The Villa is located in the scenic island of Bequia oftern described as the "real caribbean". " Friendly people, natural beauty, and island charm make Bequia a very special place. Known for years by sailors, it is now being discovered by travelers seeking a natural place to relax and unwind." The Villa is located in the heart of Lower Bay less than 10 minutes away from Port Elizabeth by taxi or rented car. The covered pickup truck is a common taxi in Bequia and very practical. You benefit from the cooling breezes as you make your way around the island and are provided with an excellent view to take in the island beauty.
The Villa is situated in a forested and breezy spot about 100 meters up a gentle incline from Lower Bay. The views from the Villa's balcony are stunning. Lower Bay is frequently described as one of the highlights of the island of Bequia. Lower bay is a very good location for a family vacation, the beach is clean, and the sea is safe it even has a natural nursery pool created by a coral reef. Great bars/restaurants along this beach include Keegans, De Reef and Mango's where you can get refreshments and tasty reasonably priced local food. The highly rated Fernando's Hideaway, or Nando's is also just a short walk away.
De Reef restaurant has regular shows by local bands on the weekends and is a popular local hangout spot in peak tourist season.
Bequia and the Grenadines is internationally recognised for its fabulous diving and sailing.
The Lower Bay area ia really the perfect location to unwind.

We had a lovely time. Jo, the housekeeper, was very helpful.
Having info re a taxi driver, ferries, restaurants and places to visit was also good.
Suggestion - if the downstairs room is to be rented independently, a microwave, TV and coffee equipment would make it self contained.
The stroll to the beach was good.

Thank you for your review. The additional room is not rented as a standalone apartment, it is offered to guests who have rented the two bedroom room apartment on the upper level or the single bedroom apartment on the lower Level, and require an additional bedroom.
If a guest requires kitchen facilities and TV on the both levels they can of course rent the upper and lower level apartments together.
Bequia and its beaches are generally very tranquil the one exception is the Easter weekend when many locals flock to the beaches. This includes ferry excursions ( normally a younger crowd!) from the mainland.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the upper level of Francyn Villa for 2 weeks in October. It was an excellent experience and we are already planning another visit in the peak season. Pros proximity to Lower Bay, walking distance to Keegans, De Reef, Nandoos and Mangos , the quality of accommodation, view from porch and daily swims in Lower Bay.
Francyn Villa is 150 yds to Lower Bay road but this short distance places it in a very serene location. The housekeeping staff were also very attentive and the villa was spotless. Bequia has mosquitoes but Deep Woods took care of that.
The owner was doing work on the lower level, owing to this we got a discounted rate. The upper level has all modern conveniences in the kitchen and the bedroom is very airy and relaxing. There is a back porch from the upper level that didn't feature in any of the pictures we had seen prior to arrival. This became our regular seating for breakfast as it had outdoor furniture and a mobile market umbrella. We found this the ideal location to enjoy a cup of brewed coffee on mornings. There is a very useful outdoor shower just off the back porch and this came in quite handy to wash the sand off when coming off the beach.
My girlfriend enjoyed the indoor recliners for reading. I fell asleep in the recliners most evenings!
We met the owner who does not live in bequia but had come over to supervise the work . A highlight of the visit was when we went to Piaget farm to buy some lobsters from the local fishermen. Boiling a live lobster can be quite traumatic! Luckily the owners introduced us to a local who boiled the lobster for us. Definitely not something you would want to do in your kitchen as the pot overflows with foam when the lobster is ready. If you prepare your lobster yourself you save more than half the cost over purchasing in a restaurant but it is some work especially getting all the meat out from the upper body .
We highly recommend Francyn Villa and look forward to a future visit.

It was nearly perfect. The owner has only just started letting the apartments and it was too sparsely fitted.no bedside lights,no music system,and what is annoying to holidaymakers is 4 knives,4 spoons,4 plates,etc no extras at all which at this price you would expect.Garden unmade. Hopefully owner will listen and these points should be rectified before next year.If he does it will be perfect.

Thank you stuart for your comments. We did check in with Stuart during his stay and added reading lamps. The upper level apartment does house a maximum of two couples so cutlery for four place settings is provided. Additional items are available on request from our house manager if necessary.
We do expect to be adding some additonal items to the house later this year and that would include a Sony mini hifi shelf system.
We have a detailed inventory of all items in each apartment available on our web site and we welcome any enquiries.
