      Very nice

Left on 12/06/2011 for a stay in November 2011

This is a nicely located apartment, with everything you need. It has two bedrooms one facing a little noisy street no deal breaker though, while the other one faces a much quieter street. The shower is like some people have mentioned is not for everybody but most though. Internet access, TV, kitchen with everything so nothing really to complain about. Will recommend it any day.

      Recent stay

Left on 05/03/2011 for a stay in April 2011

We stayed here in april. The location was great and I would wholeheartedly agree with the previous review. It's a 5 minute walk from Goodge St Station and behind trendy Charlotte St. We were met by a helpful young man, bang on time who showed us around. The apartment was neat and tidy but the couch pictured in the advert definately needs updating - it was saggy and uncomforatble. The two bedrooms were fine - although with child size cupboards so clothes could not be hung easily. The bathroom was adequate although the shower was quite tricky to get in to so may not suit elderly people. Regarding the bedrooms - the one at the back facing on to the inside of the building was quiet. However the bedroom facing on to Rathbone St was unfortunatley noisy most nights due to the emptying of bottles and garbage trucks at 3am and 5am.It may not suit young kids who wake easily (or adults who just want to sleep)... The constant dripping tap in the kitchen was not a problem, just a waste of water...other than all of that, a great location and nice space to come home to.

      Perfect location

Left on 01/04/2011 for a stay in December 2010

We stayed with 4 adults in this apartment over new year. The location is hard to beat; a quiet street but close to numerous restaurants and pubs (the closest of which is just 20 steps from the back door), close to the Goodge Street Underground station and buses. There are also three supermarkets (Tesco, Sainsbury and M+S) within a few minutes. Oxford Street is only 1 tube stop or about 10 minutes walking away. If you want to be close to but not right in the middle of all the action, then this is your spot.

The apartment itself is light (lots of windows) and large enough for four persons but with more it will get very cramped. There is one very small and one slightly larger bedroom. This last room overlooks the street which has almost no traffic, but on our stay there was some disturbance by the dumping of glass from the Charlotte Street-restaurants late in the evening (~11 pm) and early morning (before 7 pm)

The bathroom has a good shower and the kitchen is well equipped (allthough there is no dishwasher) and has a nice bar for breakfast etc. There is also a large TV in the sitting area including a dvd-player and a selection of some family-friendly dvd's. There is supposed to be Internet but this can only be used with the provided Usb-stick.
This means you will have to bring a laptop and can't access the Internet with your phone or iPad. The furniture looks a bit worn out, the beds felt wobbly and also the couches were not very comfortable. There were several other minor signs of insufficient maintenance that should be adressed.

Contact with the owner was always quick and friendly and there was a member of the staff present at the appropiate times. Considering that this apartment costs about half of what a reasonable hotel with similar location would cost for a week with four adults it is a bargain, but it needs some new furniture and a bit of love.

Response from London Life Apartments - 01/05/2011

      London Life Apartments

      Owner

We are sorry to learn Mr Kegel felt that there were minor signs of insufficient maintenance in this apartment, especially as we try wherever possible to sort out maintenance issues quickly, and if we had heard about them during his stay we would have endeavoured to rectify them.

This is the first time that a guest has mentioned the need for new furniture in the apartment, as much of it is less than three years old. We have had an issue previously with bed slates as a result of a guest moving the beds around. As a result we went through some expense to repair the slates.

For the benefit of readers please be advised of some of the reviewer’s inaccuracies:

      - Oxford Street is a 3 minute walk from the station.
      - The is no tube stop between the apartment and Oxford Street (you can walk there directly)
      - Both bedrooms hold double beds and the apartment regularly holds six guests comfortably.
      - The street is very quiet, with little traffic or noise given its central location.

Finally, this is the first disappointing review we have had on this apartment, and we have had many very happy and satisfied guests, who would be happy to provide a more objective review directly, should any potential guests require.
