We've stayed in many lovely holiday cottages in Scotland and Hazelgrove is certainly one of the best, both for its facilities and its wonderful location.

Wonderful cottage and location. Views outstanding
Hazelgrove is a lovely, comfortable and pristine cottage. The views from the cottage are wonderful. You cannot fail to relax at Hazelgrove. Cannot recommend it highly enough.
most cosy and dog friendly cottage we have ever stayed in
We found this cottage to be supberb for the dogs and the layour works really well. There was a a lovely welcome pack of bacon, jam butter milk and cereal etc and biscuit bone each for the dogs which was a lovely gesture.
I would recommend this cottage 100%.
The local tesco is only about 6 miles down the road from the cottage, we wont be packing as much food next time as the tesco is very handy as its on the way out to wherever you go for the day towards inverness.
So relaxing and cosy
Stayed at Hazel Grove over Newyear 2013-2014 it was fab we have stayed in many cottages and log cabins but none have topped this one . As soon as you walk in the door you feel at home , they have everything thought of a full basket of sticks for your stove a waiting a cosy evening , the aga was on and the water pipping hot, the bed was very comfy and firm and even some special we touches from some toiletries to a welcome basket, games and books to Dvds, a real Christmas tree and a lovely festive table cloth these are the touches that make this cottage so welcoming and a lovely big secure garden for your dogs.
The views from Hazel Grove are just fab and the friendly visit from the pheasants kept the dogs entertained at the dinning window.
We would highly recommend a visit to Fiona and Graham's cottage.

Fiona and Graeme are wonderful hosts, friendly and helpful.
This has been our third holiday at Hazelgrove. We will definitely return as it is the perfect holiday cottage for us and our four-legged friends.
Superb holiday in a beautiful well equipped cottage
We had a fantastic time with our boys and dogs. The cottage had a perfect garden for our two large dogs and the cottage was attractive, comfortable and had everything we needed. The welcome basket was great as we were able to make a late night meal when we arrived. The area has fantastic walks and the views from the cottage were magnificent.
We would higly recommend this for any family with pets.
We had a fantastic stay made our holiday perfect. The cottage was lovely and the owners were very welcoming and helpful. Very beautiful and peaceful place.
Lovely secluded spot on Loch Ness
Had a great week at Hazelgrove. Perfect location, great/friendly hosts, nice accommodation, lots to see and do and a great base to return to each day after adventure and exploration. Highly recommended.
Not enough stars to rate this holiday cottage, the best holiday we ever had. Stunning views clean cosy and very comfortable, wonderful welcome pack and a warm friendly welcome from Fiona and Graeme. Very friendly locals and great shops cafes and restaurants in Fort augustus where our dogs enjoyed all the fuss they could get.The falls at Foyers are breath taking and the little café and shop across the road where a welcome sight after walking back up. Really didn't want to leave.

What a gem - wish we had investigated staying at Hazelgrove yea
A very special find. The perfect cottage with the most outstanding view across Loch Ness towards Urquhart Castle. The best cottage we have ever stayed in with exceptional extra touches - the welcome hamper for humans, a large dog biscuit for each of the dogs, the well thought out back room which opens onto the fully enclosed back garden perfect for feeding the dogs and cleaning them up after a walk in the forest. The perfect location for a relaxing holiday and revisiting some of our favorite places.
Angus , Alison & the collie !
peaceful retreat in stunning surroundings .
Hazelgrove is a must,Fiona and Graeme made us feel very welcome, We stayed here for a week and totally relaxed and recharged our batteries. Lovely walks around the loch with amazing views.Miles of varied walks to suit all abilities.
The cottage had everything you would need for a comfortable cosy stay. The king size bed was the most comfortable bed I had slept in.
Our collie dog just loved the freedom around the cottage. The morning silence around the cottage was awesome.
Was lovely to wake up and sit on the veranda with a cup of tea, looking out across the loch and watch the squirrels scurring around collecting for winter.
All in all a truly relaxing break away in a very comfortable and well equiped cottage.

