The surrounding area offers its visitors many opportunities to spend their holidays, walks, visiting the art cities of Tuscany, tast the local products such as wine and olive oil, tasting festivals, cultural events and artisans market that occur throughout the year.
San Gennaro is a little village placed on the hills of Lucca at only 2 km from Collodi the famous Park of Pinocchio, and 14 km from Lucca the birthplace of Puccini, a medieval town surrounded by an old walls. It is an excellent location to visit the famous art towns of Tuscany:Florence, Pisa, Siena.
The ski resort of Abetone is at only 60 km away and has excellent snow from December to March. You can enjoy also the famous thermal baths of Montecatini at 16km or Bagni di Lucca at 28km, or the beaches of Viareggio at 35km and Forte di Marmi at 45km .
The village San Gennaro is a little corner of Tuscany between olive grove and vineyard, still genuine and all to discover, with small roads but full of charm and history like the old church, that contain an angel recently attributed to Leonardo da Vinci.

In September, Lucca hosts a village fair, and just outside the city centre you can find an amusement park. Pisa invites you to discover the world-famous Piazza dei Miracoli, and its extraordinary monuments: the Cathedral, the Baptistery, the Churchyard and the Leaning Tower.

Abetone is able to augment natural snow using the 110 Snow Cannons. VERSILIA is a famous seaside resort where you can enjoy and relax on the beach of Viareggio, Forte dei Marmi and Lido di Camaiore. Viareggio has got a well known carnival in February. From Versilia it is possible, in particular periods, to make trips to 'Le Cinque Terre' (Liguria) and Elba Island.
