Description from the manager

COUNTRY HOUSE COLLECTION

Cardy Net House was built in 1867 by D. Gillies, a direct descendant of Alexander Selkirk (Robinson Crusoe) who was born in Lower Largo. This former net factory supplied fishing nets for the herring industry and was skilfully renovated by the architect owners to offer an exceptional and unique holiday home which has featured on television. The impressive interior has a vast open plan living area, one wall is entirely glazed with triple patio doors opening onto a sun terrace overlooking the beach and enjoying magnificent uninterrupted views across the sea and East coastline. Amazing House and Holiday

Left on 09/06/2012 for a stay in July 2012

We arranged a large family holiday here back in July for two special family birthdays. This was the perfect location for 4 families to reside under one roof!

The house and grounds were fantastic, plenty of room without all being under each others feet. The views were magnificent and there was so much to do in the surrounding area.

We had 4 young children with us and they were never bored with games in the house, large garden including a trampoline and the beach out front to run around on.

Would highly recommend this rental property and location. Couldn't ask for anything more...it was a perfect holiday!

Walking into the entrance hall the word is wow!!! Moving into the main living area the fraze is Oh my God!! But the view just takes your breath away. The holiday fund is being added to at every possible time I want to go there again. The area is also beatiful a week is not enough to enjoy the property and the area.

Beautiful area, best place to chill out

Left on 11/04/2010 for a stay in December 2009

The house itself is lovely - you are, at first, over-awed by the space. The main part of the house - lounge, dining, kitchen are really nice and have a lovely modern yet cosy feel to them. The only criticism I would have - though not really a criticism, just a suggestion - is that the bedrooms be updated a little. They really don't seem to fit in with the main part of the house and are a little cold and sparse. But other than that, it is definitely the place to go - any time of year - if you want to chill out. It is so large that you can have a part of 14 and not be under each other's feet. The location (right on the beach) is excellent and Lower Largo is very central for visiting other places of interest round about, like Edinburgh, St andrews, etc.