Great cottage - wonderful location - absolutely dog friendly
We had a great time in this very well equipped cottage with excellent service. Just ask Fiona or Graeme and you will get everything you want. The cottage is big enough for 4 humans and 5 dogs (Setters). We loved the small room at the rear of the cottage where the dogs could get dry after a good run in the garden or a long walk. We appreciated the secure fenced rear garden very much and went for long walks on the track through the forest which starts just outside the gate. Unfortunately we rarely found any places where dogs can run free (much wildlife in the forest, all fields are fenced and just for the farmers' cows or sheeps). But near the "Dores Inn" dogs can run on a gravel beach and swim in Loch Ness.
We hope to come back next year. It's just a wonderful place.
Hazelgrove cottage - a great home for your holiday
First time for uns in Scotland. We spent one week at Hazelgrove cottage and we absoluteley loved it. The house gave us a nice warm welcome feeling. It is so well equipped. We didnt miss anything. The bathroom is all new and nice. The bed was really comfortable. Fiona + Graeme gave us some fire-wood so we could put the fire on at night, when it was a little bit cold. We felt really relaxed at all times at Hazelgrove. Thank you very much again. We would love to come back again somtimes.
Great place to stay,
It's our second year at Hazelgrove and it just gets better, plenty of walks, great views and wild life, a relaxing, comfortable, quiet, peaceful, what more do you want from a stay in Loch Ness. Brilliant cottage just visit and you'll be back year after year

Best view in Scotland
What a little paradise this turned out to be, the accomodation was spotless, comfortable beds and and everything you could want for, a welcome pack was provided which even included a good bottle of wine, we spent many evenings sitting at the dinning table with a view out across the loch with castle urquart on the other side, it was quiet with a great garden and surrounded by faragaigh forest, the walks were spectacular , the falls of Foyer a must see, Dores Inn does great food, Inverness has all you could want and we loaded our hire car, having travelled up on the overnight sleeper from London, with food from Marks and Spencer so that we didn't need to go shopping again, great space in the large fridge freezer in the kitchen, We drove to Glen affric which is quite the most beautiful place; like fairy land and we also drove out to channory point on the black isle to see dolphins. But really you can just stay where you are and walk in the forest, we sat out on the verandah in the evening and saw deer in the bottom of the garden, rambling hedgehogs , bats and owls sitting on the post in the garden, this is the best holiday that I have had for many years, you get what you pay for and I hope to be able to visit again Fiona and Graeme our hosts were lovely and made our stay something to remember, book early as they are always booked and judging from the visitors book which is well worth a read most people have been here numerous times, why go anywhere else when you find such a gem.
Superb Honeymoon at Hazelgrove Cottage
Excellent cottage with everything in you can think of or possibly need. Graeme and Fiona are very welcoming and a lovely hamper was provided for us on our arrival which was a lovely added touch. The cottage was very spacious with spectacular views all around, we even managed after days of trying to get a picture of the red squirrel in the back garden.
There is plenty of walks arond Loch Ness and a drive into Inverness town where there is a shopping mall and main supermarkets, take aways etc.
My husband and I have never been to Scotland before and we can only describe it as like "driving into a picture canvas" it has beautiful fabulous scenery all around you wherever you travel too and lots of history. We will definately be going back.

