The town of Varenna, located on a lakeside road not far from this Lake Como vacation villa, is one of several enchanting places you'll want to visit on the shores of Lake Como. The resort towns of Lake Como, including Tramezzo, Bellagio, and Menaggio, are all easily accessible by ferry from this Lake Como villa rental. This villa on Lake Como, Italy, is peaceful and quiet—it sits on top of a hill, at the end of a winding road. Guests can relax in the sunny garden, which offers a view of all three parts of Lake Como.
(242,800 m2) Built in the 1950-60's, this villa is divided into three parts: the main wing (which consists of the ground... floor and first floor) and two lofts (both of which are on the second floor). Guests can rent just the main wing (“Villa Angelina 1,” sleeps 7 people), the main wing plus one of the lofts (“Villa Angelina 2,” sleeps 11 people), or the main wing plus both of the lofts (“Villa Angelina 3,” sleeps 15 people). (Please note: the lofts are not available as separate rentals—only one party at a time may rent the property.) In front of the villa, there is a patio with a table for al fresco dining. Right nearby the villa (15 meters away), there is a recreation room with a living area, dining area, satellite TV, ADSL internet line, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, ping pong table, and a card table. Lovely roses and olive trees grow in the large, enclosed garden. Fifteen steps down from the house, there is a swimming pool (approx. 8m x 5m; open mid-June to mid-September; maintenance included) which is shared with the owner. The pool area also has a bathroom with a shower. The housekeeper's family lives in an independent apartment in the basement of the property. Part of the house in the back serves as the owner's family residence (when the owner is present). There is outdoor parking space for four cars.
MAIN WING: (130 m2)
Ground Floor: At the entrance to the villa, there is a patio/pergola, which offers a lovely view. Inside, there is a living room and a small kitchen with a dining area.
First Floor: Large windows overlook the garden and allow for a bright and airy interior. There is a study, one double bedroom with a queen-size bed, two double bedrooms with two twin-size beds each, one single bedroom with a twin-size bed, and two bathrooms (each with tub, WC). Please note that the single bedroom has no door and is open to the hallway.

We had a lovely time, more limited by the weather than anything else. We had mostly overcast with periods of light rain for much of the week.
The outdoor spaces were lovely. The views are glorious and the grounds well maintained. The grounds are large with plenty of levels and nooks for privacy.
The kitchen was very small and difficult to work in. Only one person could be in there at a time. Also, the drive up was initially quite intimidating for those of us unused to Italian mountain roads! For those, like myself, who like to walk, the options from the house are limited. There is a steep rocky trail to the village and not much else immediately accessible from the house.
We enjoyed Varenna and the ready access to the ferries to other lake towns. Also, there is a beautiful scenic drive from Perledo through Esino Lazio over the mountain pass and back to Bellano. It was overcast on the day we did it with visibility limited, but it would be absolutely breathtaking on a clear day.

Enjoy, enjoy--who needs an updated kitchen when you have such a stunning location on Lake Como.
The view of Lake Como and the swimming pool, which overlooked Lake Como, were the outstanding features.
The kitchen was small and outdated.
The house was convenient to the town of Varenna, where you could take ferries to different towns on Lake Come, and to Bellano, which had a wonderful "open air" market on Friday morning.

This was a celebration for my 50th birthday, and it was the best birthday ever! It was wonderful. Really appreciated our Rentvillas Travel Advisor; she secured a chef who spoke English to do a cooking class. It was really fun. She came with all of the food and prepared a fabulous meal - in the large recreation room. Our Travel Advisor also helped secure a hiking guide who spoke English. It was really great. Also, we traveled with a young child, and the caretaker watched the child one evening for us so that we could go out for a nice dinner. It was very nice.
The villa was absolutely fabulous, and conveniently located. The most spectacular thing was having the use of the pool right on the lake. View is incredible, and the grounds are quite large. There are other villas on the property, but only Villa Angelina 1 has use of the pool. Cleanliness was outstanding - and we have very high standards; we have worked in the hotel business. The villa was very spacious and very well stocked with whatever you could need. There was a cable TV in the villa and in the huge Rec room.
The drive up was narrow and windy - but that's the way the area is.
Varenna is beautiful and quaint - very friendly. Easy to use the ferry to access other areas on the lake. There is a little castle - a 10-minute walk away from the villa - with free entrance. They even had a falconry demonstration there one afternoon.

The grounds of this villa are beautiful. The patios off the villa are wonderful and you'll want to have meals there - but the kitchen is a bit of a challenge if more than one person in your party wants to cook. Having the cleaning service twice during the week was nice.
The view from the pool over Lake Como is unparalleled - this is probably the most beautiful piece of real estate in the region.
The kitchen was tiny and dark. The living room was small and dark as well, particularly in light of the size of the property. It would have been nice to have a bathroom on the main floor. Finally, a pet peeve of mine - there were no wine glasses!!!!
Getting around Lakes Como and Lecco was easy and fun.

The view and the property were spectacular. My wife cried when she woke up the first morning, when she saw the view of the water from the villa front. We both said this is heaven!!!!!!!!!! We both felt like we were on the TV show, The Life of the Rich and Famous.
There needs to be a washroom on the main floor; it became a bother to go up the stairs to use the washroom. The kitchen was very small but functional.
The mountains, roads, towns were amazing. We went for walks every day and the views from above were different every day. You have to be a very good driver on the small windy roads.

We had such a wonderful time and were made so welcome at the villa.
The beautiful swimming pool, terraces, garden and the view!
It was difficult to find in the dark.
The access to Vezio and Varenna is walkable if you don't mind steep paths.

Would go back tomorrow!
The view - magnificent, the pool-clean, comfortable and refreshing, the bedrooms and baths - comfortable, and well appointed, but most especially our hostess was a treasure.
