West London’s Notting Hill has a personality as confused as the wares on display at its Portobello Market. On the one hand, the area once famed for its genteel sensibility, as the rows of Georgian townhouses and fashionable Westbourne Grove attest. On the other hand, it plays host to an enticing alternative culture, as well as a lively Caribbean diaspora, whose annual Carnival throngs with upwards of a million Londoners, all seeking the festival’s colourful floats and flavours. The event demonstrates that Notting Hill commands a rich variety beyond its portrayal in the 1999 Grant/Roberts picture. Holland Park is itself an enormous (54-acre) wooded wildlife park built around the ruins of Holland House. The House was bombed in 1940 during the Blitz, but today hosts the summertime opera outfit, Opera Holland Park. The park itself is edged by some of the finest real estate in London.

We spent 8 nights in this apartment and enjoyed it very much. It was very conveniently located, about halfway between Kensington High Street and Bayswater Road with public transportation on both. There were many attractions within walking distance. The apartment was very clean and well furnished and was much larger than I had expected. We did no cooking but everything was there if needed. A young man from Ivy Lettings met us and told us everything we needed to know about appliances, etc. and the porter of the building was extremely friendly and nice. Both the location and the apartment are great.

The apartment at 17 airlie Gardens is cozy, quiet and comfortable.
We were two adults and two kids and loved the perfect central neighborhood.
The flat is w/in walking distance of Holland Park Road, Portabello Road and Kensington High Street. There are tons of great restaurants, pubs and shopping nearby and its a few minutes walk to the Notting Hill Gate tube station. The folks at Ivy Lettings were extremely accommodating and helpful. -

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in London and staying at this property. The location was great, a short walk to Bayswater Road and Notting Hill and in the other direction, to Kensington High Street.
The surrounding areas were lovely and felt very safe.
The property was ideal. We purchased meals from the nearby supermarkets and heat them in the kitchen - cheap, quick and easy, leaving plenty of time for sightseeing.
There were three people staying. The third person slept on the lounge seating. I think if you made the lounge into a bed ie pulled it out into a sofa bed, it would be very crowded, especially for access from the bedroom to the bathroom during the night.
The bathroom is looking a little tired and could do with a bit of TLC but still very usable.

The location and layout of the accommodation more than suited our needs. The accommodation was clean and provided an ideal setting for our needs. What we liked best was the location of the accommodation and the service provided by your organisation, especially from Madeleine.

This is now number one on our list of places to stay in London. Great location, bright and comfortable with good ventilation. Everything is furnished and works. We liked the check in with someone greeting us at the door, especially in the rain, and showing us around the apartment. The Windsor Castle Pub is just around the corner and the Churchill arms is nearby as are other pubs hidden in the side streets.
