On arriving at our destination, we were blown away(after climbing an incredibly steep driveway!), by the most magnificent view of the beach via the wide expanse of windows across the lounge room. The master bedroom (very large) also has beautiful views, with a lovely ensuite/central bathroom that has has a shower with a huge window with a garden backdrop. Everyone loved showering there. The other two rooms whilst smaller, are very comfortable, and there is a second bathroom and toilet, thus enabling 2 small families to share easily. We loved how the kitchen, dining and lounge area all had views of the beach, with the decking being a wonderful afternoon retreat for drinks and reading. Whilst the steep driveway is not for the faint hearted (all the surrounding hills), we found it was good exercise and we certainly got used to it after a week. We did still have to drive to the beach, as it was too far away with carrying beach equipment, but it is easily walkable if you travel light. We had a great stay, loved being close to Lorne and all it has to offer, and thought the house was very comfortable and catered for guests extremely well.

The house is well appointed in a good location and excellent views. The driveway steepness would test some drivers. Better quality toilet paper would be appreciated.

Lorne was awonderful resort and we would love to return.
The rental was very good - clean and well provided for. The position, as far as location and views, was outstanding. Great kitchen and living area and good outside space. Any quibbles are greatly outweighed by the positive.
A few poinnts are:
- you need to be fit to get to the rental unless you drive all the time. But then without the steep slopes you wouln't have the wonderful view,
- the barbecue was rather old and not well cleaned when we came to use it,
- most vitally, the house on arrival lacked a simple set of basic instructions and recommendations. As a result we didn't know how to turn on the hot water and had to make relevant phone calls. It would also have been useful to have recommendations of good local places to eat and warning about traffic just after Christmas before the festival,
- finally, we had trouble locking up correctly at the end of our stay - the suggested key left outside didn't appear to lock the door outside.
Despite these comments we loved the place and would go back next week if we could.

This property is situated about 5 min walk to the beach and 15 min walk into the town centre. The view is amazing just as pictured. The property is very clean and up to date. However the property has no smoke alarms...
