Bristol, United KingdomClean, comfortable, great location

Apartment Daisy was located in a fab location overlooking the Roman amitheatre and within yards from the main shopping street. We arrived at the bus station (piazzle G. Verdi) to be met by antonella, who arranged for a taxi to take us to the apartment, as it was raining. On arrival at the apartment we were further treated to complimentary wine, pizza and Nutella for our 2 boys which were so appreciated. The apartment itself was very clean and fully equipped with everything that you could possibly need for your stay. It was charming, and decorated in a typical Tuscan style with great views from the windows overlooking the square. Booking with the owner (Lucia) was straightforward and she was happy to answer any questions that were posed, and we certainly plan to return to lovely Lucca and apartment Daisy in the future.

Perfect setting and such a beautifully appointed apartment. We booked this at the last minute due to the earthquake in Bologna...change of itninerary! What a find! Very accomodating owner and nothing was a problem. Her colleague, Andrea, greeted us and manged to carry my suitcase up the stairs on his head (no mean feat, given the weight of it). You are right in the heart of everything going on, but still quiet and peaceful, given the fact that you are on the 3rd floor. Well equipped kitchen, great bed and the free wifi was a bonus. We would return tomorrow! Great vaalue and such lovely people. Thank you Lucia, Andrea and Lucca.

the apartment is beautiful, old Italy with a modern feel, Lucca station is a short walk away which makes it easy to travel about, we visited Pisa, Florence & the beach at Via reggio, on the days that we stayed in lucca we hired bikes from one of the many bikes shops and cycled around the city walls stopping at lovely little restaurants for lunch, one tip flat comfy shoes are a must, the stairs up to the apartment are daunting at first but once you get used them its fine. If you want to eat in, the market right outside the front door sells the most fantasic meatballs.

USAWonderfull!!!
Left on 07/18/2012 for a stay in July 2012
My family of 5 stayed here for 4 nights in July 2012, and it was perfect!!! The city of Lucca is an incredibly charming Tuscan walled city, made up of a maze of great streets lined with shops, cafes, resteraunts, architecture, museums, and churches. You can stroll through the city for days and not get bored. The apartment is in the center of Lucca with an amazing view of Piazza anfiteatro, beautifully furnished, well equipped with anything you need for cooking, cleaning, etc. There is a washer and drier for clothes and Wifi throughout. The apartment was plenty spacious for our family of 5 with a master bedroom, 2nd floor bedroom, living room, kitchen, and two full bathrooms. The only two slight negatives are parking (must park outside the city and space can be hard to come by, we usually ended up parking about 5 - 10 mins walk away...to be expected in a walled city like Lucca though) and the stairs to the apartment (4 flights up, could be very difficult for those who have problems with stairs).
Overall, this is a fantastic apartment in the center of a great city!!! Would deffinatley stay again and will recommend to friends and family! -

We ( 3 women) stayed in apartment Daisy for 3 nights mid May. The booking process direct with the owner Lucia was smooth and easy. I had an email just prior to arriving as well which was reassuring that someone (Andrea) would meet us. Not only did he meet us but we also found fresh pannini's and a fig tart in the fridge which was wonderful and very thoughtful. The apartment itself is well appointed with everything you might need and then some. The upstairs bathroom is small but adequate and the downstairs one is quite roomy and holds a washing machine tucked away.
The location is excellent, with a great view from the kitchen window, the bedrooms are spacious and there are plenty of warm bedcovers.. The beds are firm but we found that all over Italy. Be aware this apartment is on the 3rd floor with no lift, and as it is an historic area the stairs are worn and a little uneven. One portion of stairs has no handrail. We are on the wrong side of 50 and found this not a problem really, but it would be a hindrance to anyone frail, elderly, particularly unfit or with a physical disability which makes stair climbing difficult.
I would have no hesitation in booking and staying here again if I were fortunate enough to return to Lucca -

We enjoyed a wonderful four nights in Daisy apartment. The apartment was big enough for two couples, with space for us to share meals and play cards together. Great wifi throughout and all the neccessary kitchen bits and pieces for self-catering if you wish. There is even a supermarket a few minutes away. The location is perfect with so much to see and do so close, and great restaurants near by also!
It's perfect for a family of four, or two couples. -

My husband and I spent two weeks in apartment Daisy. The view looking down onto Piazza anfiteatro is great! Our rental included use of two bikes, which was perfect to get around the city. We even biked to one of the vineyard/olive groves in the outskirts of Lucca. And it was a very easy, 5-10 minute ride to the train station for easy access to Pisa, Cinque Terre, Florence, and even Rome. The apartment would have been very comfortable to share with 2-3 additional people, which would have made it an even better deal. We had a great stay and definitely recommend apartment Daisy to anyone planning to visit Lucca!

After a vacation rental fell through just a few weeks before we travelled to Lucca I was extremely lucky to find apartment Daisy! I emailed Lucia and she gave me a good rate. We have been to Lucca several times and I definitely wanted to be in the very center. You can't pick a more central location - the antifeatro is really lovely. My husband and I have two teenage girls and the apartment was perfect. There is a bedroom upstairs with twin beds and small bath and shower...nice side tables with lamps by each bed and an a/c unit operated by remote control...the girls could rest peacefully in a cool atmosphere. We got the fabulous bedroom with its beautiful antiques and a bed fit for a king. Two big windows from this room look over the back streets behind the antifeatro - fun to watch the locals getting mail, etc... by baskets pulled up to their high windows! A much needed clothesline was outside this window. This room also had a remote a/c unit. A big spotless bathroom with tiny washing machine in closed. A very small living area and tiny but perfect kitchen completes the apt. The view is from the kitchen window - we put chairs there and enjoyed leaning out and watching the ever changing landscape of the antifeatro! There were music groups that played on the piazza in the evenings - classical from Canada, etc... Lucca loves it's music! The apartment is very old so the stone stairs (fifty) leading up to the apartment are narrow and uneven but to us this adds to the charm. Inside the apartment you can see the beautiful exposed stone and wooden beams...it is very italian to leave the ancient architectural areas visible. Although Lucia does not live in Lucca she had andrea meet us and he was wonderful. A quick cell phone call away - he met us in the antifeatro and carried our suitcases up the stairs! He gave us restaurant advice and marked up the map. We didn't need to call him again but knew he was there if we needed him! Lucia was very prompt with email.

Words cannot describe our stay in this apartment in Lucca. First of all you are in one of the most beautiful cities in Italy and centrally located too. Florence and the sea are both quick day trips. The location in Lucca is perfect-each day/night you can overlook the beautiful piazza. Lucia and andrea are extremely helpful and kind. Lucia answered all our emails promptly. Andrea provided invaluable help upon check in...even a map of the city for us as well as some breakfast provisions-so thoughtful. Andrea recommended many places to eat and we enjoyed each one...we think we may have had the best meal yet on our trip-which says a lot if you know about food in Italy. The apartment is clean and well furnished...they even had house shoes/slippers (essential in Italy) and robes too! The best part is that when all the tour busses leave in the evening, you can enjoy Lucca as it should be. The local people are very friendly as well. There isn't internet in the apartment but we found a wine bar and a regular Italian bar right around the corner to get wireless. Beware that the steps leading up to the apartment are steep and there are many but the view is worth it. In June we never even used the air conditioning because there was a nice cross breeze and ceiling fans which helped tremendously. If it is a little la dolce vita that you seek, you can find it here!
