Description from the owner
The apartment is located in a Renaissance patrician house, built by a Senator of Lucca Republic in 1460, and recently restored. This ancient house is situated in the elegant pedestrian area lying in the middle of Lucca city center.
This exclusive residence consists of only one studio apartment, next to the owners' flat. It is more than 50 square meters wide, and has its own separate entrance. It has been restored using only valuable traditional materials, fully respecting the original structure.
It includes a sleeping alcove with a romantic wrought iron double-bed, a living area with characteristic furniture, an eat-in kitchen wit...Read more

HamburgEin Zuhause in Lucca
Left on 06/11/2012 for a stay in March 2012

BostonMy home in Tuscany
Left on 03/07/2012 for a stay in January 2012
I discover by hazard the Residenza on the web. What I needed was a comfortable, centrally located, independent studio apartment to spend a week.
This place suites perfectly my need. It's a self catering suite in a historic building on one of the main streets of lovely Lucca. It's within the walls in a pedestrian area, so it's very quiet, and I could sleep perfectly.
The apartment is superbly furnished and the owner is a very friendly and nice gentleman, who also helped me in organizing my visit to the town and to nearby Pisa and Florence.
I think that this place is perfect for anyhone travelling alone or in a couple, who likes to stay in a Tuscan art city and doesn't like to drive or stay in the countryside, or for anyone travelling from occtober to june, when Tuscan hills are still quite cold.
I also recommend it to anyone who likes to try Tuscan lifestyle in a 'soft' way. You have a full kitchen and can try cooking yourself, and there are also plenty of restaurants just round the corner if you prefer to have dinner outside. For sure I will come back, as I wish to start with some Italian language courses and the best language schools downtown are very close to the apartment, and the owner himself is a teacher and can supply lessons and guided tours.Response from Valerio - 06/18/2012
