Positioned DIRECTLY on the beautiful Sunset Beach between Salt Pond and Simms settlements at Wemyss, Long Island.The safe,calm west-facing beach is nearly 2 miles(3.5Kms) long and ideal for swimming,snorkeling,kayaking or just RELAXING as it is unlikely to see many other people on the beach.
One of the best restaurants in the Bahamas, Chez Pierre is only 6 minutes away by car whilst other places to eat can be found at either Salt Pond or Deals settlements as well as shops and fuel stations.
Reaching the villa from either Stella Maris (the nearest) or Deadmans Cay airports is easy and our dedicated taxi driver, Jerry Knowles of Taxi # 4 will greet you and bring you here. At the villa our representative, Ms.Lillie Harding, who also works for the Ministry of Tourism will welcome you and show you around and help with any local information.

Veramente un'ottima risorsa! Direttamente sulla bellissima spiaggia che la sera si tinge con bellissimi tramonti!
Casa ben arredata ed ottimamente equipaggiata. Tantissime finestre che guardano direttamente verso l mare. Zona tranquilla e silenziosa.
Ottime le dotazioni per il divertimento: kayak, racchette ed altro.
Non adatto a chi cerca vita mondana e divertimenti.
Le spiagge più belle dell'isola sono n po' lontane ma il viaggio vale

Meraviglioso! La villa è veramente bellissima e c'è tutto quello che serve per trascorrere una vacanza rilassante. Anche la posizione è strategica in quanto si trova quasi a metà tra il nord ed il sud dell'isola ... e quindi eccezionale per andare alla scoperta delle sue meraviglie! Peter e Betty sono persone fantastiche, gentilissime e molto disponibili. Peter saprà darvi tutti i consigli di cui avete bisogno. Come già detto Long Island è meravigliosa, spiagge bianchissime e tranquille e le persone del luogo sono molto cordiali. Consiglio sicuramente di andare a mangiare al ristorante Cape Santa Maria Resort e al Long Island Breeze a Salt Pond dove siamo stati trattati benissimo.

Eight adults arrived in Long Island on a Sunday, and the cab driver stopped at a store so we could get provisions. When we got to the house, it was beautiful - perfect for a group as large as ours, and a really nice long beach. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom, which was really private and convenient. My son was sailing in Caribbean with some friends, and they were able to anchor out in the bay so we could visit with them. We saw a lot of the island and met many friendly locals. A favourite area was Dean's blue hole, the atlantic side was quite rough so we didn't get to snorkel on that side. The swimming in our bay was lovely, and shallow for quite a way so good for children. Ate a lot of local fish and seafood - mahi mahi and black fin tuna, Nassau grouper, lobsters and crabs. We were able to buy some fresh tomatoes and cabbage, and the grocery stores were well stocked. We prepared almost all of our own meals, and one small observation would be the kitchen could be a bit better equipped.
Really enjoyed a local beach bar (rake and scrape night) and sailing a couple of small sailboats we borrowed. Played bocce ball with coconuts on the beach. Definitely would like to come back another year. -

Ideal location in the middle of the island. Modern villa with a practical floor plan & all the amenities you would ever need.
Loved everything, no complaints. Would come back in a heartbeat. -

ITALYA dreamlike vacation!

We've just returned from a dreamlike vacation on two Bahamas islands, Exuma and Long Island. Two real paradise islands! On both islands we stayed in apartments we personally rented on the internet(www.bahamasbeachapartments.com for Exuma and www.sunsetbeachvillabahamas.com for Long Island). The owners are an extremely nice English couple (Betty & Peter Oxley)who, since the beginning of our "deal" have been most helpful and kind, providing us with all useful infos. They even helped us with the flight transfer from Exuma to Long Island. Both apartment were cosy, smartly furnished, all comforts, in perfect condition and wonderfully located directly on the beach. We really loved staying there. The Sunset Beach Villa, in particular, is the perfect location for "The Vacation" once in a life one really has to enjoy! Miles and miles of white sandy beach just in front of the villa, no one disturbing you, deckchairs, kajaks and hammock at your disposal under the trees and a warm cristal clear water with plenty of fish!

La villa è nuova ed arredata con gusto e con tutti i confort, a pochi passi dal mare con dei tramonti bellissimi proprio di fronte la villa. Potete avere la macchina che conviene noleggiare direttamente da Peter e Betty. La mattina potete fare una bella nuotata davanti la villa, e dopo colazione davanti al mare, esplorate tutti i 100 Km della favolosa Long Island con tutte le indicazioni che Peter vi fornirà.

