      Greenwich Gem

Left on 05/02/2013 for a stay in March 2013

Right in the middle of the small bustling town of Greenwich lays a hidden gem. It has a private security gated entrance that is barely noticeable, located between a restaurant and store front shop on the main street. Across the street is the Greenwich Rail Station and down the street the Cutty Sark Museum and beautiful Greenwich Park. There's a Farmers Market and M&S; within a block that can supply you with all your needed foods and drinks. Restaurants and Pubs are all just a short walk away as well. Inside the apartment there's a keypad and monitor to let others in the gate, while you head down to open the door to the building. Once you enter through the key coded gate there is a very secure short walkway to the building. After entering the building there is a private elevator that takes you up and opens right into your nice, private, quite, and very comfortable little oasis. The apartment is surrounded by shops that buffer all the traffic noise in this very busy part of the town. It's very bright inside and has a beautiful view of a church tower that is lit at night and can be seen from all the windows. The full kitchen and living room have all the comforts of home. The two bedrooms have very comfortable beds and nice closets for clothing. There are also two full baths one with a shower and another with a shower/bath that is a nice place to soak after several hours walking the streets of London. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Wren House. It is the perfect retreat from all the hustle and bustle of travel and seeing the sights of London. It also helped keep our costs down. We will definitely stay again. It made our trip so much more enjoyable than staying in a hotel. We could cook, sit around the kitchen table and talk about our day, eat a home cooked meal and drink a nice bottle of wine or two. It's a very comfortable place where you feel right at home. Thank you Michel and Trevor we had a wonderful stay at your little gem of a place. See you soon.

Micheal was my angel after spending a week desperatly seeking a reasonable priced accomodation for my family of five I received his encoraging email. He not only privided an interesting quote but all the info I needed to well undestand where I was going to stay given I had three small children. The flat was very clean, fully equipped and welcoming and to find milk, coffey and water at our arrival was the first step towards feeling really at home in greenwich. The position excellent I just crossed the road and boarded the DLR to reach the center of london. The supermarket was just accross the road and the area is so welcoming and secure that I actually sent my eleven and ten year old children to buy the milk on there own so as to practice the language. The courtesy was all around especially the tourist info center next to the cutty sark ship. They helped not only with practical travelling and sightseeying advice but also booked the musical king lion in west end. Michel welcomed us on our arrival with his beaming smile and lovely french accent and was present during our whole stay popping in frequently to make sure everything was alright. All I can add to what I have already said is that I was really sorry to leave...thank you micheal you were wonderful

Hats off to Michel for being the best host ever. He contacted us at Heathrow when we arrived from australia and was there to meet us at Flat6 to show us around. We had a 3 week stay during the Olympics-we were there for equestrian events. Flat 6 was so close to Greenwich Park it was perfect. The flat comfortably accommodated our group of 4, and had all possible facilities imaginable. I simply cannot recommend Flat 6 highly enough. It was luxury having our own private elevator. We found the flat to be quiet and very secure and right in centre of Greenwich. Being opposite Cutty Sark station a bonus! If I ever get to London I'll be booking Flat 6 again.

      Fabulous location in Greenwich

Left on 07/02/2012 for a stay in June 2012

We really enjoyed our second stay in Greenwich. Trevor met us at the apartment and was very friendly and accommodating. The location is right in the center of Greenwich tucked behind some stores. Very nicely furnished with one double bed and one twin. The fourth bed is a sleeper sofa. Just steps to the Marks and Spencer Simply Food and an easy walk to some very nice restaurants (Cafe Rouge--chain but very good French food and wine), the Hill (Italian) and Helva (great Turkish food just around the corner). The DLR is just across the street and the Greenwich rail station is a few blocks away. The river taxi is very close. That said, it is a bit complicated to get to some of the main tourist sites in London--not terrible but plan on extra time. Greenwich itself is lovely and has some great tourist sites. Greenwich market is fun for teenagers. We enjoyed coming back to the weekday quiet in Greenwich after a busy day jostling with tour groups at the main tourist sites. The apartment has a lift.

