Romantic Baja getaway in Loreto Bay
Loreto, Baja California, Mexico
What's Nearby:
Additional Location Information
Loreto Bay is a expat community outside Loreto, Mexico, on the Sea of Cortez side of the Baja peninsula. Loreto, the original capital of the Californias, offers plenty of restaurants, shopping and historical sights, deep-sea fishing and water sports. But the best beach is in Loreto Bay. One of the highlights of the area is the Isle Coronado, with it's pristine water, and white sandy beaches. And Isle Carmen, known for it's abundant sea life. Both are just a short Ponga boat ride away.

Seattle, Washington, United StatesPerfect - Most relaxing spot ever!!

I cannot reccoment this property highly enough - My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon and we loved it! The condo is beautiful - far exceeded our expectations. Everything you need is right there in the condo - kitchen supplies, a great grill, towels, its fantastic! Location cannot be beat - proximety to pool, beach, etc... is wonderful. Getting from the airport is super easy we just hopped in a shared cab for $8/person. If you go in the off season buy food/water on your way to Loreto Bay because the small store in the area often closes early or is not open at all! Otherwise perfect location for a relaxing vacation.

My wife and I spent the last three weeks of December, 2011 here. It was our first visit to Loreto Bay.
The unit is as nice and well-appointed as other reviewers have mentioned. The retail space on the first floor is the very nice Nopolo Wine Cellar, providing a good selection of wines and spirits, and great tapas. Cynthia, Will and Ramon will treat you right.
The beach at Loreto Bay is excellent for walking and beachcombing. Herons, egrets, vultures, pelicans, and cormorants will accompany you on your strolls. The occasional scarlet tanager provided a flash of color.
Aaron and anita provided great instructions and helpful details in their communication before our travels. We had no issues that required the assistance of the property manager, but he stopped by in the first few days to introduce himself and offer his services.
If you're looking for a quiet, luxurious home to stay in, this is your spot. The Nopolo Wine Cellar is icing on the cake. -

Leland NCOur stay at anita's in Loreto Bay exceeded all our expectations!

From the moment we arrived my husband and I were struck with the natural beauty of the surroundings. The development with its colorful villas, surrounded by the mountains is a sight to behold. The sunsets seen from the top level of the condo are spectacular only equalled by the display of stars against the black velvet sky at night.
The condo itself is beautiful, spacious and comfortably furnished. We enjoyed morning breakfast on the lower level terrace and evening dining on the upper level under the spectacular canopy of stars.
The master bedroom is huge, and the bathroom is luxurious with a deep soaking tub and oversize shower. The amenities provided by anita, including the matching robes in the master bedroom made you feel you were at a luxury hotel.
The beach on the beautiful Sea of Cortez is a short walk from your door and the water is warm and inviting. We enjoyed not only relaxing by the sea but also snorkeling, kayaking and dining at two of the restaurants on the hotel premises. There is also a fabulous golf course with additional dining choices and great views.
In addition to the sea, you can swim in one of the two beautiful inviting pools or just relax under the palapas.
We loved going into the nearby town of Loreto which is an unspoiled gem where you can soak in the local culture or enjoy dining at one of the restaurants. We especially enjoyed the restaurant at the La Mision Hotel on the Malacon. The seafood was scrumptious and the service superb!
Be sure to convert your currency into Mexican pesos as that is the only currency accepted in most shops.
We would definitely like to return to Loreto Bay!

Steve and anita's casa was more that we expected, from the friendly service at the grocery store to the outstanding help we received from artura ( property manager ) There was always someone there to ask any questions we may have had..
Tom and I bought a month membership at the Loreto Golf and Country Club where we also found exceptional service.
We took full advantage of the unlimited golf where there was always a great breeze off of the sea of cortez, and plenty of cold beer.
We rented a car from ace in San jose del cabo and drove, it took us 7 hours as we took our time, not being familiar with the roads. ( 6 hours back ) Watch out for cows. Omg
Made many a trip into Loreto, quaint little village with great food, went to Brunos on the main street a couple of times for lunch ( great pizza ) and icy draught beer.
So with that being said, Thank you Steve and anita for providing us with great memories and tip top service.

Founders, Loreto Bay, MX
Seattle, WAThis is the laid back, hassle free Mexico you always wanted!
Left on 01/21/2011 for a stay in January 2011
This property is located in the Founders neighborhood of the Loreto Bay development. Some of the roads are still under development, but that is not a problem. A major plus is that all the facilities at the Inn at Loreto Bay are available to you. This includes their beach chairs, their pool, their restaurant, Wi-Fi, etc... There is also a community pool right out the door of this unit.
There is a small grocery store nearby that has everything you would need to survive. The grocery also has free Wi-Fi.
This unit is on a main intersection and not far from the beach (no units are far from the beach), but near the grocery store, the community pool, and the inn. The first floor is part of a furniture store and used for storage, so you are actually up on the second and third floors and off the street. The third floor is basically a nice, large outdoor balcony with good views of the area. The furnishings are not elaborate, but more than adequate for a rental unit.
The rental agent was very accomodating and helpful.
All in all, a very quiet, laid back, hassle free experience. -

The patio off the main living space is private and sunny with a water fountain and chaise lounges - perfect for reading or sunning. The top patio has great views of the surrounding mountains. We found the bed to be really comfortable. Loved the tub! Also liked the fact that the unit is next to a community swimming pool and close to the hotel. We were surprised at how the clear the water is along the shoreline - awesome for sea kayaking. All in all it was quiet and great for a couple getaway!