Relax & Unwind
Really lovely area and lovely cottage. Hazelgrove is really like a home from home with everything you need at hand.Fiona & Graeme were very welcoming. Ideal for dogs as you can let them out in the secured garden to play without a worry and some great woodland/loch walks right on the doorstep. Hope to return again next year.
Chilled Out Stay
I'LL be back
First time at Hazelgrove and it won't be our last. Would recommend it to absoloutley everyone. Owners very friendly. Welcome basket excellent especially the homemade jam. Layout of house fantastic and setting. Our 3 dogs had a great time and there was lots of space for them both indoor and outdoors and 2 of the dogs were German Shepherds so it caters no problem for this size of dog. Surroundings were breath taking especially sitting in porch looking over Loch Ness even in March. Owl calls out every evening loud and clear. Hope to be back again soon

Nice home in a great location
This was a very good find in the sought after Loch Ness area. The property is welcoming, extremely comfortable and has a stunning location. Situated on the shores of this magical loch, it has lovely views and the walking track through the forest is just outside the gate (ideal for those, like us, travelling with dogs).
We stayed in winter and found the house cosy and warm. It is very well equipped by owners who have obviously gone to a lot of trouble to provide almost everything guests might need to make their stay pleasant and comfortable - even welcoming treats for our pets.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and only wish it was for longer - but we will be back.

Peace and tranquility in a beautifil location!
The cottage was outstanding, the cleanliness and facilities were excellent and the views to Loch Ness were fabulous. The location and gardens were ideal for the dog, with plenty of walks from the door. Inverness and Fort augustus are within easy reach and the local shop at Foyers sold everthing we needed that we had forgotton. Overall a fantastic get away holiday and will hopefully be back. Thank you Fiona and Graeme for the loan of your beautiful house.
Enjoyed our four night stay here. The house was clean and well equipped. Nice little welcome pack for our arrival. The garden was great for the dogs - can confirm it is escape proof! Lovely walks right on the doorstep. Tesco do home delivery which is a bonus, saves driving all your food to the cottage. Great shower! Has a woodburner and an aga (which unfortunately wasn't on as it was still a little too warm). Free wifi which is great as the tv reception is not good (I know you shouldn't be watching tv on your holidays!).
Failing to find anything wrong about Hazelgrove
And we did try. What could be wrong with the location, in the middle of the Highlands, perfect for any car trip? Wrong with the place itself, clean, spacious, perfectly decorated and very comfortable? Wrong with the lovely owners, who welcomed us like friends?
No. There is a time when you have to stop trying and just enjoy life. We did.
Yes, there is one problem with Hazelgrove. Leaving it.
Lesley & Andrew
This was our first stay in Hazelgrove and it lived up to the excellent reviews! The cottage itself was spacious, clean and comfortable, with lovely little touches such as a welcome basket of food and drink on arrival. The views are especially amazing, both of Loch Ness and of the beautiful garden with its abundance of wildlife.
Right on the doorstep are extensive forest walks, which were especially enjoyed by our dog Dexter, who charged through the ferns and trees, splashed through rivers, and even got to chase a deer on the last day! If you are travelling with your dog this place is really perfect - amazing surroundings, as well as a fully dog proof, enclosed garden.
We had a few days trips too, to the Falls at Foyers, the beach at Dores, and round to visit Urquhart Castle. Evenings were spent cosying up in front of the wood burning stove with a glass of wine and a film - bliss!
This really was the ideal getaway and we will definitely be returning in the near future.
