We booked a one-bedroom w/ kitchen. Self-serve check-in.
The neighborhood between tube and flat was run down. During our walk to the flat, a gang positioned themselves on the sidewalk so we had to walk through them, suitcases in tow, as they taunted us, during mid-day! Not a warm welcome to this flat. We refused to stay in search of a safer envirnment. What good is a short commute to the city if you don't feel safe traveling back and forth? Our decision to leave cost us our 3-night security deposit of £245. Ouch.
Response from Reuven B - 10/18/2012
Owner
I read the review with great interest, and would like to clarify a few things.
The average house prices in this so called run down neighbourhood are well over a million pounds each,I think most people would be happy to stay in such a run down area....
Funnily enough, out of all the many other reviews concerning the flat, nobody else seemed to have any problems with gangs taunting them...interesting....
I accept that they might have been unlucky enough to encounter these yobs, althoughh it has never happened to anyone else ,but to dismiss a whole neighbourhood, which is considered to be one of the better and safer areas of London, because of an incident like that,is a bit like going to the Ritz, seeing a drunk man ouside swearing, and deciding ,based on that, that the hotel is in a bad area.
A bit of perspective wouldnt do any harm... -

Albi, Midi-Pyrenees, FranceLocation conforme au descriptif... mais voisins bruyants
Left on 08/29/2012 for a stay in August 2012

San Francisco, CaliforniaA Great Find
Left on 06/27/2012 for a stay in June 2012
This flat turned out to be a great find for a quick trip to London on fairly short notice. Reuven and Johnny were friendly and helpful and made the whole process a breeze.
The flat is on a quiet, tree-lined street within easy walking distance of the underground station. It's in the NW2, so not exactly near any major tourist attractions, but that's a plus if you prefer to be somewhere quieter and little more sedate, rather than right in the thick of the busiest areas. And, of course, quick access to the underground makes the entire city easily reachable.
The flat itself was simple, but modern, clean, and well-maintained. I only had one issue while staying there (the cooker suddenly stopped working), but they took care of it right away. They even kept me stocked with more clean towels than I could have hoped for.
Overall, I had a great stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. -

Kihei, HIGreat place to stay outside the city center. Great restaurants
Left on 06/24/2012 for a stay in May 2012
This flat worked well for us and our 3 kids (8-13 yrs). The back yard is beautiful and pleasing to look at from the kitchen. Towels were changed often and everything is as described. There is a bus stop close to the flat that is free to use with your oyster card. Makes the trip to the tube station even faster. Grocery and restaurants all close. We enjoyed being a bit away from the center of town. We usually planned on about 30-45 minutes from our door to activities in town. It was always a pleasant trip on the tube! Thanks Reuven!

Flat 2 is very convenient and excellent!
I love the aC and Wifi!! It's easy check-in and check-out. The location is close to both bus and tube. And owner also change the towels every three days!
Ps: the house closer to Luton airport than Heathrow airport. -

Washington, DCMy wonderful stay at 17 Staverton Road, Willesden
Left on 06/05/2012 for a stay in May 2012
This was my first time renting a flat from an owner and was nervous about the process, because of the unscrupulous people out there doing no good, but from the first contact with Reuven, everything was great. Reuven was quick with responding to my emails. The process for the deposit and the check-in was with ease.
Because our visit was divided into two separate stays we had the pleasure of enjoying a flat and a separate cabin in the rear of the builiding. The flat and cabin was great, it was such a pleasure walking into a flat vs a hotel room (all the comforts of home). It was three women renting the flat and it was nice and roomy for the three of us and our luggage. The flat/cabin was nicely decorated, having use of a kitchen (with fully furnished kitchen items) washer/dryer, 2 televisions and even a small balcony/patio was perfect. The location was really good, on a quiet street, a bus line right on the street of the flat and a short walk to the tube station made getting into central London a breeze. Plenty of eating places, and a grocery store, which was very convenient.
Also, what was very helpful, was a listing of "how to's" and what was nearby.
I would recommend renting from Reuven B if you are visiting London and you want to stay away from the hustle and busting of central London. The entire experience was great.

Left on 05/31/2012 for a stay in May 2012
The flat had a very good location. It was quite close to the underground station and there were many shops in the area, including a large Sainsbury's supermarket.
The apartment looked quite good, it was spacious and generally clean. The kitchen offered all the necessary things (plates, glasses, cutlery, pans etc.)
Overall, it was a good value for the price paid. I would definitely recommend it. -

This flat was completely as expected and more. We had plenty of room and the beds were very comfortable. Check in and working with this renter were both very smooth. The only downside is that you are staying a little out of the center of town, but with the tube it doesn't take long to get anywhere, and we really enjoyed being in a quite community at night.

