    Additional Location Information

Situated on the edge of a lovely, restored hamlet near several well-known medieval villages perched on hilltops (Roussillon, Gordes, Bonnieux, for example), Lagniappe has a large, private garden overlooking trees, mountains and orchards. Walking, hiking and cycling are ideal in this picturesque countryside and beautiful Luberon sunshine; rosemary and thyme grow wild in the woods that one smells on walks to the ocre cliffs of Roussillon.

The property is well situated to take advantage of the famous daily Provencal markets in different towns each day. The Roman town of Apt, only 5 km away, has a well known Saturday market, many seasonal fetes and wonderful restaurants. Enjoy cycling, hiking, local markets from your oasis base at Lagniappe. The Marseille Airport, Aix-en-Provence and Mediterranean beaches are one hour away; Avignon (with TGV train) is 45 minutes; skiing (Montagne de Lure) is one hour.

Charming Home in the Perfect Location

Left on 08/14/2011 for a stay in July 2011

Our week stay was too short! The home is lovely, clean, well equiped and a perfect starting point for our daily adventures. The bedrooms are spacious and well decorated, the kitchen is fully capable of supporting the appetites of two teenagers and the terraces and pool area were perfect for relaxing from morning to night. Booking the house and arriving went flawlessly. All was as we anticipated throughout our stay. The lovely towns of Roussillon and Gargas are easily reached within minutes for sightseeing and shopping (especially those daily morning trips for pain au chocolat at the boulanger). In fact, the entire Lubéron is easily accesible from this perfectly located house. It exceeded our best and most optimistic expectations and we hope to return next year for a much longer stay!

      Great week with extended family

Left on 01/27/2011 for a stay in August 2008

Wonderful tranquil location in tiny hamlet, spacious, cool and very clean house nicely furnished and well equipped. We took extended family of seven and had plenty of space. Reasonably-sized lawn around a good-sized swimming pool with clean water. Pool indispensable in the hot sunny Luberon weather we had. Just what we wanted. We were not disappointed and would definitely return if we had a big group again. Booking by e-mail was straight-forward. Website (www.clavie.com) photos give a realistic idea of the locale and house. Thoroughly recommended.

Idyllic vacation home in beautiful location

Left on 01/23/2011 for a stay in June 2010

We were 7 adults, parents with adult children and their spouses. The house was perfect for us and would be for families with young children or several couples. The location was beautiful, quiet and picturesque, yet close enough to see the perched villages, visit the wonderful markets or make day trips to any other places of interest, ie. Avignon, St. Remy, Les Baux etc. We biked throughout the beautiful countryside right from the house , hiked in Rouission , travelled to Chateauneuf du pape and just "lazed" around this perfect house on the terrace from our bedroom and had wine, cheese and tapenades on the terrace outside of the living room. Our "hosts" Tracey and Philippe were wonderful to rent from. They were responsive to all our questions and everything was as planned upon arrival and departure with loads of information in the house from brochures to guide books and extensive instructions necessary to make our stay in a foreign country as easy as could be. The only small problem was the bees under the wood planking by the pool, so we did not use that area. I would highly recommend renting this home.
