Additional Location Information
Esencia sits directly on the beach in Long Bay. Long Bay is a 3 mile pure white sand beach. It is generally undeveloped with long stretches of ocean fronting the wild vegetation. There are occasional large estates with a few "island style" older homes nestled between. Its a very quite area with low population density. Yet, it's only 5 minutes away by car from Grace Bay, with its shops, condo's and restaurants.

Steamboat SpringsPerfect kiteboarding vacation rental and secluded getaway
Left on 05/27/2013 for a stay in May 2013
My wife and I just returned from staying at Villa Esencia for a week where we went to learn to kiteboard. Located on pristine Long Bay on Provenenciales, Turks and Caicos, I can't imagine a better experience. Villa Esencia only has 6 total units and it is run and managed by a wonderful married couple, Ritama and Kabir and you couldn't ask for better hosts. They are friendly, accommodating and great kiters as well. We stayed in Wyakha 3 Garden View which is the lower, one bedroom/one bath unit in the four unit building. It was clean and bright and had everything we needed included air conditioning. The beach and water in Long Bay is the best in the World for kite boarding or for just a quiet, private getaway. As far as kiting, the property is set up ideally for rigging your kites with a compressor on the beach to make it easy and a perfect, shallow launch. Long Bay has miles of waist deep water and consistent trade winds to make learning to kite there ideal, but experienced and expert kiters can have a great time too. Not too crowded and amazingly beautiful everywhere you look. There are other bigger units available at Villa Esencia and upper units with beautiful views although our lower unit was great. There's also a great private pool and a hot tub which we made good use of after long days of learning to kiteboard. We plan to go back to Villa Esencia many times to visit Ritama and Kabir and God Willing enjoy many more great experiences there.

Amazing water, color, sun, and accomodations

Loved Villa Esencia on Long Bay Beach. Our teens used the villa's paddle boards and kayaks which are on the property for our use. Beautiful cabana on the beach w/a sectional for naps and reading with a view. We never ate inside and slept with doors and windows open for that amazing breeze. Doesn't get any better than waking up and having coffee on the beach with that view. Also, the villa comes with a jeep. Just 8 minutes to Grace Bay with the shops and grocery store. Ritama is a wonderful host and Villa Esencia is a hidden gem.

From the welcome, to the majestic tour from our suite to the beach through a mangrove forest, to perfect kiting for all abilities, to comfortable sleeping quarters, to complete kitchen setup, to clean your sandy feet wash stations, to paddleboards for non windy days, to shaded huts with sweet views of the turquoise water, to an amazing assortment of boards for use on light windy days, to gracious hosts who asked about how they could be helpful but were never imposing.

We stayed in two one-bedroom condos which were connected by a staircase. The condos...bathrooms, kitchen, furnishings, washer, dryer, decks...were excellent. When we arrived Ritama helped make the arrangements for all of us perfect. We used the upstairs condo for our dinners so Ritama made sure we had a table with six chairs out on the deck. We had plenty of room for six adults...three couples. The beach is stunning and just down a beautiful path. I watched the sunrise every morning from a chair on the deck. We went to the IGa and the Gourmet IGa and usually ate two meals at the condo every day and one out. Our favorites include the Mango Reef, Magnolias, Hemmingways, Somewhere on The Beach and the Shark Bite.
A big thank you to the best hosts ever and rest assured we will be back! -

My husband and I rented upstairs unit w/ sumptuous views--foreground of gardens, turquoise water beyond. We felt immediately at home w/ lovely accommodations and nice breezes. Small details were charming surprises, even the wonderfully fragrant aravatik soap. The compound grounds are so peaceful and charming, w/ buddhas next to the salt water pool, a short walk on a path through the jungle to the beach (where we windsurfed/kited, recovering on the sugary, white sand). Ritama thought of everything both outside and inside. During our stay we rented the downstairs, connecting unit for our adult daughter and her boyfriend. This was the way to go. They enjoyed privacy and the garden apt, as well as together time upstairs watching sunrises and sunsets. The staff were helpful in just the right way, leaving us to ourselves, but if we needed their input, they were there for us. Long Beach Bay--it is a miraculous place, not only to engage in water sports, but also to just veg out. The 3 mi. stretch has very few houses, and so few people--we only saw about 15 kiteboarders, a few horseback riders, and the occasional couple stroll by. No place like it---I should know, I've traveled the world widely...Long Beach Bay is special and Wayaka was just a perfect way to experience it. Definitely go there soon before it gets spoiled. It is a rare opportunity!

