Description from the manager
High on the side of a hill, looking out over the folds of the Chianti landscape, Casa Silvia is an enchantingly simple house, with terraces and gardens ranged around it allowing you to follow the sun or avoid it. This is a house designed for reading, sipping wine and setting the world to rights, relaxed in an armchair watching the sun change the colours of the hills as it sinks in the distance. A path leads to the nearby Loro Ciuffena - a 20 minute walk that avoids the roads and gets you in the mood for one of the good local restaurants - remember to take a torch for your walk back amongst the fireflies.

BernWonderful house - also for small children
Left on 11/07/2012 for a stay in October 2012
Our stay in Casa Silvia was fabulous. This house is just a dream and specially with 3 small children it is a wonderful and safe place. There were many toys for our kids to play with and the house is very good equipt. The kitchen is great and there a so many possibilities to have breakfast or dinner around the house. There is always enough shade. We found everything we needed. Silvia and her husband are very friendly and we felt so comfortable in their wonderful house!
Thanks a lot for this great week!

LondonA lovely secluded honeymoon getaway
Left on 06/06/2012 for a stay in May 2012
We were hoping for something peaceful and isolated for our honeymoon and got exactly what we wished. The villa is delightful, with breathtaking views from all corners. There is one other house within shouting distance but lived in by a local family who are polite but not intrusive. The kitchen is beautiful, the gardens expansive and the nearby village hosts a very convenient market on a monday to stock up with wonderful fresh produce. Within easy driving distance of Siena and Florence (the latter being a nightmare to drive around once there, be warned and get advance directions from your hotel!!!) but we didn;t really want to leave to hit civilisation as the villa itself was so peaceful. And although we did not meet Silvia herself, we were left with a delightful bottle of Prosecco and some olive oil produced from the olives on the grounds. Stay here, it's wonderful.

Wow. When I was planning my 40th birthday, I wanted to spend it in the Tuscan countryside in a beautiful villa. Casa Silvia was all I imagined and more.
From our first communication with Invitation to Tuscany to our welcome by the villa's owner we were not disappointed. When they asked us is we "liked" the house, I had to stop myself from bursting into tears. It was perfect!!!
A place of infinite natural beauty and solace, Casa Silvia was the perfect place to cook with friends, delight in the lizards roaming the property (all small!) and to imagine that all of life's burdens had slipped away. Invitation to Tuscany provided us with an unforgettable experience in booking a cooking lesson with a chef at one of the area's best restaurants - Il Canto del Maggio and went to the trouble of also finding a translator so we could really enjoy the experience. We said it wasn't just a cooking lesson - it was more like " Be adopted by an Italian family for the day" as we cooked and learned and then joined the entire family to eat the lunch we had just made together.
The villa was exceptionally clean and well equipped and the photographs on the website do not do it justice. The surroundings are beautiful and the hiking superb. There are fantastic and well marked trails throughout the area that provide amazing views and experiences. We were entranced and at a loss as to where to spend our leisure time as there are so many beautiful and picturesque terraces and vistas. With Silvia's permission, we raided the garden and cooked and ate the best food we had in Italy.
Being greeted by the family (who are lucky to own this piece of heaven) with a bottle of olive oil from the property and a bottle of wine from the vineyard in sight was pure perfection. Perfectly located for day trips to Sienna, Florence,Greve and Radda in Chianti, it was a place to come home to. Italy is full of man made treasures, but Casa Silvia captures the natural beauty of Bella Toscana to its utmost. -

It was such a treat to stay at Casa Silvia - sitting on the balcony in the evenings, looking out at that stunning view, it felt like a totally private idyll. And yet Siena and Florence were only a couple of hours away. The kitchen facilities were excellent and the bedrooms very comfortable. Slightly alarmed to be visited by wild boar in the middle of the night, but we soon realised they had only come for the fruit trees! A wonderful holiday, we didn't want to leave.

Myself and my husband have just returned from a week long stay at Casa Silvia. The house is situated just outside Loro Ciuffena along a private road...you must have a small car to navigate the road. We were a little daunted by the narrow road, but very quickly we were used to it and it seemed normal after a few days!
The house was more than we expected, the rooms are spacious, the kitchen excellently equipped, the shower is lovely and everywhere you turn there seems to be another terrace or garden! The views are spectacular and we didn't want to leave to explore Tuscany. When we did, Casa Silvia is in a great location for exploring. Loro Ciufenna is a great little town, one of the most picturesque and the people are helpful and friendly.
The owners were very helpful, driving to the house on a Saturday evening to give us a guided tour and were available on the phone if we needed them. Check in and out was very simple and all in all we loved our stay. We would definitely return.Response from Invitation to Tuscany Ltd - 05/19/2011

So pleased you liked it - we think it's a lovely little house and has fantastic views! The road - and particularly the corner - is certainly a little narrow, but as you say one quickly gets used to it, the main thing is not to rent an enormous car!
kind regards

We stayed there for 2 weeks with a 5 year old and we had something nice and significant to do every day. Casa Silvia is situated in the best part of Tuscany, which is rural, beautiful and spotless. For those, who have not been there it is important to know, that the house is quite high up, road is narrow and not very easy, but it is worth the trouble. I had one of the nicest holidays ever.

I stayed at Casa Silvia with my husband and my sister and her husband. My husband and I had just got married 2 days before in Greece. We were so happy to arrive at Casa Silvia. The 4 of us had an amazing time there. We relaxed outside, went on long walks and made delicious meals. My greatest memories of Casa Silvia are sitting outside on the patio for hours at night drinking wine and enjoying great food.

We had a simply perfect stay. The house is brilliantly equipped in every way and could not be better for a family holiday. In this case Grandparents with a young family with a 3 year old child.