Il nostro primo pensiero, approdando dal mare direttamente sulla spiaggia sulla quale si affaccia la villa, e' stato: varra' veramente la pena passare la nostra settimana di vacanza girovagando per l'isola o sara' invece preferibile starsene ad oziare in questo paradiso riservato solo a noi?
La villa e' veramente magnifica, spaziosa, nuovissima, ben arredata e fornita di ogni comfort, immersa in un boschetto di palme e con a disposizione, sulla spiaggia privata, un'amaca, due kajak oceanici ed un barbeque dove poter cucinare il pesce fresco ammirando il sole che tramonta sul mare.
in ogni caso non si puo' non andare anche in giro per l'isola ad ammirare le splendide spiaggie a Sud e l'incantevole Santa Maria a Nord (giudicata una delle top 10 del mondo) come pure tuffarsi nei due Blue Hall che si trovano sul lato atlantico (in particolare nel Deans Blue Hall, il piu' profondo del Mondo).
Programmare la vacanza e' stato veramente semplice; i proprietari, Betty e Peter ci hanno fornito con estrema cortesia indicazioni quotidiane sul cosa vedere e dove mangiare, nonche' procurato una macchina con la quale potersi spostare agevolmente.
Ma la nostra piu' grande e piacevole sorpresa e' stata nell'incontrare e vivere con gli indigeni dell'isola: gioia, spensieratezza, disponibilita', spontaneita' ed un largo sorriso sempre presente nei loro occhi ci hanno colpito profondamente e fatto riflettere sul come la vewra qualita' della vita non alberga nei freddi sentimenti che soffocano il mondo nel quale abitualmente viviamo.
Un grazie di cuore a Peter e Betty per la loro disponibilita' e cortesia.
Un meraviglioso ricordo di luoghi bellissimi ed incontaminati abitati da uno splendido popolo ci hanno accompagnati nel viaggio di ritorno. -

The rental was beautiful. It is actually even nicer than the website indicates. The villa was spacious, comfortable, and well-constructed. It was just a few steps to a pretty beach that was quiet and perfect for our grandkids. We really enjoyed the kayaks, the barbecue pit and the car. We found lots of fun things to do within short driving distance. It was a wonderful place to stay.

We rented the Sunset Beach Villa on Long Island, Bahamas and we were totally satisfied. The communication with the renter was easy and the payment went smoothly through PayPal. The house is gorgeous: everything is brand new, tastefully furnished and equipped with everything you can need, from a washer/dryer to a WiFi high-speed Internet connection, yet no TV. The house is located on a secluded, wonderful beach where two hammocks and the sound of waves provide full relax. Long Island offers a genuine and unspoiled environment with natural beauty and friendly people. A car is necessary for moving around on the island and the possibility of renting it in a package with the house was practical and convenient. Our total experience was more than positive.

siamo stati al Sunset Beach Villa dall' 8 al 15
Gennaio.
Arrivavamo da Exuma e Peter, il proprietario
premuroso e gentilissimo, ha fatto il viaggio con
noi fino a Long Island.
La casa è stupenda e la posizione lo è ancora di
piu'; ogni sera lo spettacolo del tramonto era
emozionante !!! L'appartamento è ampio, spazioso,
bello, molto bene arredato ed è praticamente in
mare; l'abbiamo trovato pulitissimo, provvisto di
cucina (completamente attrezzata, piano cottura,
frigorifero, freezer, microonde), un grande
salotto, due camere,due bagni con doccia,
lavatrice, asciugatrice e internet wi-fi !!!
inoltre ha un balcone che gira intorno a tutta la
casa.
L'appartamento è una sistemazione perfetta, adatta
a tutte le esigenze ed in particolare alle famiglie
un po' numerose come la nostra.
Peter provvede anche al noleggio dell'auto ed è un
eccellente e premuroso consulente per tutte le
informazioni turistiche sulle Bahamas.
Se avremo la fortuna di tornare alle bahamas,
sicuramente torneremo da Betty & Peter -

Communicating with Betty and Peter regarding the Villa rental arrangements was a pleasure. We arrived on the afternoon of x-mas eve and had the owners kindly take care of some holiday shopping for us. The 2 interconnecting villas are suitable for a large party or 2 families travelling together. There are 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and a dedicated washer-dryer in each unit which we found very convenient. The Villa is in brand new condition and tastefully decorated. The 2 mile beach is great for long nature walks and we also enjoyed the 2 kayaks that come with rental very much. The WiFi connection was not reliable; We would also recommend adding some beach furniture. Overall, Sunset beach Villa is a great choice for a quiet stay on Long Island. It offers easy access for touring other parts of the island and we warmly and wholeheartedly recommend it for a memorable stay.

Sunset Beach Villa is a beautiful house with everything you could possibly need for a perfect tropical getaway. The house is light, airy and beautifully appointed; the beach just a short wander through the garden and the sea the most glorious blue. Lounge in the hammocks, frolic in the sea or just gaze at the view from the deck whilst sipping your cocktails - PERFECT!

The place is really a paradise. The house is fantastic, new, equipped in a great location.
The beach in front is very beautiful, and have breakfast in the morning watching the sea is priceless.
Peter and Betty were very kind and helped us for any requirement.
I recommend this place at all for the beauty of Long Island and the hospitality of the owners
