We have just returned from our second stay at this wonderful apartment. It was as perfect as we remembered it and we had a marvellous time in beautiful Lucca. I cannot rate the apartment highly enough and, as before, Balbir's communication with us was impeccable throughout the booking process. Thanks to Balbir and family for affording us the opportunity to enjoy such a beautiful and perfect place!

Everything about our stay was fantastic. The apartment is in a perfect location. It is huge and filled with light - apparently unusual for Lucca, given the narrow streets and high buildings. It is perfect for 2 couples - imagine 2 suites with plenty of privacy with a common kitchen.
Lucca itself is a treasure. We stayed here 3 weeks after travelling around Italy. While in Lucca, we had a car, but I felt it unnecessary, depending in the degree of adventure you want. My favorite days were the days we stayed in Lucca.
This apartment is perfect for people who want to experience Italy as a resident, and for those who love to cook. The kitchen is large and highly functional. The Esselunga grocery store is a 10-15 minute walk.
If you do have a car, note the free parking lots on the street behind the Esselunga store. We never had trouble finding a spot there.
Finally, our experience with the landlord was fantastic. He is extremely conscientious and communicates right away. We had a few issues and questions which were cleared up immediately. His caretaker was similarly committed to making our stay as comfortable and successful as possible.
As to our concerns - I was anxious wiring money to Europe for deposits etc, as many scams are promulgated this way. But Balbir turned out to be honest and ethical, so it worked out fine. As to what's missing - perhaps a microwave in the kitchen would make it even better.
Also, we stayed in april and had no trouble at all with insects, but I understand Lucca is famous for mosquitoes in the summer. Window screens are apparently unheard of in Italy - probably considered unaesthetic. In any case, the beds have mosquito nets, but if you are visiting in the summer, be forewarned.
Lastly, yes this apartment is on the top floor - which is why there is so much light. Sixty steps, I counted. For us, this was good, as it added to the daily exercise in a good way. -

My husband and I stayed here in april 2012. What an experience!
This apartment really is just perfect. Attention to detail in terms of design and facilities is fabulous! We found the location to be perfect - central, yet quiet.
This was our 3rd stay in Lucca and this apartment beat the others hands down. It is absolutely huge, bright and airy. Our friends also stayed with us during the week and they were most impressed and could not believe that they had the 'West Wing' to themselves!
After busy days sightseeing in Tuscany, there was no better feeling than anticipating a return to this fabulous place and relaxing before an evening in beautiful Lucca.
Balbir's communication with us throughout the whole booking process was impeccable. Directions, instructions and tips for a great holiday were second to none. As a result, our minds were always at rest in terms of anticipating great service.
We will be back in Lucca at some point in the near future and will look no further when we return. -

We arrived at the apartment after 17 hours of flying and waiting around in airports and we were absolutely delighted with what we found. The apartment was every bit as beautiful as its photos; the appliances and bathrooms seemed brand-new and the finishing was superb. Everything said "Welcome" -- right down to the bottle of wine that awaited us. We loved staying in this apartment and had the time of our lives in Lucca. What a gorgeous spot with great restaurants, wonderful art and hospitable people. We think it was the best holiday that we've had in many years.

We have just returned from a wonderful stay in Lucca. The apartment was lovely and the pictures do not do it justice. It is very spacious and ideal for 2 couples as each could have their own, almost self-contained area. The whole booking process was very well organised from the booking to the checking in by the caretaker (who was very welcoming). Both went the extra mile to make us feel welcome and this was particularly apparent when our outward flight was cancelled. The owner even offered free extra days to our next booking to make up for the disruption. The apartment was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. We hope to return in the near future.

Loved everything about the apartment, so light spacious, well-equipped and stylish. The owners are so organised, very communicative and concerned you have a nice stay. Thanks so much Balbir and family!
Lucca is beaustiful, a city with much atmosphere and culture but not too large or overpowering; vey relaxed even though it was the height of the season.
The only thing we could have done with in the apartment was a comfortable sofa for the five of us to gather but i think perhaps may that is maybe more of a British thing! Ditto and ditto a kettle (but there were tea and coffee pots!) -

This was our first visit to Lucca and this immaculate apartment ticked all the boxes, an absolute joy to come back to after a day
in the Tuscan countryside or on the beaches. Its in a great location in the historical centre with easy access to all amenities. The owner,
whom we never met was very easy to deal with and email exchanges were always quick, exact and prompt. Beautiful apartment, beautiful
town!
Lucca is charming, quiet and easy to negotiate, a great place to relax, unwind and be lazy in. It's also a great place for shopping which
was a pleasant surprise. If books, good food, coffee, italian culture and a nice apartment in gorgeous town are the makings of a great holiday
then this place hits the sweet spot.We hope to come back again.

Happy in Lucca
UKChic, central apartment within medieval walls.
Left on 10/17/2010 for a stay in October 2010
The apartment is recently refurbished to a high standard. The use of reclaimed/refurbished furniture gives it additional character. Very spacious, a welcome and quiet retreat, yet any part of the city within the walls is within at most a (brisk) ten minute walk. It may be a bit minimalist for some tastes and a sofa in the big living-kitchen would be welcome. Most importantly though, everything works and is in good shape.

This extraordinary apartment in the heart of Lucca is a wonderful place to stay while exploring not only the charming city of Lucca but also the surrounding Tuscany region. Experience Italian living in this charming town. Drinking coffee in quaint cafes, experiencing wine tastings of local wines, listening to Puccini arias in the catherdral, and relaxing and listening to the everyday sounds of Italy.

I don’t know if my review can adequately explain just how wonderful this lovely apartment is. Though the apartment is 60 stairs up, it is well worth the climb. It seems to have been recently renovated because everything is new and very, very clean.
Everything in the apartment worked perfectly, including the washer. The showers are huge, with strong streams of hot and cold water. The kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms had everything one would need during a stay. I enjoyed looking out my bedroom window at the ancient walls of a church. Plus, everything you could want is just a few steps away as the apartment is situated in the heart of historic Lucca.
The owner was easy to work with and patient with all of our questions and date changes. Even the neighbors in the building were friendly. I would most definitely stay here again.

Really lovely apartment in the centre of town, close
to all the shops, but on a street that is extremely
quiet. It is very spacious with everything you need
under one roof.
It has great light, with a good usable kitchen and
very large showers. The apartment has a really
interesting shape, it is an easy place to relax and
unwind.
The owners are really nice people - it was a good
experience in Lucca!