this was our first visit to hazelgrove and we were very impressed the cottage was all it was said to be very clean and comfortable everything you needed was at hand the welcome basket of food items was very welcoming even included biscuits for our two dogs.the birds and squirels who visited the garden daily were a joy to watch, the walks from the doorstep were lovely will definatley return
had a lovely relaxing break at HazelGrove despite the weather.
Make sure you take food or use the Tesco delivery service as the cottage is pretty remote, some parts single track.
The garden really is dog proof. Our 4 dogs had a blast.
Nearby Dores Inn (dog friendly) does fantastic food. We visited twice. The beach there is also fab for the dogs. Lower Foyers has a great area too near the shore to let the dogs off lead, as you are asked to be aware of letting dogs of lead in the forrest as many have ran away chasing deer.
Its a really nice drive right round Loch Ness.
Thanks again for a lovely break
Lovely cottage with a beautiful view.
Hazelgrove has everything you need for a home from home. A spacious cottage and very comfortable, clean and tidy. Wild life is varied from squirrel's to a variety of birds to hedge hog's and deer. Beautiful scenery out to the loch and using binoculars you can see the visitor's to Urquhart Castle. The air Force make a appearance usually once a day flying over the loch. A peaceful haven that's highly recommended. Lovely forest walks with rewarding views to loch.
More than you expected
The cottage was clean and very spacious. The welcome basket is a must if your travelling any distance (or if your just lazy after a drive) and use the Tesco delivery service as Inverness is 16 miles away. Everything you need, and more, is in the cottage. Walks, wildlife, peace, tranquility and wonderful views await you. The back garden is huge and secure. We took 4 dogs and they loved everything, like children at disneyland. A word of caution though... on the walks be careful if your dog likes to chase the wildlife, the woods are dense and have steep slopes also we saw deer, pine martins, red squirels, owls etc so there's plenty to keep your dog busy. After a good walk it was great to return to the cottage and light the wood burner, relax with a beer or wine and look at the views while dinner is cooking. Hazelgrove is a great base from which you can explore Scotland. There's so much to see and experience that one week isn't enough time to cram it all in. Book a stay at Hazelgrove and you won't be disappointed.
Lovely Cottage, Fab location so peaceful
Arrived at the cottage which was lovely and so homely. The welcome basket was very thoughtful and very appreciated. Got a lovely greeting off Fiona once we had settled in. Our second stay in Hazlegrove was just as magical as the first. Location is superb. Cottage is very comfortable and extra dog friendly. Weather was not the best but the log burner gave us some lovely cosy evenings. Forest walks straight from the door and loads of wildlife spotting opportunities around the area. We can't think of anything to improve the cottage. Home from Home. Thanks Fiona and Graeme.
Hagelgrove has everything you need for a relaxing and wounderful stay. My husband and I love the cottage and the surrounding area. Relax in the garden and chill out and enjoy the scenery or go for some lovely walks. Theres plenty of things to do if you want a more active holiday. Sitting on the porch with a glass of wine in hand watching the sun go down and the different changes of colours in the is amazing. Fiona and greame who own the cottage are so friendly and make you feel so welcome. Great for couples, kids, friends, family and not forgetting dogs will love the place. It was my secound stay at hazelgrove and I will be returning again.
A fabulous cottage in a fabulous location
This cottage is a superb home away from home, there is everything in it that you could possibly want or need. The garden is lovely, very dog safe and full of wildlife to watch including wood peckers and bats. The walking in the area is excellent and the views are spectacular. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a walking holiday with a nice cosy base to go back to. Sitting on the verandah in the late evening listening to the deer and owls and watching the bats whilst looking out over Castle Urquhart is something you must experience. Peace and tranquility does not even begin to describe it, it is perfection.