Two spacious and comfortable apartments in a delightful part of

Left on 06/11/2012 for a stay in May 2012

If you’re clever enough to stay in Greenwich during your London vacation, then these apartments will make your stay both comfortable and affordable. We rented the pair; both are quite new, well furnished, and immaculately maintained. One even has its own private elevator. The location, for us, was ideal — a few steps from the Greenwich Market with its variety of offerings, with several pleasant and reasonably priced restaurants nearby. (The Moghul is highly recommended. Avoid the Mexican place on the streetcorner. Café Rouge has fine breakfasts.) The DLR has trains going to the City of London every few minutes. Up the hill is the Greenwich Observatory; the vast adjacent park, with its gorgeous vistas, is the site for the equestrian events of the Olympics. A short walk, past the Cutty Sark clipper, takes you to the pier where you can board a speedy public boat to sites in central London.

Michel and Trevor, the owners, were ever-helpful. We feel very fortunate to have found these apartments; the almost village-like atmosphere, combined with the beauty of the surroundings and the proximity to the city center, made this the perfect place to stay.

So much better than a hotel room

Left on 05/06/2012 for a stay in April 2012

This apartment is in an excellent location the DRL is just across the road with such easy access into the centre of London, yet it was incredibly quiet inside. The owners had thought of everything. The kitchen was so well equipped it would have been possible to cook a gourmet meal from scratch, but with M&S; food just around the corner we took the easy way out whenever we wanted a quiet night 'at home'
It was spotlessly clean (and I am very very fussy) The bed was comfortable, the linen good quality, in fact there really is nothing at all that we could fault. Would recommend without any hesitation. So once again a thank you to Michel and Trevor for such a pleasant stay.

This was the second time we have stayed in Wren House in Greenwich.
There is a gated entrance for security. The flat was spotless and ready for us when we arrived. We felt like we were at home.
The flat is located extremely close to many restaurants, shopping areas, pubs and most importantly right across the street from the entrance to the London DLR.
The reason I have stayed here twice now is the spaciousness of the flat and the easy access to public transportation.
I would absolutely stay here again.

This is the place to stay!

Left on 03/26/2012 for a stay in March 2012

Once again, the apartment was amazing! I stayed at this apartment in June 2011 and loved it so much, we rented it again (March 2012). The location was ideal, right across from the DLR with easy access to all the major Tube lines. Greenwich, itself, is a bustling hub of activity and a person can spend days just exploring this area.
The apartment has everything you need - comfy beds, warm showers, complete kitchen, washer and dryer (very handy - didn't have to pack as much), dishwasher, free Wi-Fi and TV (if you have time to watch!). The location of the apartment, wedged between buildings, gives you a sense of safety and security. Nothing beats the feeling of being special when you take the lift up to the apartment and it opens up to the hallway of the apartment.
This time, Trevor was our host and he was generous, knowledgeable and very helpful. One specific example: our plane was leaving early on a Friday morning so we needed to stay at a Heathrow airport hotel the night before. We had planned on leaving our luggage at a Left Luggage spot at one of the Tube stations, but Trevor graciously offered us to use the apartment to store our luggage until we were ready to depart for the Heathrow hotel. We were fortunate, he didn't have any guests checking in on the day we departed so he was able to offer us this "amenity", but it is an example of how accommodating Trevor and Michel are.
This is a great place to stay and you will not be disappointed.

The apartment is even better that the pics on the website.Could not fault the facilities at all and I am fussy about cleanliness and it was immaculate. Brilliant location in the heart of Greenwich (underground station just across the road), but so quiet once in the flat you would think you were in a rural spot. Michel and Trevor were very welcoming and very helpful. Absolutely heaps to do and that was just in Greenwich, not far from the boats for taking you up the Thames, great views on the way up to Tower Bridge (kids loved it). Locals very friendly. You will need to take the offered ride from the airport as it takes at least an hour to get there thru London traffic. Plus our driver didn't know where the place was and went to the wrong area. Make sure the driver know exactly where you are going. The apartment is awesome. Great location, great access, lovely and safe area.

