ItalyLovely flat in West London, Highly Recommended!
Left on 01/24/2013 for a stay in December 2012
We stayed at this beautiful Lancaster Gate flat over the Christmas holidays, and we had a wonderful time there. The flat is cozy and we enjoyed the experience of living in a typical English home! The location is ideal - just a few minutes walking distance from the gorgeous Hyde Park and with plenty of cafes and shops all close by. It was a great experience . The flat is impeccably decorated and really had everything we needed , there was nothing missing. I would definitely stay there again.

We had the perfect place to stay! The apartment was fantastic. The beds were better than our own at home. The living room was great with even a working gas fireplace. The location is close to everything - cabs, buses, subway and Paddington Station. The bus and cabs are 1 block away and the subway is only a couple of blocks. Hyde Park is beautiful! Mitre Pub is closer than the subway and the place we ended almost everyday. We had a wonderful time and this apartment could not have been better. Thank you Sue for sharing your apartment! We would love to come again.

Thank you so much Sue for a wonderful time in your home. The beds & linens were amazing, just what you need after long days taking in the city. We had 3 adults, 1 teenager & 1 child. Everything was just as they described and more. Thank you to both..Sue & Emily were wonderful to work with, very helpful & we really appreciate all of the communication. Location was great, easy access to walk, easy access to the tube & bus as well. Enjoyed local stores & restaurants, amenities were great, loved the decor & was perfect for us. The Porter was very friendly & I quite enjoyed talking with him. The only problem we had is that our stay was not nearly long enough. We would definitely want to stay here the next time we are in London. Cheers!

I stayed in this apartment for 4days and it was absolutely wonderful, cosy, warm and surrounded by luxury. The owner could not do enough for us and nothing was too much trouble. I could live there on a permanent basis, I would recommend this apartment to absolutely anybody. You are very close to all amentities, yet very peaceful, you do not know you are in the middle of London. A short walk will take you into Hyde park which is beautiful. Highly recommended.

My wife, three kids (teens) and I stayed for a week and found the flat a wonderful, quiet place to wake up in and come back to after a day around town. Small, but very comfortable, and the furnishings, beds, linens were highest quality. Bathrooms clean, well finished, and the towels and robes (!) positively luxurious. Location near Hyde Park/ Kensington Gardens was ideal for an early morning or late evening walk in the park--Kensington Palace is an easy 10 minute walk, the South Kensington museums 20 minutes, Queensway restaurants/ Whitely's mall 15-20 minutes--and right off Bayswater Road, serviced by several 24-hr bus lines, and about 10 minutes to Lancaster Gate tube (which is however a small station crowded with tourists from the many neighboring hotels). There's a little Waitrose market in a petrol station three blocks away that has most of the necessaries -- for a real supermarket you'd need to take a bus. Sue and Emily were very responsive to all our pre-travel questions, and though we never got to meet Emily, she was solicitous and helpful while we were there (had some trouble with the cable and the internet). Kitchen was well equipped. Just a few caveats: it's on the third (i.e. fourth) floor, and the elevator's small, so you may find yourself making multiple trips with bags and people (or getting a little healthy exercise). This also means it can get warm and a little stuffy in hot weather, but Sue has provided plenty of fans. Finally, the dining table photo might suggest there's more room for dining than there really is -- the small table is against one wall of the living room. But these are quibbles. 34 Lancaster Gate #19 was a great place to stay in a great location, beat hotels by a mile, and we will remember it fondly and hopefully return. I would recommend it in a heartbeat.

Just finished six days in Sue's flat and can't say enough about her hospitality and assistance. The flat was exactly as described - very comfortable and convenient. The weather was wonderful while we were there - quite warm and pleasant. Since the flat is on the third floor, we were able to catch a wonderful cross ventilating breeze with the windows open, and everyone was comfortable day and night. It was very clean and well maintained - all kitchen appliances were clean and functional. This was a very pleasant stay in every respect.

This apartment was completely wonderful. Everything was perfect, close to all the London sites, wonderful linens, well equipped kitchen, gas fireplace to warm up after a day of touring. There's nothing that could have made it better! The owners were very very helpful in making arrangements and getting us settled in when we arrived.

I stayed here at the end of last year whilst on a trip to London. I've never stayed in a home before as I wasn't sure what to expect, always choosing hotels, but after taking the plunge, I'll definitely be doing this more often.
The flat is really welcoming with a well equipped kitchen, comfy couches and lovely comfortable beds. Although just around the corner from Hyde Park and handy for Harrods and other attractions, the location, in a quiet square makes this a relaxing choice even in the heart of the city.
Handy for the Tube, with the quintessential British pub (The Mitre) just around the corner as well as local restaurants, cafes and shops, this is a perfect place to base yourself on your trip to the city. -

apartment was fantastic beautifly decorated and a well stocked kitchen, it was clean, well maintained and accomodated us a family of 5 perfectly. It was centrally located a short stroll to Hyde Park, we could even walk to Buckingham Palace. The owner was very helpful and provided the apartment with an information booklet of her recommendations which was great. Everything advertised about the apartment was correct. The owner was very lovely and after being out of the apartment touring the English country side and returning 4 days later to our surprise a dinner of cottage pie was ready and waiting in the fridge for us that evening, which was very much appreciated. We couldn't have asked for better accomodation. It was excellent. I would recomend this apartment to all who read this review

Our family of four spent a week-long holiday in this lovely flat, and would highly recommend it. The owner and her daughter were great to work with, as they made the process clear and easy, and the communication was very good. The location is convenient and quiet, literally 1 block across from Hyde Park. There are even bicycles for rent at the corner! The porter was on the premises daily, if we had questions or needed assistance. We had the most wonderful time! We felt like this was indeed a home-away-from-home. The owners have clearly put a lot of thought into decorating and making the flat feel happy and warm. Everything from the fluffy duvets to the huge towels was a treat. The sun came in one end of the flat in the morning, and set on the opposite side, always making it feel bright and sunny when we awoke and when we came home from a busy day (and we had nearly a week of sunny weather.) There is a small grocery store nearby, which made it easy to keep a few things on hand. Things couldn't have been better. Thank you!

