Lostwithiel allows you to explore the north and south coasts of Cornwall with equal ease, as the neck of land that travels down to Land’s End gets narrower and narrower. 16 Brunel Quays was originally a railway building, named after its designer, Isambard Kingdom Brunel. It has been restored to offer a high standard of accommodation, but retains many of its original features, such as arched windows and exposed stonework. All prices are inclusive of the booking fee. The "Min. Per Night" prices quoted are based on the weekly rental price, they are not applicable for short breaks. See our short break policy or ask for further details.
Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

16 Brunel Quays was our base for four weeks in October.My husband is registered blind and we are both in our 70s. Our children and grandchildren came to stay for varying lengths of time and there is ample accommodation for 7.
We found the connection with Brunel interesting, and the conversion very well done.
We did not need to drive anywhere as all the amenities were so close. We even walked up to the castle although the final hill was steep.
Lostwithiel is an interesting town, most of the shops are privately owned and sell superb local produce.
The washing machine was great but the dryer was not very good.

A modern spacious yet historical terraced conversion of one of Brunel's carriage sheds. As a group of elderly tourist's who wanted a base to explore all that this area of Cornwall has to offer then this property excelled. With milk, tea, coffee and biscuits awaiting our arrival to all mod appliances to hand and comfy beds for a good nights sleep we all enjoyed a welcome break. Within walking distance there are a variety of shops and pubs, all with very friendly staff, and we can recommend the food at the Royal Talbot, complete with real ale and a jazz band, when we dined. The adjacent railway is not intrusive, if anything more of a novelty with the length of the China Clay trains and hardly audible, but then we are all over 60! All in all we would recommend Brunel Quays and we look forward to re-visiting.

Everything about the holiday accommodation was excellent. The only downside was the noise from the train station close by. The last train was at 11.30 pm and was very loud in the bedroom accommodation. The first train in the morning was 6/6.30 am and you don't really want to be woken at 6.30 on your holiday. That was the only time you noticed the noise of the train was late at night and early morning. Quite annoying and spoilt an otherwise excellent property. Plus we did ask about the trains before we rented the accommodation and were told that the noise would be minimal.

The property was spotless and very well furnished with lots of facilities. We were made very welcome and our comfort considered at all times. Clear instructions for all appliances. The patio is a lovely place to sit and watch the wild life on the river. Lostwithiel itself is charming with great walks in all directions. The station is very closeby, making travel without the car easy.

house was very well equipped. Lostwithiel is a
pleasant town with shops and restaurants in easy
walking distance and centrally located for visiting
the many places of interest in the area. We even
enjoyed the trains going past the front of the house.