Ritama did a great job in building the villas , you got privacy, space, shade, next to the pool and ocean.
It is a very user friendly place for kite boarding, shelfs for equipment , quiet compressor on the beach to inflate your kites.
And it is only 5 km away from really good restaurants. Long Bay offers amazing kite boarding with nooo traffic. The most I've seen on the water on the 5km beach was 15 kiters. Usually it is less than 10 including the group taking lessons at the Provo kite boarding school and there location is walking distance on the beach from Esencia. This place is great. -

My husband and I spent a week at Essencia during Thanksgiving with my parents. It was absolutely wonderful. Can't say enough about how much we loved Long Bay Beach. Just gorgeous and secluded unlike Grace Bay Beach. In our opinion much better than the other beaches we visited. The water was shallow and calm with beautiful soft white sand but gotta watch out for buried conch shells in the sand which I read that you are allowed take two back home if you wish. The conch shells are huge and simply beautiful. Another great thing about Long Beach Bay is that it didn’t have any of the seaweed that we saw in other beaches. We also loved the convenience of having a jeep that allowed us to explore the island. The 2 bedrooms and two bathrooms Essencia Villa was very clean and had everything we needed. Ritama and Kabir were super helpful and made us feel very welcomed. We also enjoyed getting to know their two dogs and the cat. All in all it was a great vacation. However, please note the water is still a bit cool in late November and don’t forget to bring the insect repellent.

We stayed in Villa Wyakha last year just before Christmas and loved the place! The booking was easy and we contacted Ritama before our arrival and she organized the transportation from the airport to the villa for us, very nice and easy after a long flight.
The first days we could use the car of the owners' for shopping, but then we decided to rent our own for the remaining time as you really need the car to get around on the island.
We had the upper apartment and you could watch the amazing sunrise over the sea in the morning straight from the bed. The apartment was very clean and the surroundings well maintained. We also used the pool area a lot and almost every time had the whole place for ourselves. The beach was perfect and the kayaks and paddle boards were available all the time. You could really relax in this place, it's very quiet and you don't have to worry about being surrounded by tourist crowds.
Ritama is an excellent host and she did everything to make our holiday successful. We got to borrow the laptop for the entire time, and she even came up with some medicine when I got sick.
I think it's a dream holiday place for couples and families, we will definitely try to come back even if it is a long way! -

We spent a wonderful and relaxing week at Villa Escencia this past March. It was unlike anything we expected. Although the property has several different rental units, we felt totally secluded and it was completely private. We rarely ever saw the other guests on the property! Long Bay Beach is very quiet. You can look miles in either directly without seeing a soul at times. The water was clear and warm, although pretty shallow. Our villa was clean and had most everything we needed. We were able to stock up on some groceries and prepare a few meals to save on the restaurant costs. Since everything is imported, it is expensive. ( Curiously, some food items were priced similar to at home, like beef, while others are very high, like chicken?!?) Having the Jeep was so critical to the success of our trip. We went out everyday. We explored the entire island. Everything is conveniently close and driving on the left was not a big deal - there is little traffic. Ritama was very accommodating and friendly. If there weren't so many other caribbean islands to discover, we would definitely go back and stay at Villa Escencia again soon!