We stayed for 2 weeks in January - Michel was great to deal with all the way through the process. Sometimes pictures of apartments can be deceiving but it was the opposite here - the apartment was even better in real life! It was warm, clean, well equipped, cosy and comfortable - it had everything we needed and more. It's really well situated right in the middle of Greenwich - Marks and Spencers is about a minute away! The DLR was fantastic but we used the Greenwich Railway station the most as it's less than 10 minutes to London Bridge. It was lovely to be close to Greenwich Park and the maritime museum too. I couldn't recommend it more. Thanks for a great stay! Sarah & family.

Left on 08/27/2011 for a stay in August 2011

Our holiday corresponded with the riots in London so it wasn't a very good start, but Trevor was great, meeting us outside and taking us to a local shop to stock up on food for the night. He had already supplied Milk, tea, coffee and sugar which was very generous.
The apartment is well back from the road, only entered via security doors and key pad entry so we knew we would be safe whatever happened.
Luckily all was quiet and the rest of our stay was wonderful.
The apartment is ideally situated - Just across the road is the Cutty Sark DLR a perfect way to get into the centre of London.
An even better way is to take the Thames River bus which is only 5 minutes walk away by the Greenwich naval college.
Greenwich market is just across the road with many antique and Craft stalls.
There is everything in the apartment that you would need and all the rooms are clean, bright and well equiped.
The beds were extremely comfortable and it was a great help having the extra sofa bed in the front room.
A tiny amount of remedial work is required in the ensuite bathroom but nothing that could possibly ruin our stay.

We would certainly recommend Trevor and Michel's apartment to anyone.

Great apartment in a great area!

Left on 08/12/2011 for a stay in June 2011

If you're looking for a modern apartment with a lot of room, this one is it! The apartment is just steps away from the Cutty Sark station on the DLR so it's very convenient to hop on the train and head into London. It's also close to the Thames River, so if you wanted to use a river transport to head into London, that's available, too. After a full day of sightseeing in London, just head back to the apartment and enjoy the many restaurants and quirky shops in the area. Greenwich is a fascinating area to explore - away from the hustle and bustle of London.
You enter the apartment by taking the elevator. When the doors open, there you are . . . in the apartment! Hang your coat up on the coat rack just inside and then venture to the living room to enjoy some British TV shows. If you brought groceries with you, the spacious kitchen with its full size refrigerator and stove let's you whip up a home-cooked meal with relative ease.
This apartment has two bedrooms - one with a queen bed with an attached bathroom and the other with a twin. Across the hall is the other full bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and once we figured out the hot water, the showers were great.
The only complaint I would have is that the elevator was having a little technical difficulty and was beeping throughout the first couple of days of our stay. During the day - that was fine since we were out sightseeing, but at night, it was annoying. Once contacted, the owners were very quick to call in a repair person to fix the elevator. We were slow at contacting them because we arrived on the weekend and in america, it's difficult, if not impossible to get a repair person in on the weekend and we could live with it for a couple of days.
Michel was a wonderful host and very helpful with advice. I would not hesitate to rent this apartment again when I'm back in London. When you compare all the space and amenities you get with this updated apartment to a hotel room, this, by far, is the way to go!

It was a little hard to find, our driver needed some help but we found it. The entrance to the small alley to the building is 1 door between 2 stores. Very secure building and love the lift that opens into the apartment - we never used the stairs or front door. We went to Paris right after for a week and the Greenwich place beat it hands down. Plus our 18 yr old daughter could walk around Greenwich by herself without any worries - our Paris neighborhood was not as safe and she never went out alone.
We would stay here anytime we go back to London - we know how to use the rail and underground stations and it was very easy from here to get to anywhere we wanted. The stores nearby - the market - had a great movie theater up the street - tapas restaurants everywhere - even had Turkish restaurant right around the corner with great food. Having 2 bathrooms for multiple travlers makes life so much nicer. We would never stay in a London hotel ever again. We would stay here first. Thanks to the guys for a great stay. Where can we buy one and rent out?

Excellente semaine . Appartement très bien situé, calme, agréable et super-équipé . Un peu excentré par rapport à Londres mais Greenwich vaut vraiment le détour , et la ville facilement accessible par bateau, train ou métro .

Michel and Trevor were very helpful and freindly. The apartment is very modern, clean and cosy. We felt really at home there. We also enjoyed Greenwich with all the sweet restaurants and markets. It is located very closly to the Themse River, where you can have a beautiful trip to the centre. We enjoyed our stay and liked the apartment, it is perfect to relax after breathing in the big city! Thank you!

