TorontoComfortable modern flat in excellent downtown location
Left on 04/18/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Hi, we had a great stay in Carlos's flat. It was straightforward and easy to check-in on the first night - Carlos is a friendly host and gave a useful and thorough explanation of all the flat's details and features. The flat itself is clean, comfortable and nicely furnished - big leather couch, good bed, large flatscreen TV and all the kitchen mod cons you'd expect in a good flat rental. The bathroom even has underfloor heating.. classy.
The location is incredible, it's on the third floor (there's a lift) in a secure courtyard in-between Whitechapel Rd and Brick Lane.. very lively area, you're perfectly placed right in the heart of buzzing East London nightlife and close to some top restaurants (Tayyabs, Lahore Tikka House etc) with easy access to the rest of the city via aldgate East tube stop (Zone 1) literally a minute's walk away.
Carlos is very good on the communication front if your have any questions, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this flat to people looking to live in the heart of the city and experience real london life as opposed to staying in some boring, soulless and overpriced hotel. Oh yeah and the cost is a bargain - way cheaper than even a low grade hotel would be, and a far more authentic experience. Have fun.. -

Lovely flat with all the great amenities nearby in the active Brick Lane zone. Weekend market days are spectacular fun and for clubbing and dining - the East End is fantastic.
Plus, with aldgate East station not even a block away it is ridiculously easy to get around London.
Great price - great place. -

Just wanted to say a very big thanks to Carlos for our wonderful stay at his Unit at 5 Green Dragon Yard.
We appreciated your wonderful directions from the metro to find you and also you being here to greet us and give us some local tips.
Everything went really well. It was a great area. We had fun visiting the Brick Lane markets and the many fabulous local eateries in the area .
Everything in the unit was great, a little home away from home. Little things like the washing powder being provided, nice wine glasses , bath soap were all such appreciated touches.
The location was great, Bus Stops at the Door, Trains/Metro just a short walk (within 2 minutes) and just a 4 minute stroll down to Tower Bridge
Thanks again Carlos. If we ever return to England we will be sure to email you for our accommodation and recommend you to our friends

This place is great. We were in London for business and were looking for a central located flat where we could still feel like we were at home - Carlos's place did that. The flat is nice in the pictures, but much nicer in person. It comes with everything you need to cook, enjoy entertainment, and live day to day. The shower is nice as well, with a big bath tub that was enjoyed multiple times. The building is safe, the location is great, overall I would recommend and stay here again. Carlos was a great host, thanks again!
Bonus points: there is a painting of a dog in the bathroom. Come on, that's amazing.
Bonus, Bonus points: Carlos had milk for us when we arrived, because you know I needed my tea immediately.
Bonus, Bonus, Bonus points: Other people in the building are nice.
More points: Close to Brick Lane Road for markets, food. Also many groceries, Tescos nearby.
And more: It's like 2 blocks away from the nearest tube stop. Save money, ride the tube from the airport, it's a easy ride.
Just stay here, take my word for it.

My partner and I stayed in Carlos's great little flat for 9 days from September 2nd then again for another 6 days from October the first. The flat is in a great location to experience London at a great price. Carlos was the perfect host ! meeting us to show us the 'ins & outs' of the flat then kept in touch via TXT to ensure our stay was free of problems. The flat was clean and well prepared with everything you could possibly need for your stay. Thankyou Carlos for being such a great host. We will definately be back and have already told many of our friends about your great flat. many thanks Raf & Ulli

I stayed in Carlos's apartment when I was travelling on my own through the UK. I loved the location and always felt perfectly secure. The apartment is compact but perfect for one or two people. It was equipped with everything a traveller needs but the best thing of all is the way Carlos personally makes sure you are settled. I was impressed that he'd got coffee and milk in for me plus there was laundry liquid for the washing machine and those extra bits and pieces.I'l be recommending Brick Lane to all my family and friends.

We stayed here for 9 days/8 nights in June 2012. My sister who resides in London took us to the flat, and we met Carlos there. Carlos was friendly and gave us a great tour of the flat. I was most excited about the bathtub which I had been missing throughout our time in Europe. It was wonderful! Other amenities included with the booking price were a full kitchen, washer & dryer, a huge flat-screen TV with lots of channels and high-speed wi-fi. We loved being able to cook many meals of our own; there are several supermarkets just a few blocks away in any direction. Most of all, the location was perfect for us as it was close to my sister's, Brick Lane, and the Underground. Thank you again, Carlos, for letting us rent such an awesome flat!!!

I recently visited London with my 16 yr old daughter June 23 - July 2, 2012. Carlos was great right from the time of booking till the day we left. The location was perfect! Close to the underground, buses, markets and grocery store. And if you're up to walking, it's not too far from St. Paul's or Rover Thames.
The apartment was small but perfect for the 2 of us. Carlos was also very quick to respond when and if we needed his assistance. He accomodated us even with our 18 hr flight delay into London. He was waiting for us in the wee hours when we finally arrived the apartment.
I would highly recommend staying here!
Thanks Carlos! -

We just returned home from our European vacation. The flat we rented in London worked out great! It was spotless and had everything necessary to make it feel like home(from paper towels to internet access). The subway was close (although it was closed a couple of nights we stayed out late) and everything we wanted to see was accessible from the subway without much hassle. Carlos was wonderful! Our flight was delayed and we ended up being an hour late, but he was still waiting for us and one of the nicest people we met in London. I took off one star for the location outside the apartment (we had a shady person approach us one night), but once inside the gated complex there were no worries. I would stay here again! Thank you Carlos :-)

Carlos was a delightful host and the flat was just as described - no surprises. He met us at the tube station and even pre-stocked the fridge with beverages. It was spotless and well maintained, an excellent home away from home. The location is not in the fanciest part of town, but was nonetheless very interesting and entertaining, with superb transit links to everywhere. A small supermarket was just outside the courtyard, and superb restaurants were just meters away on Brick Lane. Would definitely stay here again! Thanks Carlos!