We found optimal in general, we will certainly recommend to our friends and one day we get back will be our first option. -

Hamburg, GermanyA great place to stay and an uncomplicated handling
Left on 05/09/2012 for a stay in April 2012
We have stayed in one of the apartments with 6 people in 2011 and came back in 2012 with 32 people, which meant that we booked the whole house for mostly four nights. All the apartments are bright and the interior is arranged and picked out nicely. Everything looks pretty, but still it is to be used, which means that you don´t feel terrified of sitting down on the couch because it is so delicate. It is a comfortable place, the beds are comfortable and each apartment can hold up to 6 people. There is mostly one bedroom with a double-bed and then a living room with two couches, which each sleep two people. Also those couches are comportable. There are flat-screen TVs in the living room and bedroom. We were there for a christian women´s conference, thus we were all girls. The kitchen holds mostly everything one needs.
The whole handling was done via e-mail with the owner Reuven Back. It was pretty uncomplicated and easy. We are very thankful for having found this great place to stay at and will come back in the following year.Response from Reuven B - 05/10/2012

Boulder, ColoradoNice place away from city center
Left on 08/14/2011 for a stay in May 2011
The apartment was very nice, and the three of us were very comfortable. It was roomy and everything worked as promised. Check in and payment were also handled very smoothly, and the owner was very responsive to my e-mails. There are lots of restaurants and grocery stores nearby.
The only reason I give this four instead of five stars is because it's a little off the beaten track. The description says it's only a 10 minute walk to the tube stop, but you would have to really run to make it in only 10 minutes. More like 20. And the tube stop is at the far edge of zone 2, so plan on 20+ minutes ride on the tube to get to the city center. If you don't mind using up an hour of your day commuting, then this place would be very good for you.Response from Reuven B - 08/30/2011
Owner
Thanks for the positive review, but I would just have to disagree on the amount of time it takes to get both to the Underground station, and also the time it takes to get to the centre of town. Having rented these flats for the last 10 years or so,the maximium time it should take to get the tube station is certainly no more than 10 minutes, possibly 11 or 12 if you are slightly older, but no more. As for 20 minutes to the centre of town,I would say that depends what you consider the centre, but as far as I am concerned, the centre is Baker Street/Oxford street, and that is a direct journey of no more than 10-12 minutes at worst.

Clean and comfortable accommodation in multi cultural area. Apartment we stayed in was at the back of the property, private and quiet. Well placed for easy access to sights. Bought daily underground ticket for zone 1 and 2, which allowed us to use the underground all day.
Supermarket close by. Stayed during winter offer, which allowed us to have a few days visiting London, seeing sights and going to a show at a very reasonable price. Only real criticism is the lack of cooking facilities, very few pots and pans, so could only provide convenience foods, not easy with food allergies in the party, which also makes it difficult to eat out, but, would stay again if on special offer and looking for low budget accommodation for a few days.

It is very easy to get into London by the subway or bus. My son and I would leave in the morning with a jacket and then as the day got warmer we just wore a t-shirt or such. We would also eat in the city, the restaurants are not very good in Wilisden. We were not missing a thing in the flat. Very comfortable, clean and quiet. The bed was very comfortable with lovely sheets and a duvet and very nice towels as good as a hotel! Our visit too London was terrific and it was nice to save some money by staying in this rental!

Wanted to stay in an apartment in London as I found it impossible to find a reasonable hotel that wasn't a dump! I happened upon this apartment on Tripadvisor and based on the reviews I decided to book it. We arrived to a lovely apartment that was spotlessly clean and warm. It had everything we needed; bath/shower, washing machine, microwave, oven. There was a only two of us but there was a double bed and two large sofa beds. There was also two tvs, one in the bedroom with a good selection of channels. It was less than a ten minute walk to the tube station and then it's only a few stops from the city centre. I would highly recommend this apartment.

We three persons stayed in the flat shown.... Was
most conveniently located, not in the heart of town
but on good tube and bus routes. Ours was on the
ground floor; maybe 1st floor a bit better in terms
of view etc
We were received in person and small issues were
efficiently sorted out. Linen and cleanliness were
excellent. Cable and wi-fi were a big boon.
XX Kitchen is really tiny but all mod cons
present.Could cook proper meals
XX Bedroom has no cooling/vent device other than
opening windows and that puts you in the path of
other apt occupants coming and going.
Overall very happy and would like to return -

We are a family of 6 who rented this flat on the reccomendation of friends who had already stayed there a few times.
We generally stay in hotels, but when you are going with all the kids, the prices we were quoted were crazy,so we decided to try a flat.
We must say, that we were a bit apprehensive,as we had never stayed in a holiday flat before, but we had a wonderful time, saved a lot of money, and still got conditions of a good 4 star hotel,so everybody was happy!
The flat is only around a 10 minute direct train journey from Oxford street,so it was very easy to get to the centre of town.
The flat itself was very comfortable, excellent beds, very well equipped kitchen, and there is a big Sainsburys supermarket about 5 minutes walk from the flat.
Would certainly stay there again.
Also, thanks to Reuven for the professional way the booking was handled and his patience in answering all our questions with a smile.

I did not stay in this particular flat, but in the same house. The flat I stayed in was even nicer than the one in the picture: it had a big bay window, where I could sit with a cup of tea after returning from a day in the big city, and watch the coming and going on the snowcovered street in a quiet typical London neighbourhood - beautiful! A red doubledecker bus passes regularly to complete the image.
The flat itself was cosy warm, spacious and very comfortable. It had a large flatscreen TV in the living/dining area and another flatscreen in the bedroom. The bedroom is located away from the road and therefore completely quiet.
There is a bus stop just around the corner, which takes a nice route into the city as far as Victoria station and the underground is about a ten minute walk away. I walked back (alone)to the apartment no later than 8.30 pm each (four) nights and found it to be perfectly safe, even though not very attractive.
I can highly recommend a stay in Reuven's flat! -