What more could you ask for?
Hazelgrove is a beautifully equipped home for both humans and dogs (the garden really is dog-proof). We (myself, my husband and my mother) had a wonderful holiday here. We especially enjoyed sitting out on the verandah in the early evening, drinks in hand, looking out at the green, green trees, hearing the birdsong, and seeing the lake sparkling in the sunshine (of which there was plenty!). We didn't manage to complete the 1000 piece jigsaw in time, though, so are coming back next year to finish it.

Extremely comfortable, pet-friendly cottage with great views of Loch Ness. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday -walking in the forest and beside the loch, going for a boat trip from Fort augustus and chilling out in the cottage. Saw a red squirrel in the garden. Great idea to -offer home-cooked meal on arrival - delicious and very welcome!

Our 3rd trip to Hazelgrove and as ever it was perfect with 1 teenager and 3 dogs in tow, it is very hard to find somewhere that ticks all the boxes, Hazelgrove does that over and over again, it is without doubt the most peaceful, restfull and beautiful setting. With so many places to visit around you and so many glorious walks to take on, everybody leaves satified, well actually the one thing they are not satisfied about is leaving.
A cosy, comfy haven with fantastic views over our favourite loch
Hazelgrove is a wonderful haven set on the banks of Loch Ness. The cottage is very cosy & the owners have thought of everything you would ever need to make your stay there comfortable, a real home from home. The well thought out sitting room was great for us as we could watch a Dvd in the evening while our son worked at the computer station.
Our wee dog Fergus loved the fenced in garden & was made very welcome too, right down to his own treat in our very generous welcome pack. I loved the breath taking views over Loch Ness which changed from minute to minute. The owners Fiona & Graeme were on hand if we needed anything at all & made us all feel very welcome. We can't wait to go back!!

A Perfect Home from Home in a Glorious Location!
We were fortunate to stay at Hazelgrove Cottage for 1 week from 2nd Oct 2010. We chose Hazelgrove from numerous cottages within the Loch Ness area and everything exceeded our expectations!
We wanted a homely environment to get away from the rat race - Hazelgrove delivers that and more! The cottage is immaculate and caters for your every need! There really is nothing you could require upon arrival. You are even given a welcome pack that contains all your immediate needs after what was a very long journey! Thank you Fiona and Graeme.
We wanted solitude - the cottage is situated on the south side of the loch, which is idyllic in every way! The cottage offers views over the Loch to Urquhart Castle, is set back from the (quiet) small road and the garden backs on to Farigaig Forest - perfect for walks and getting lost if your brave and want to leave the beaten track!! It was great lighting the log burner on our return :-)
There are some beautiful restaurants within a short drive away - however far enough away that you feel you are totally alone!
Hazelgrove Cottage really gave us exactly what we needed and we will definitely return! Next time I hope to have dog to bring, as the pets have everything they need too!!
Thank you, thank you and we hope to see you soon :-)
We had a really fantastic week. The cottage has everything you could possible want including a view to just sit and look at,and red squirrels hanging from the bird feeder. If you are looking for a week away from our mad world this is the place. Thank you Fiona and Graeme.

This was by far and away the best self-catering accomodation that we have stayed at in the UK. It is in a beautiful location on the quieter side of Loch Ness and guaranteed to provide relaxtion. Fiona and Graeme are wonderful hosts to boot.

The location and the cottage is managing affectionate.
The cottage is a beautiful green and careful location situated in a very nice garden over Loch Ness. I think that the owner do all with love.

Amazing views, outstanding accomodation, fabulous walks!!!
This was our 4th visit to Hazelgrove, and we will be returning next year. The cottage is wonderful - clean, well equipped and stunning views. The walking is fabulous, so many choices and we are still finding new walks. It is great to be be able to sit on the verandah in the evening and listen to the birds and watch the bats. You absolutely must stay at Hazegrove!!!
Dudley and Diana Browne.
Great cottage with everything you would need for a week's stay and a great holiday. The welcome pack was much appreciated. Even the weather was kind which makes a major difference to everything in Scotland! No midges thank goodness! As to things to do would recommend Fort George and the chair lift up towards Ben Nevis also Culloden Moor and Cawdor Castle. For eating out try Mc Veans in Fort Agustus and the Dores Inn at Dores but you would need to book for the latter. The only downside is that the cottage is so far from Buckinghamshire!
Can't Wait to come back!
We loved everything about Hazelgrove- from the fantastic, dog secure garden to the peace & quiet. But just a beautiful drive away from Inverness, Aviemore & The Great Glen. There is so much that we never got done (great info provided!) that we are booking for next year already. The log burner & aga really set the cottage off & just made it a bit special. Very clean, tidy & in great condition so well done to Fiona & Graeme. Thanks for a great holiday. Definately recommend it.