This was a great location near a tube station, lots of shops, restaurants and bars and great for access to the O2 stadium and yet the apartment was peaceful, clean and comfortable. We where also very impressed when Michel met us at the door and provided us with goodies like freshly ground coffee

      Excellent Vacation

Left on 03/04/2011 for a stay in February 2011

We stayed here for a month. We have stayed at several hotels in London in the past...it would be hard to go back to a hotel; we are spoiled. We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment in Wren house. It looked even better in person than the pictures. It is warm, new, well decorated, spotlessly clean in a quiet location down a cobblestoned lane. In the morning, the sun, (if it was out) streamed in through the windows. All amenities described online were there and then some! The location in Greenwich could not be beat. The apartment is literally steps from the DLR train which connects to all the subway lines. The closest bus stop, which is also steps away, has bus #188 which will take you directly to Russell Square in center city London. Greenwich has great restaurants, excellent bakery, cheese shop, green grocer, meatmarket and Fish market. Also we were near to the "Greenwich market"which is open weekends. In short, this apartment provided us with the nidus to experience the vacation of a lifetime
In addition, the hosts Trevor and Michel could not have been more accomodating and friendly. We'll be back

We were met at the station by Michel and taken to the apartment. What more can we say other than it was perfect in all respects. Perfectly located in Greenwich right in the centre of the town but removed from the noise and bustle of the high street, the apartment was simply beautiful, everything anyone could ask for. we can very highly recommend.

An outstanding apartment in a great location

Left on 11/12/2010 for a stay in November 2010

I stayed here with my wife and our 15 month old son for 5 nights in November 2010. The booking process was easy and Michel contacted us personally (both by phone & email) to confirm our requirements. Michel also met us personally on arrival and had supplied essentials for our stay. He was extremely friendly and accommodating, and could not have made our stay any better. The flat is extremely well furnished, very comfortable, modern; it has sky tv, wifi, dvd player, 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms and a well equipped kitchen - you won't need to take anything (they even have a travel cot for babies/toddlers). The flat is only a 30 second walk to the DLR station and 5 minutes to the overland station, with Greenwich market just over the road - ideal location. Suffice to say, we had a fantastic stay and thought the location was ideal; when we got to London again we'll be contacting Michel to stay in one of his apartments. Highly recommended.

      Wonderful experience

Left on 10/19/2010 for a stay in October 2010

The purpose of our trip to London was to take my daughter and tour the city, something she has wanted to do for sometime. The location, quality and cost were of utmost importance. We could not have been more pleased with the apartment. It was very clean. Actually, it was perfect almost in every way. The location was terrific and we were able to tour London including a day trip to Stratford upon avon very easily. We used the subway and the Thames river boats to move about. We loved the Greenwhich area not only as a place to stay but to tour as well. Everything was very convenient and accessible, shops, groceries, food, etc. If I returned to London I would stay there again. Very safe, fun, plenty of room. Michel was available and helpful. Arranging a pick up and a drop off at Heathrow was very helpful and made the travel very easy. If you want a "rating" I would give the Wren house an "A". I would highly recommend this place to anyone especially families. Mark and annie Johansson Minneapolis MN.

Michel met us and had already stocked the fridge with essential items. The accommodation with beautifully decorated, well equipped and very clean. The three of us had plenty of space. A teenage boy can fill a room easily but we did not feel cramped or limited. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms clean and the kitchen well equipped. We loved the closeness to the train and local attractions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return some day.

Left on 06/21/2010 for a stay in June 2010

Wren House is in Greenwich, just a couple of hundred metres from the Cutty Sark DLR station. The apartment is a great place to base yourself for a stay of a couple of days to a couple of weeks. The apartment is very quiet and beautifully appointed. You can not hear any noise at night and it is very secure. Everything you need is provided, Wi-fi, cable TV, DVD, CD, dishwasher, washing machine etc.
If there on a Saturday night be sure to visit Peter De Witt's Cafe just around the corner. Live Jazz and a great atmosphere. Trevor & Michel are perfect hosts.