I will endeavour to not be too gushy, and rave-on about the whole experience, but keep it succinct and to the point.
From the start Carlos was on point. Communication was prompt, and consistant. What a lovely human- being!
The flat was perfect for us. It truly felt like home. After a long day out, coming home and flinging ourselves on the leather couch was heaven. The only thing I noticed that was missing were a set of tongs in the kitchen. That is it!
We arrived to a warm welcome, help with our luggage, and a large supply of ground plunger coffee, milk and sugar. For any first timers to London, the apartment coffee table is chockers full of maps, books, and any other reading material you may need to get your bearings and decide on the following days adventure.
The location has now become our favourite part of the whole city! We had never traverssed the length and breathe of the east end before, and no matter what time of day or night we were out, I felt extremely safe. The whole complex is gated and secure, surrounding a lovely courtyard.
Lastly, the photos on the website really don't give the apartment justice. It is roomier than it looks, smells like flowers, is spotlessly clean, the bed is dreamy, and the bath deep :) I could ramble for days, but i think by now you get the idea.
This is our forever home-away-from-home, and can't wait to be there again sometime very soon. Thank you Carlos! Much love!Response from C H Cardona Velez - 11/08/2011

Left on 10/03/2011 for a stay in September 2011
First, the apartment looks great, the pictures don't lie. It is not huge (like any other london apparent) but it is for sure much much bigger then any hotel room. It felt like someone just moved out of the apartment a few days ago and left it as is, meaning it was completely utilized and perfectly maintained.
Carlos was great he waited for us (even though we got there a bit late). Through out our stay in the apartment we didn't really need his help since there were no problem. We even had milk in the refrigerator waiting for us.
Regarding the neighborhood, we didn't see any drug dealers or hookers like i read in some reviews of hotels in the area.
There are two entrances to the building one from a very quite street and one from the main road (Whitechapel high st.)
There are a lot of bars and clubs in the area so expect young people walking around some a bit drunk. But that whats great about east london. It is never boring. There are also lots of restaurants on Brick Lane and commercial st.
Bottom line, we were extremely happy we got the apartment, it was great value for our money.
Around:
do not miss the St John restaurant in commercial st. for amazing trendy traditional english food.
You should also try the "Biegel Bake" on 159 Brick Lane for some great fast food jewish beigels!

The owner, Carlos is very easy to deal with . Very trusting, helpful and generous. The apartment is clean and comfortable. The area may not be the nicest, but it is safe, very convenient to all transport and with a supermarket close by.
Carlos has done a great job in pricing the accomodation relevant to the area it is located. So, if you set your expectation right, you'll be very pleased with the accomodation. -

Left on 07/15/2011 for a stay in June 2011
Carlos was waiting on us at the tube station and we were over 30 minutes late. He walked us to the apartment and explained everything. The area is not the nicest in London but it is literally only 2 minutes from the tube station and 1 stop from tower hill! The flat was extremely clean, not the newest but everything worked! As tourists we did not spend much time there except to sleep. It did get a little loud outside sometimes. The hallways to the flat have no ventilation so they had an undesirable odor, but once inside the flat all was okay. If I had the opportunity, I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Stores, pubs, restaurants are all available in the immediate area and they are nice. If you want value for the small amount Carlos asks...This is the place. It was the best vacation ever! Thank you Carlos. Your hospitality can't be matched. Charles & Jutta.

I stayed here on my own in July for a week as I had a course and exams in london .. I stayed alone (single female). On arrival Carlos was very welcoming and helpful - everything needed was provided from towels, shower products to tin can openers.
I was pleased to see that there were numerous door bolts from the inside which, as a single female, make me feel safe.
The flat is perfect, comfy bed, free view tv (large flat screen) dvd player, computer and internet access.
The location is fantastic - it is about 2 mins walk to aldgate East and 2 mins to buses going to Oxford circus,Holborn etc.
I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone and will one hundred percent me coming back here if i ever need to stay in London... First class rental!! -

My boyfriend and I spent a week in this cosy, comfortable, well equipped flat just off Brick Lane over Christmas - it was especially good since the terrible and freezing weather made us spend more time at home than we wanted...
Just a shot off aldgate East tube station, well connected by bus as well, the apartment was clean and well kept and we had all we needed, including internet, we would suggest it with no exitation! Thanks Carlos! -

Left on 11/24/2010 for a stay in November 2010
We stayed for 8 days in this pleasent apartment, firstly it is very cheap when considered to the other flats or hotel rooms. Also the place of the flat is perfect, the tube station is only a few buildings away, and there are night buses from central locations if you try to come home after midnight. I would like to add that the flat is in much better condition than it seemed on the photos. Additionally the owner is very kind, and trustable. I absolutely suggest you to stay in this flat.
