Longboat Key is 60 miles from Tampa international Airport, 14 mi. from the Sarasota/Bradenton International Airport. We are located mid-island on on the Gulf side of the Key, just a quick drive from numerous restaurants and shopping opportunities on the island. Dining and live music in St armand's Key, Sarasota, and Bradenton are 15-30 minutes away.

This was the best place I ever stayed in - it was just on the beech and even though the water was chilly the pool is heated- the grounds are a delight for plant lovers , and included an orchid garden- the staff are top class - always there and always more than helpful - there is a security fellow in charge at night - Justin- he is more than helpful - and the service over teh 24 hrs is just great if you arrive late at night and are lost - Justin will keep you on the phone until you arrive !!! thanks for that Justin. We will definitly be returning and the sooner the better , in all a great place and it included the lovely apartment with all mod cons and spotlessly clean - Patricia Bowler

Casa Del Mar is a wonderful vacation resort on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico. The unit that I was in overlooked the pool and had a marvelous view of the beach and Gulf waters which also means that I had a view of an magnificent sunset almost every evening. It was delightfully decorated and had all the amenities of home. The 2 tennis courts are hard-courts that are kept up very well. The pool is warm and inviting and the beach has extraordinarily soft sand. Swimming in the Gulf was a dream -- the water was warm and I could walk out 100 feet and the water would not be over my head. All kinds of shopping and restaurants are nearby. Fishing is great in September especially for Spanish Mackerel. Simply cast and retrieve a silver spoon as fast as you can through a school of bait-fish and you will catch mackerel. This can be done from the shores of Casa Del Mar, although I did most of my fishing off of City Pier on anna Maria Island, just north of Longboat Key. Like I said before -- Perfect Vacation -- Quiet, Peaceful, Relaxing -- fun!!!
