In a stunning location on the banks of the ’Water of Milk’ river, this traditional detached cottage is adjacent to the owner’s home ( a former watermill built in 1755) and is perfect for a relaxing holiday in beautiful countryside. The cottage has been fully modernised whilst retaining traditional features and is homely and comfortable, providing a lovely retreat for a couple or a small family - all rooms are on one level. We had 4 wonderful weeks in Bridge Cottage, loved the cottage,loved the setting and a good base for us to visit family and friends,the cottage is very well equipped,about the best equipped we have stayed in, the river, birds,the one red squirrel we saw,the field being harvested and the age of the cottage all appealed to us..it suited us perfectly..we hope to return one day

A very pretty cottage in a lovely setting. Some aspects of the cottage could do with updating (kitchen and bathroom a bit basic), but overall was good value for money. You must also be prepared to drive for everyday items like your daily newspaper, as there are no shops in walking distance. Good location though for exploring the Scottish Borders and Dumfriesshire by car.

It was a lovely cottage with all the amenities and equiped with loads of games and toys for our child, lockabie was only a few miles away, although there wasn't much to do there so we travelled quite a bit.
Unfortunately when we went it was a terrible week of floods and rain "sods law", so as you can imagine very little country walks were possible which was a great shame, in fact because of the bad weather we had to cut our holiday short by one day, but that doesn't detract from the delightful cottage with open log fires and a wonderful stream just a few feet away. Also the coast was only 20 miles away or so and the beach was ok, very out of the way and secluded which was a definate plus point for our son. -

A wonderful holiday. Perfect location. Owners made sure we had everything we could need to make it a nice stay. Accommodation was clean and comfortable.
