This newly built cabin combines the efficiency of modern design with the charm and character of a traditional log home. Constructed from large honey brown logs, and featuring an open-concept kitchen, living / dining room and two bedrooms, the atmosphere is both spacious and warm. Both bedrooms have patio doors that open up onto the deck. The bedrooms have queen size beds; log bedside tables and plenty of closet space. The cabin comes equipped with a four-piece bath.

Castaway Ocean Lodge is located on the tranquil waters of West Green Harbour on Nova Scotia’s Lighthouse Coast. This delightful cottage has a small rocky beach and private ocean access – perfect for launching the cottage kayaks and exploring the shoreline.
Close to Shelburne, with its restaurants, shops and other conveniences, Castaway Ocean Lodge is nicely situated to explore Southwestern Nova Scotia. Yarmouth is a just over an hour away; while Halifax, Lunenburg, Mahone Bay, Peggy’s Cove and Digby are all pleasant day trips.

The castaway Ocean Lodge was more than I ever expected. I rented this beautiful cottage as a getaway for my friends. It was more than I could have dreamed of. I left this place felling 100% refreshed. Can't wait to go back again.
The place was easy to find and the owners thought of everything you might need right down to bathrobes. The scenery is breathtaking. I enjoyed the quiet mornings out on the deck with a cup of coffee watching the sunrise.

We had a fabuluous two week vacation. It was a shot in the dark because we had no prior information on the site other than what was provided. We were not disappointed. The cottage is large and comfortable. It has a well equipped kitchen and the furnishings are top knotch. The site is somewhat seculded that gives privacy with access to the ocean and a very good view. There is an excellent protected bay for kayaking and a good hot tub to relax in after a day on the water.

I stayed at this property over the Remembrance Day long weekend in November 2011 (Nov 11-13). The location on the lake is terrific! The view from the decks that wrap around the cabin are amazing and tranquil. The added nicety of having a hot tub with access to the same views was also terrific! The cabin has an open concept inside which made haning out with friends while cooking, eating, watching a movie, etc very easy. Definitely a great sport and we would go back for sure!

We stayed at this wonderful place for a week and made beautiful memories! We found this cottage serving the web and the service we received from Sandy Lane Vacations was great. It was a memorable moment when we drove up the lane and saw the cottage for the first time with the ocean as it's background..it truly was a jaw dropping moment for us all. What a treat..this cottage has all the conveniences of a home away from home and then some. We really enjoyed the hottub and fireplace at the end of the day, it was great to be able to relax after long hikes. The location is perfect for nature lovers and the peaceful surroundings soothes the nerves, thus it was with much regret we had to pack up and head back home. Really enjoyed our stay and definitly worthy of a return trip in the near future.
