Al Casino dei Papi is a detached and delightful stone-built country house. It lies on the top of a hill in the northern area of the Lucca countryside only 8 km from its ancient city's Walls. It is completely independent and far from any noises.
The house is approached via a steep and narrow gravelled (not paved) track which leads you from the main road to the house in less than a 1 km (but consider that 1 miles=1,6km)

We had the most exceptional time staying with friends from america we enjoyed the true Tuscan experience in the beautiful villa dei papi. The views, the weather and our accommodation culminated in an unforgettable holiday, with many memories we have since shared with our friends and photos from the villa patio, surrounding walks and our excursions to hillside towns and the Cinqa Terra.The town of Lucca offered so much to our stay - bike rides around the wall, delicious meals, coffee with cake, great shopping and friendly people. One of the most outstanding experiences was the support given to us by Debra, her father Claudio and Mother Silvana. Many thanks to them all

The House was wonderful and well represented by the description. Debora and her staff were wonderful to work with and assisted with arranging groceries and a chef our first night. The house was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed eating outside and the lovely view. The pool is loveley and the area is perfect for walking and enjoying nature. The property is well maintained and great for families or groups wanting to break away from the hustle and bustle of city life. You need a car and gps to navigate to/from the house but it is worth the effort. We didn't travel into town daily but every couple of days for supplies and to visit family in the Lucca area. We had a great time.
