We stayed over Valentines weekend and were welcomed with a bottle of wine, flowers and a roaring fire on a chilly winters evening. The cottage was very clean and we were also presented with fresh eggs from the farm!! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Plenty of country walks and trips to other towns and villages to occupy you. We loved just relaxing in front of the fire with a film! Highly recommend to get away from it all. Read more

Turned up at the cottage to the lights on and the log fire on. ( Guard in place.) Had a really relaxing stay. The owners could not have been more helpful and are very pleasant. We had a new puppy with us and the gardens are really safe. The boy loved the local walks with the dog and really enjoyed the horse riding. Fantastic farm to visit and the free farm eggs were superb, a nice touch. The cottage is up to a really high standard and the en suite bathrooms are clean and certainly not small, the showers are amazing compared to some places we have staid in. The kitchen is large and very well equipped. No complaints. Stay there! Read more

I have now stayed in 12 different holiday cottages, all over the U.K. Without doubt, Beckhead is the best. The cottage is impeccably presented and has excellent fittings throughout. It is also well placed for a peaceful stay in the Lowlands of Scotland.
There is much good walking to be had around annan and Lockerbie. We would recommend the river walk from annan to Brydekirk, but there are many things to see and enjoy within a 30 mile radius.
The owners of Beckhead extended a warm welcome to our party of three (me, girlfriend and dog). Their little holiday complex is exceptionally well designed. Each of the cottages stands in its own grounds - a feature that was particularly appreciated by our irrepressible hound.
We sought a quite walking holiday, but we felt that the cottages would appeal equally to family groups. Children would clearly love to see the animals and horses on the working farm - and this is not to mention the private boating lake and other local pleasures.
We cannot recommend Beckhead Cottage enough. Read more
