Fantastic family accommodation well situated to explore Lincolns

Left on 04/19/2013 for a stay in March 2013

Spacious yet cosy, lovely peaceful wooded setting perfect for kids to explore on bikes or foot with gentle walk to lovely pool facility. The cottage was perfectly clean and well maintained with a lovely little welcome card from the owner and fresh milk in the fridge! We enjoyed exploring Louth, the coast and other interesting landmarks in between, as well as a trip to Lincoln. We stayed the week before the season started so were unable to visit a few attractions which hadn't opened yet, but that only made us more keen to come again.

Peaceful stay in the woods with very good facilities at hotel ne

Left on 08/01/2012 for a stay in July 2012

If you are wanting a lively holiday with lots of entertainment - this is not the holiday for you! The stay in the woods was lovely and peaceful. The only drawback was that because it was high summer, the cabin was in the shade a lot of the time (I know the fact that the name of the place is Kenwick Woods should have been a clue - but I didn't realise quite how 'woody' it would be!). However it was not too bad at No 39 as it gets the sun in the morning, but some of the cabins were really dark and even in bright sunshine had lights on inside. The cabin itself was well equipped but we did have to buy a tin opener as the one provided did not work. We did report this to the hotel on departure so hopefully they will have replaced this. The cabin is very spacious in the living area part and the master bedroom but the other two bedrooms were a bit small. The facilities at the adjoining hotel are very good - we made good use of the pool, tennis courts and the exercise classes. We ate once at the hotel for a treat and the food was very good. A really lovely holiday if you like walking and being out in the countryside and if the weather is not so good you have the use of the hotel facilities. Nearby Louth is a lovely town and has an amazing Museum that is well worth a visit. I will definitely be returning - but perhaps in Spring or autumn when the trees are less leafy!

      Memorable visit to the countryside

Left on 01/13/2012 for a stay in November 2011

Not quite knowing what to expect my wife booked a visit to a lodge at Kenwick Woods as an opportunity to do something different for our daughters birthday, and so it proved. Together with friends this was our first visit and it will not be the last, what a pleasant experience. A very comfortable lodge in wonderful surroundings allowed us to celebrate without interfering or upsetting others. If there is a criticism
then I have to say the signage of the site could be improved. Having reported to the hotel and receiving the keys and paperwork we then discovered the first problem. The lack of any signs indicating the lodge site was a problem, and this was not confined to us. According to the Golf Club's greenkeeper we were one of many experiencing this problem. Along the track leading to the site there is sign stating this is private property so one presumes we are on the wrong route, and this is the first sign one comes across. A sign at the beginning of the track would alleviate this problem.

      Good holiday bad start

Left on 09/23/2011 for a stay in June 2011

Facilities fabulous but lodge was not cleaned by said time and we had to wait with two children outside the lodge whilst they cleaned, they had forgotten to do our lodge! Hence we started the holiday a bit stressed. Otherwise great as third room was twin rather than bunks for our young children.

Great location and lovely cosy accomodation

Left on 03/03/2011 for a stay in December 2010

Enjoyed a lovely time. Although not that much to do for the children the use of the leisure club was fantastic and we had a few lovely walks in the woods. The accomodation was cosy, spacious and warm although did lack a few essential items in the kitchen.
