Mr.& Mrs. Thoma
Newark, OhioLoved our stay at the Cumberland
Left on 08/25/2010 for a stay in August 2010
The Cumberland was a great place to stay and so relaxing. It is close to a fishing spot on the lake and not far from the caves. The hot tub was great after hiking the caves all day. We loved the look and feel of the cabin and will return again next year if not sooner.

The staff couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. On the day of check-out, we had a maintenance issue and someone came over within minutes to work on the issue. We had a nice and relaxing time at the cabin. We were surprised by the beauty of the area.

My husband and I had a wonderful mini vacation at the Cumberland. We especially enjoyed the wood burning fireplace, which we kept going all weekend. We really enjoyed our stay and plan to return in the summer with our kids (in a slightly larger cabin).

It was our first time to Old mans cave which was really cool. Although, we have stayed at other getaway cabins in ohio before and they were much more private!! We were a little disapointed with the closeness to the other cabins and the road and the 2 houses right across the street! You could hear cars going by. The cabin was very cute and cozy inside and our dog loved the loft!! We were surprised at how much there is to do there! We got massages in our cabin which was very nice. Although, it was kind of weird that the hot tub guy had to come every morning. We closed all of the drapes but we still saw him. I really don't think it needs checked everyday when you are only there a couple days. but overall a good trip!

Akron, OhioCumberland Weekend Getaway
Left on 01/21/2010 for a stay in January 2010
We found the amenities adequate for our weekend getaway. The cabin itself was just as I expected. The only thing missing from our stay were tools for the fireplace. While we were able to build a fire, it was rather difficult to use just the poker to rearrange logs as they burned and fell. The hot tub on the front porch was perfect. However, as we visited in the winter, all the trees were bare, which gave no privacy for us. Quite possibly putting up some lattice work to block this would be an idea, as this would block people's view, but still allow light and air to flow through. Overall stay was wonderful and we will definitely return.

Great stay. We got there way early and your staff got us into our cabin well before the scheduled check in so we could store our luggage safely while doing the zipline. Well organized and no suprises. we will be back.

The staff in the office was very helpful and knowledgable. The cabin and the location was beautiful! It was close enough to the different caves, as well as to restaurants and stores. The downstairs bed was rather hard. The heat pump was SO loud that it woke us up every time it came on overnight. We had to turn the heat off the second night, just to get a better night's sleep. Overall, I would recommend it to a friend.

Canton, OhioNot exactly what we asked for
Left on 10/15/2009 for a stay in October 2009
The home was comfortable, well-furnished and clean - with the exception of the dish drainer, which was stored beneath the sink and so filthy it was unusable. The stove had two burners which had to be seated in the connections prior to use every time, and the oven cooked at least 25 degrees hotter than the settings indicated. There were plenty of utensils, but no knife other than a couple of dull steak knives to cut anything with. Slicing a tomato with a dull steak knife does not work very well.
All of that was minor, but we asked for someplace secluded and Cumberland cabin is situated directly next to 3 other cabins, all within sight and, unfortunately, within earshot of some VERY loud and exuberant visitors in one of the nearby cabins. To make this worse, we were LIED to by the woman in the office when we checked in, when we asked *again* if the cabin was secluded and she said "Oh, yes - there are other cabins around, but you can't see or hear them." Completely untrue.
We'll book our next stay through someone else. -

Lyons, OhioOur stay was very relaxing, fun, and comfortable.
Left on 08/20/2009 for a stay in August 2009
Our stay at the Cumberland was a very nice stay, we enjoyed that it was out of the main stream of people but close enough to all of the local attractions and shopping. The Chalet was clean to perfection, well maintained and the decoration encouraged relaxation after a day of trails and hiking.
The showers were hot with lots of water pressure and soft fluffy towels to dry with. The kitchen was spotless with every thing we needed to prepare our meals and the ice cube trays were full in the freezer.
When we first entered the cabin the air conditioning was an inviting temprature. The hot tub was ready for us and very clean. We enjoyed our daily visits from the mother deer and her 2 fawns still with thier spots.
Our 12 week old puppy was welcomed by all of the staff when we checked in, The staff was the best , very friendly and accomidated all of our needs.
The price for the cabin was less than what we anticipated and was well worth what was charged!
We have recommended the cabin to all of our friends and look forward to visiting again soon.Response from Old Man's Cave Chalets - 08/26/2009