A great home from home with added peace and tranquility
We have stayed at Hazelgrove twice now and both times have found it to be very comfortable with great facilities. The welcome pack is a great start to the holiday and even our dogs were made to feel welcome! The views down Loch Ness from the living room window are spectacular and really helped us feel like we were 'getting away from it all'. Forest and Loch-side walks nearby and an enclosed garden made this the best cottage we have ever stayed at with our two dogs. Fiona and Graeme are great hosts and have been very helpful with any requests that we have had. The personal touches throughout the cottage really make it worthy of its four star status. We have already booked again for the end of the year!
Fantastic peaceful retreat!
wonderful property in gorgeous surroundings.
The owners really make you feel welcome! They even leave a biscuit for your dog!
Never wanted to leave!

Perfect location and comfortable and homely cottage
Fiona and Graeme were very welcoming and helpful, Fiona had prepared a meal for us on arrival, which was excellent. The cottage itself was very comfortable, it had everything we needed and felt like a second home. The log burner made it very cosy in the evenings. The dining table is ideally situated to sit looking over the loch whilst eating, we couldn't have asked for a better view. It was nice and quiet. The road to the cottage was very narrow, but with plenty of designated passing places, it being the only road round the loch on the east side, I made my new husband do that part of the driving!! We were not too far away from many attractions, Inverness is a nice little town, with a number of supermarkets to choose from for provisions, there is a tourist information office there too.

Whatever you want out of your holiday, it is here.
I have been returning to Hazelgrove year after year as it has everything that I am looking for. The cottage is set in an elevated secluded position, fabulous views of Loch Ness. Fiona and Graeme always make us welcome and I look forward to our catch up chat. Information is given as to what is happening locally and a wildlife update. A welcome basket is provided with some local produce. The cottage is home from home, extremely comfortable. The Dores Inn is 10mins drive for a great meal (dogs are allowed in the bar area). I love the fact that you are out of the cottage and straight into the forest, where there are lots of different walks. Also it is only a short walk down to the lochside. There are many different walks in and around Inverfarigaig whatever your ability. In Foyers you will find a friendly local shop and a coffee shop, it is only a short drive from the cottage. There are many places to visit around the loch with spectacular scenery. A 15min drive will take you into Inverness or Fort Augustus. The Cairngorms and Gairloch are my favourite places to visit. .

Why did we go back to Hazelgrove? Because we couldn't fault our first visit in June 2007!!
We have two dogs and in our experience, letting cottages which allow dogs have at best good standards of facilities, most are mediocre.Hazelgrove has exemplary standards of furnishing, kitchen and bathroom facilities, bedding, and other provisions such as a log fire, computer centre and hooray! a TV that doesn't get ITV!!
The welcome pack of local produce sets the standard for your holiday. Hazelgrove is not for those who don't like isolation - peace and quiet and fantastic views over Lochness.
The proximity of Fiona and Graeme is the icing on the cake. Completely unobtrusive yet always available for help and advice.
We, and our dogs, have enjoyed two great holidays at Hazelgrove - a great base too for seeing much of the Highalnds

A delicious and peaceful experience
My 15 year old son and I had our second stay in Hazelgrove. We'd had such a wonderful time in 2003 and so we were a little concerned that a second visit may not live up to our memories. We arrived to find a thoughtful and unexpected food hamper in the kitchen with a lovely welcoming card. Before long before Fiona arrived to check that everything was fine and that we'd found what we needed. She was so lovely! As she lives next door it was very comforting to know that if anything did go wrong there was a real person nearby.
The home was exactly as we'd remembered it - comfortable, spacious, well endowed with amenities, comfortable beds in beautifully decorated rooms, and a deliciously private location with a lovely view of the loch. We were even treated to lavender products to relax with in the bath!
The location is a key reason why we wanted to return. It's so handy to Inverness and yet we felt right out in the country. The wildlife is a delight. It's an easy drive to Fort Augustus, and also allows for a great day trip to Skye. There are so many lovely nooks and cranies to discover around the loch and further a field but to come 'home' to Hazelgrove at the end of the day added to the wonder of it all.
Our only complaint is that the flight from New Zealand limits the frequency of our visits. We'll be back :).