Villa Esencia is the perfect location for anyone who wants to enjoy the beauty of Turks & Caicos just off the beaten path and away from the resorts. We traveled with our 1 year old daughter, and our 2 room suite was terrific: spacious, clean, safe, and bright. We cooked every night using the gas grill, and sat under the stars in our private thatched hut on the beach, just a few steps from our flat. The suite also includes a ton of private, covered outdoor space for eating/playing. We essentially had the beach to ourselves every day - and the calm waters were great for our little girl. We felt sufficiently 'away from it all' - while being close enough not to inconvenience ourselves (e.g., it's only a 7 minute drive to the grocery store in Grace Bay). Ritama and Kabir live above the suite, but we never saw or heard them unless we needed something - great hosts. Their terrific dog, Seven, stayed close by and is amazing with toddlers. The suite also comes with a jeep - which is essential (cabs cost an arm and a leg in TCI) and a lot of fun for exploring the island. Couldn't be happier with our decision to stay here.

new yorkRelaxing Stay on Long Bay
Left on 01/21/2012 for a stay in March 2011
We stayed at Villa Esencia from March 15-23, 2011. We had come to Turks and Caicos before, and had stayed in a hotel, but we chose a villa this time in order to get a more private experience.
The property was clean, tastefully decorated, and well-managed, and the location, on Long Bay, is a quieter beach than Grace Bay. Since we like to be independent during our vacations, it was ideal that we hardly knew there was any staff at this property, except when we occasionally saw the owner and had a nice, brief chat.
We stayed in a one-bedroom as it was just the two of us, but there was plenty of room (a bedroom, bathroom w/shower, living room, kitchen, and outdoor balcony w/grill). The unit even had a stacked laundry machine, which we made use of. The internet access is much stronger than most places we have experienced in the Caribbean.
The only negative I can think of is that you definitely need to rent a car while staying at this property, which was not a problem for us as we had rented a car in advance. There is also a (well-behaved and friendly) dog on the property. His name is Seven. -

Left on 01/14/2012 for a stay in January 2012
My husband and I just spent our honeymoon at Villa Esencia for one week. We were there with 3 other families (two with small kids) and this place catered to both couples and families without being too much for either. I kept noticing how the set up was perfect for the other guests and their kids (toddlers and teenagers) and how my husband and I loved how secluded it felt (compared to a resort on Grace Bay). We tend to stray away from the crowds so Long Bay Beach was perfect for us where there was never more than 10 people on the beach. We rented a car and experienced the whole island with ease. I highly recommend this place. I also wanted to keep this place a secret but really appreciate the owners attention and service during the entire stay so I had to let others know how great a place this is. I hope to visit again soon.

Our stay at Villa Wyakha, on the same property as Villa Esencia, has been wonderful. We rented both floors of the townhouse -- my husband and I stayed in the upper apartment, and our two young-adult daughters stayed downstairs. The apartments adjoin, so we had privacy, but were still in the same house. It is beautiful, tastefully furnished, and comfortable in every way. We cooked several nights -- the kitchen is better than most rentals, with good quality pans, etc, and a gas grill. We realized we preferred sitting on our deck and dining by candlelight to any of the restaurants on the island, and we went to many of the best ones! It is so lovely. The beach is deserted -- it is like being on your own private island. The water is heavenly, and the wind which varied daily, didn't really bother us. The sand is soft and continues out into the water, it is very easy to walk in and out. The pool is very nice too, and was rarely used by anyone here. We sat in the hot tub at night and looked at the stars. The path down to the beach is easy and feels like a mini jungle. The grounds are naturally beautiful. I would prefer not to share this information, it is that great! but Ritama is an exceptional host, and deserves all the positive responses. We will be back!

The only reason I hesitated to write a review is because I want to keep this place all to myself. However when you stay with Ratima and Kabir you have to do the right thing. I never once felt like a customer, they made me feel like I was part of their family. They had a gathering of friends on the beach one night and we were invited to join in. Who does that? I liked that they respected our privacy, at the same time they were always available, for example my wife had mentioned that she wanted to make pina coladas and within minutes Ratima was at our front door with a blender. Kabir is very knowledgable about the island. We had stayed on Grace Bay a few times before and decided we wanted to try a villa this time instead of a resort, boy are we glad we did. Pleasing 2 teenage girls is not an easy thing to do but they were so happy with our choice to stay here this year instead of the resort. We have already locked in our dates for next year and hope the year goes by fast. Overall wondering family vacation!!
