We had a lovely week after a slightly bad start. We arrived by train on Saturday and had planned to rent a car Tuesday to Friday. We thought the bus service would be fine for a couple of days while we explored Lucca, which is a beautiful place. There was no bus on the Sunday and you really need a car. The apartment was clean and comfortable. We had some difficulty with the oven and the washing machine - some instructions in english would have been nice. And the towels which were supplied were not great. A beautiful place with lovely restaurants and lots of places to visit all around and it was a good part of our holiday.