Four of us had a fabulous stay at this charming apartment rental. We were there in November so the fireplace made our evenings even better. The linens were superb quality and the apartment offered everything we could want. The location is great, especially with the local pub just up the street. The hostess was welcoming and addressed all of our needs immediately .

This apartment is a real taste of luxurious London life - in the heart of the action and yet still set back enough from Bayswater Road to be peaceful and relaxing. A beautiful place, all chintz and big sofas, everything is set up to make you feel like you are in your own home during your stay. There are big towels - a simple touch and yet so often overlooked - there's lovely bed linen and a well equipped kitchen. We had a brief but extremely comfortable stay and would happily return

This apartment was everything and more than advertised. The owner greeted us upon arrival, showed us how things worked etc. and left us to get settled in. The decor is so charming and you know you are staying in a real home not just a rental place. I had a few questions and Sue was always available to answer them. Mike the porter greeted us each day and checked on our how our day went. I cooked every day in the wonderfully stocked kitchen and we read and relaxed in the beautiful and comfortable sitting room. The beds were heavenly and the linens were the finest quality. The building is very quiet as is the neighborhood. We loved being 2 minutes from Hyde Park. It was nice to have a local pub around the corner as well as many different restaurants and grocery shops within a few blocks. In past trips we've stayed near Covent Garden to be near the theaters but endured the crowds and the noise. Never again. This restful lovely flat is the only place I want to stay at on my next visit. Many thanks to Sue for all her help in making this one of the best vacations ever.

Left on 07/19/2012 for a stay in June 2012
The three of us recently stayed at this charming London flat (two adults, one 14 year old). We found the flat to be exactly as pictured on the website and as described by other reviewers - charming! The location is quite convenient to both the tube (Lancaster Gate station) and to Paddington Station, which was important to us as we were also traveling outside of London. We also really enjoyed the proximity to Kensington Gardens; it was lovely to be able to start our days with a walk in the park!
Sue and her daughter Emily were both very helpful and quick to respond. Mike (the building Porter) was also very kind and happy to provide advice and suggestions when needed.
We would definitely rent this flat again on return trips to London! -

Left on 07/19/2012 for a stay in November 2011
This apartment is surely one of the best in the city, especially for families traveling with children. My husband had to be in London for work, so myself and our two children tagged along. The master bedroom bed is sumptuous and comfortable and there was enough room for our travel cot for our infant. The second bedroom was perfect for our young son. The kitchen is well-appointed and we enjoyed many nice family meals, which helps you save money when traveling on a budget. The location could not be better for a family. While my husband was at work, my children and I took a five minute walk over to Kensington Gardens and my daughter rode peacefully in her pram while my son enjoyed meeting all the local dogs and playing at the Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Playground (which surely must be one of the most fabulous playgrounds I've ever seen)! And for all of the other fabulous sites of the city, you're a quick walk away from either Lancaster Gate or Queensway tube stations! The landlady and her daughter were both wonderful to work with and quick to respond to all communications. They made sure we were met at check-in and given a walk through and shown how the appliances, heat, etc. worked. Mike, the building's porter, is a wonderful and very kind man who gave us directions to stores nearby to collect groceries. And the Mitre pub was a great place to get a warm bite to eat and a pint when we first arrived - plus, being off the tourist track, we felt like we got a better experience of the local culture! I highly recommend this apartment for your London stay. You will not regret the choice.

Our family ( 2 adults/2 kids) loved our stay! The location is beautiful, safe and perfect to enjoy all London has to offer. The underground and busses are just around the corner. Lovely local eateries within walking distance. The residence is very clean and spacious with all amenities you need. The comfortable beds and linens are a sweet retreat after a long day. Wifi and a fully equipped kitchen were so helpful with children. The owners were wonderful to work with, informative and quick responses. We can't wait to return and will definitely stay again.

After spending long hours touring London - this flat was very welcoming. It felt like going home. Location is excellent. We had 4 people in our group and the space was perfect. Underground and bus stops are very short walking distance. We love to eat in and the kitchen had all the basic needs. Sue - thank you for over communicating. It made the transaction part very easy. If you are comparing - stop - this is a great comfortable apartment.

Left on 07/19/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Many thanks to Sue for allowing my family to stay at her wonderful London flat. My children are 7, 13 and 16 year old and the flat layout was perfect for the wide ranges of ages, especially given the huge difficulty of booking a hotel for five. The flat was well situated near the Lancaster Gate Tube stop and we heavily relied on the tube for all of our touring. When we visit London in the future we will book this flat again. Also dealing with Sue is a pleasure.
